  1. Hi @_Ozzee_, I like your app because of the great design. I wanted to ask you which IDE have you used?
  2. Hi, I have decided to make PUTools free so now everybody can download it:)
  3. Hello, as you maybe know from other threads I have decided to code an android app that can be used as an alternative to the original Lego app. The main reasons why I have done the project is the implementation of new features and a nice design as I am not a big fan of the design that Lego has provided with their Powered UP app. The app is now available at the Google Play Store. Features of my app: V1.0: -controlling one PU HUB with both A and B port at the same time -reading the battery power of your HUB -choosing custom sounds to play as simulation -Volume button control(that means that you control your motors just by pressing the volume button on your phone) -choosing color of the build-in RGB LED inside of your HUB -renaming the HUB -dark/white theme -turning off HUB Presentation video: DOWNLOAD NOW FOR FREE: PlayStore Hope you will like it P.S.: If you have ideas for new features than just write a post.
  4. Hallo powered up fans, right now I am programming an alternative app for powered up. My main aim is to make it better than the standard lego powered up app. I would ask you, if you have some cool ideas for the new remote control app? I would be very happy about some suggestion. The app will be programmed for android, but maybe I will soon learn Swift, so I can programme a version for IOS.

Hi, I have made a demo now with a watermark. You can download the test version now from google drive:https://drive.google.com/file/d/1x75Fquqs26aOHplBXKrtNT8S-5tFEEA6/view?usp=sharing This version has all features of PUTools in the Play Store. The only difference is the watermark. If you like it you can download the normal version from Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pfremote.putools When there are some bugs please report me about them so I can fix them.
  8. I'm wondering what battery percent data my app would show when you power such a hub with LiPo. Maybe I will check it out soon:)

@Phil B Thank you for your tips and motivation to make other cool projects;) I think that "freemium" is a great idea to make my app marketing. Although I think that first I will try to sell it and make a free version with a watermark for testing. You are right, there are many competitors when you look at PU software.

@GianCann Like it, although the design on bigger screens could have a better resolution.

@Philo Thanks for this great idea. I will post a demo version, for example with a watermark so you will be able to test it out. If you like it than you will be able to download the full version. What do you think about posting an apk on Google Drive and sharing the link for this test version than.

@AVCampos Hi, yes I understand what you mean. I will think about reducing the price or make the app completely free, maybe even Opensource. Thanks for your feedback BTW:)

@Jetro Yes, I am sure about it that you have a great alternative from LEGO, but I can understand when somebody likes a different design, add custom tunes, be able to control the speed more flexible through moving the seek bars in an easier way than the LEGO app and connecting faster than with the standard LEGO app. I have also realized that the standard LEGO app has problems with connection. You also have Volume-Button-Control option that let's taking control over the hub by pressing volume buttons of your phone. You can run the app easily in background so this also a feature that does not always work in the android PU app. Why do I want to get money for it? The main reason is that I am a 15 years old android app developer and want to earn some pocket money. I would never do it when LEGO would not be my hobby. Hope you understand it.

Yes, this would be possible, I will make some updates soon so you can code the hub like in normal lego app. Technically it is possible:)

Powered Up - A tear down...

Hi, thank you very much, I am completly inside programming of my app right now, so I have forgotten to check the forum. But stillI I am testing out how to connect to more than one device, in MIT app inventor it s much easier to do it, than in Android Studio with Java, but the disadvantage of MIT app inventor, that there aren t so many possibilities for changing the design of the app and there are also several other disadvanteges.

Hi @GianCann, the frimware stuff is very interesting;) But do you know, how to get the version of the firmware that is installed on the HUB through a command? I know you need to read it but first you have to write a command, so it will be showed in the code that you read?

Hi, I have already posted such firmware files, but do you have an idea how to install them by a command? BTW.: Have you used a decompiler?

Powered Up - A tear down...

Hi @Lok24, I will try to release this points, but I have some questions too: - Button to turn on LED (on same hub) Do you mean the built in LED of the HUB or connected leds. As I understand you mean that it should control two leds on two HUBS. What do you mean with switch to support 2-5 locos? Do you mean that you are connected to 2-5 HUBs and you control every of them by a switch that changes the HUB that should be controlled.

Hi, I just wanted to know it for direct disconnection, so there are no issues with auto conect, after reopening the app. BTW.: The command had worked. @imurvai Do you know the command for changing the name?;)

Hi, ok, thank you for the information. I have seen the doc of the Lego PU system on Github, but I still don t understand, what is the command for changing the name of the HUB and turning it off. With command I mean the HEX code that you have to send to the hub. Example command for setting the speed to maximum on port A: 0800810011510060. It would be very helpful for me to know this for continue programming on my app. LINK to the doc: https://lego.github.io/lego-ble-wireless-protocol-docs/index.html#document-index

Hi, I decided to decompile the PU app and I found some firmware packages. Do you know how to install them manually, I am programming an alternative app for PU and I would like to code an option, where you can update/downgrade the firmware of the PU Hub.
