Appreciate the responses. So i tried another AAA battery box again and it seems to work. Maybe I have a couple bad AAA boxes so i will be testimg that next. Appreciate all the great advice

Just tested again. Freezes with aaa battery box. Works flawlessly with aa battery box. Hard to hide the aa battery box so this isnt good

Which battery box are you using. All my rolling stock have ball bearings

So i was able to do some testing. With only 1 motor attached it runs fine but is slow and weak with both sbrick and PF receiver. When a reattach 2 motors it freezes again. I removed the AAA battery box and replaced it with AA battery box it works fine. So i assume its the AAA battery box. I have tried multiple ones with same result.

So i appreciate the replies and i will start the troubleshooting. I feel it is overheating but it could be because with my drivetrain causing overheating I will take photos in a few. It will run fine for a while by itself. Then when i apply a load (rollling stock) it will just seize up and stop. Motors appear to buzz. When i stop it and restart it will start again for couple seconds. Im attempting to put 2 L motors in a SD70 model. They are placed horizontal with a 20T gear on the motor. There is another 20T gear in the bogie. Ive tried the setup with a sbrick and a V1 receiver. The motors seem to freeze after a very short period of use. Wondering what could be causing this? Anyone else encounter these issues?

I'm having some issues getting the correct speed with L Motors. I've geared it 12:20 and still seems a bit slow for a diesel loco. I'm buidling a SD70 with 3 wheel trucks. Should it be geared differently. Was wondering if I am doing something incorrectly. Any advise would be helpful. Thanks

I've been trying to build some 7 wide passenger cars and I used some techniques to center the train motor attachment hole utilizing lego part 3176, the 3x2 plate with hole. However, this works with train motors but not that great. The whole car wobbles quite a bit since the train motor is meant to be used with a single plate width. I was wondering what people use when building 7 wide to attach the train motors. Thanks

I've looked for this answer but cannot find it. Can Sbrick consist meaning can I control two sbricks with one control slider in the app so I can run more than one train together. Also, I see that the maximum functions is 64. Does that mean I can only control 16 Sbricks or can I control 64 separate sbricks if I chose to? Thanks for any help

Does the Sbrick allow you to control two or more locomotives in a consist?

I enjoyed purchasing instructions to learn how to be a better builder. It can sometimes be a challenging building from photos online, especially the drive trains for certain locomotives. Someday, I hope to have the time to design locomotives for myself but I;m not that talented just yet.
