  1. Marvel Superheroes 2018 - Set Discussion

"Being lazy" doesn't make sense as a criticism. It's not like someone was on the schedule to make those prints, and they just skipped that day. If there's no leg prints or dual molding it's a business and financial decision, and has nothing to do with lack of effort. Frankly I could see two different arguments that would make sense, either because these are Infinity War sets, they know that they will sell no matter what quality they are, or they don't expect these to sell as well as people think they will, and so going overboard on expenses would be a detriment.
  2. Marvel Superheroes 2018 - Set Discussion

Pretty obvious they put their money where they expect the most return. That's kind of the key thing everyone in this topic seems to miss. They act like this movie will sell more toys than Lego has ever done before...but the company pays experts a lot of money to figure out what's going to produce profits and what won't in an unbiased way. If you want these highly detailed, super accurate designs the cost has to be justified. If they're not putting a ton of effort into these, it's because they don't see a reason to. And frankly, what a bunch of adults have been waiting ten years for means diddly to a company that's catering to people who haven't been alive for ten years.
  3. Jurassic World 2018 - Rumors and Discussion

Scale down? I meant the old raptor body with a new head.
  4. Jurassic World 2018 - Rumors and Discussion

Maybe we will be lucky and the Indoraptor just uses the old body with a new head mold?
  5. Marvel Superheroes 2018 - Set Discussion

It's always amazing to me how much AFOLS hate Lego's style. Simplified is kind of the defining trait of the design. Obviously this is real, just like the Black Panther ones that "looked fake" were.
  6. DC Superheroes 2018 - Set Discussion

Well, you know how five year olds are. Won't even play with a toy if it's not screen accurate.
  7. [MOC] Disney Collectable Minifigures Series

I like your illustrations, but they do have one glaring problem. You seem to have a bad tendency to make the hair and headpieces really thin and low to the Head, when in reality the you'd need more thickness in the new hairmolds to make sure they don't break. I think this will also help some of them look a little more authentically "Lego". Finn and Gaston are particularly good examples of this; I doubt their hair would even cover the peg if they were genuine plastic. Your bodies are perfect so the hair stands out as an issue.
  8. The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

You uh...realize someone still has to buy the joker Manor for you to get that figure right? Working just as intended.
  9. Future Marvel Superheroes Rumors & Speculation

It's not like he's going to be the main badguy, it wouldn't be a shock if he doesn't show up.
  10. The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

Can you tell us if the Catwoman in the space shuttle set is the same as always?
  11. Harry Potter 2018 - Rumors and Discussion

Weird, it's almost like there's going to be some kind of big media push for Harry Potter next year. It's almost like it's starting to make sense that there be some Lego sets.
  12. Harry Potter 2018 - Rumors and Discussion

The rumors are from a reliable source. The fact that this thread exists is testament to the reality of the coming sets; the moderators don't allow any old rumor its own discussion thread. In any case yes, if you take out the primary market of children, there wouldn't be as much demand for Harry Potter. You are certainly correct.
  13. Harry Potter 2018 - Rumors and Discussion

You um, kind of forgot about the new Fantastic Beasts movie didn't you there.
  14. Harry Potter 2018 - Rumors and Discussion

Why would you assume they'd prefer large rooms to the small vignettes? They did the same thing with the Batman mansion, can't see why they'd not do it here.
  15. DC Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion

Didn't she get an entire animated show? Makes sense to me.
  16. DC Superheroes 2018 - Set Discussion

I feel like I'm going crazy, that's a new mold for krypto right? I'm looking at my Scooby and it seems very different.
  17. Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion

Just like we never got bizarro or green lantern?
  18. The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

Boomerang is funnier than those guys.
  19. Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion

Oh, you're talking about AFOLs. Sure, they care. They also don't matter. They barely even register on the sales charts compared to kids, and kids do not care about leg printing.
  20. Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion

To....Save money. It will stop literally nobody from buying the set, why wouldn't they?
  21. Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion

Just because you don't know where the budget went but that doesn't mean it didn't go somewhere
  22. Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion

Different themes have different budgets. Not a surprise that their own huge movie event takes priority over a regular licensed theme
  23. Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion

Same reason they use stickers. Differently printed pieces require unique storage areas, increasing the cost of storing them. Plus designers are given a "budget" of new pieces, pieces in new colors, and unique prints in each set they design. Not giving Gamora a unique chest print gave them the chance to do something else in another part of the set.
  24. Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion

They're saving money by reusing a print, not that hard to see.
  25. Doctor Who General Discussion

The problem isn't whether doctor who is popular in the states, it's about who it's popular with; adults love it. Children, not so much. That's why you don't see who merchandise in American toy aisles, you see it in places where adults shop. And if kids aren't buying it, it's not going to be a big seller for Lego, plain and simple.
