    MOC The Captain's Daughter's Inn & Watermill

Thx for all the great comments. I know the build has certain points of improvement. If not, we would stop building because we cant do better the next one, that's my motto :) @BrickCurve, i got some interesting techniques for a new tree from Juliandrius, so I am experimenting on that :) I know this one sucks a bit :) My tree skills need a lot of improvement :) @TheLordOfBricks, i ran out of grassy elements, that's the main reason why i didn't put the whole base full of grass. Think it looks too naked too on that one side of the build. Also, I need to add more olive green grass too to break to uni-tone greenish look on the base. I am going to see if that water hint you gave me improves the build. Thx for that :)
  4. Hello All, As already seen on Brickmania Antwerp 2016 : The captain's daughter's inn and watermill The Daughter of retired captain Albert opened an inn in the heart of the forrest next to an old watermill. At first, the watermill was out of use and the inn was struggling to survive, but since the new owners of the mill arrived and started to clean up the place bit by bit, more craftsmen and traders come to visit the inn. Book II - Nocturnus: Guild sign-up and Discussion

Haha, My Cook, Witch Purple, has been an experienced pie maker for decades. She loves to inject poisonous frog slime into parts of the pie for our Avalonian friends. Her kitchen consists of an automated pumpkin-skeleton butchery, where the pumpkins get separated from there bodies by sword. Then they boil the pumpkins until they can be added to a cream pie, to be baked for about 20 minutes in an open fire oven. after this, the beautiful orange pie parts get injected and exported to Avalon. The biggest parts of the baked pies however, stay here in Nocturnus, to be enjoyed by us. bon appétit ;) Pumpkin pie kitchen GoH Nocturnus by daniel vermeir, on Flickr Pumpkin pie kitchen GoH Nocturnus by daniel vermeir, on Flickr Pumpkin pie kitchen GoH Nocturnus by daniel vermeir, on Flickr Pumpkin pie kitchen GoH Nocturnus by daniel vermeir, on Flickr

even after long consideration, you can make wrong choices. For sure after being strucked by lightning

Book II - Nocturnus: Guild sign-up and Discussion

Hello all, i'd love to sign up for Nocturnus. the downside is, i won't be posting any builds the next month, for i am going on a holiday. but after this holiday, i'm all loyal subject to my Nocturnus masters :) my Figure, Viggen, was once struck by lightning when crossing Midgardian borders on the hunt for thiefs, stealing all of his supplies. burned completely black, he descended to the gates of Hell, where they told him to return to Nocturnus to help them stand their grounds on the constant treats of neighbour enemies. To show my dedication to join you guys, I've found a new source for pumpkin, discovered in the mountains right above the labyrinth. The pumpkin warrior. Hope the Pie made of it tastes as good as they should be! Getting ready for Guilds Of Historica. MOC Mirror Lake Cottage

Nice to be compared with building skills of a 1 year old :) thx At least my roof looks nice :) Thx ;) Trying to see how i can expend the base. Or make the circle bigger, or make it a cluster of circles, as seen from above like some sort of cloud shape. Testing a few things now.

Amazing ! Gives me the idea to try one myself, but that one will look rubbish compared to yours!

Here is a picture from below the baseplate. about 400 hinges make it a solid plate. the second picture shows the detachable house and the 'top' side of the baseplate. tiles work of the baseplate, in exception of the horizontal and vertical cross, at 0°, 90°, 180° and 270° to fix on the greenery. I'll try to post a pic from below the base to make things more clear how the plate was built. The house can be removed. This was done to make the plate lighter for transportation in case i enlarge the base in the future. The base is made out of a lot of hinges for sure ;)

The brown curvy things are supposed to be dried out poison ivy leftovers, just the branches, not the leaf.

You are totally right. Also not happy yet with the water. Experimenting a few techniques now. I also didnt make myself easy wanting to use that round base. Next time i'll keep with a square. Those things you learn the hard way. @all : Thx for the replies!
