  1. That looks like so much fun! I'd better not bring my train to work, otherwise nothing will get done here anymore ;).
  2. That's great to hear, enjoy it! I finished the train yesterday, tomorrow I'll start on the train station (and start modding :D). Let me know what kind of layout you come up with!
  3. I was lucky, last week there was a 15% off action at Bart Smit and Intertoys in the Netherlands. Right now, you can pick it up for €200, which is still pretty decent value.
  4. If you want to buy the blue cargo train (60052), you might consider the 66493 Super Pack. In addition to 60052, it contains two track packs (7895 switching tracks and 7499 flex and straight tracks) and the 60050 train station. I picked it up on sale last week for €169, which is pretty good value. You'll be able to create more interesting layouts because of the extra tracks.
  5. Frankly, I prefer web page reviews to video reviews for a lot of reasons: Web pages allow hyperlinking while video reviews are linear by nature. I like it when reviewers refer to other sets, building techniques or websites. When I watch a video review, and I hear something interesting, I have to stop the video and google for it. On a web page I can just CTRL-click it and read the content at my leasure. When watching a video, you are forced to process the information at the same pace as the reviewer. But often I'm not interested in the same aspects as the reviewer. I might want to skip the bits about the minifigures (sue me ;)), while I'd like to spend some more time examining a mechanism. Which brings me to my next gripe with video reviews: High resolution pictures. Video review quality usually allows for less detail than a good Flickr photostream. Looking at the external reviews on Brickset set pages, it seems that more and more reviewers switch to making video reviews, so there's obviously a market. To each their own but I hope I can keep reading good quality reviews at my own page here on EuroBricks. Judging by your written English, you have nothing to worry about. Your video reviews are among the few I actually enjoy (which is saying something, considering my rant ;)), so keep up the good work!
  6. I've picked up this set for €85,95 at A-Tembo (http://www.a-tembo.nl/webshop/lego/technic/42053-volvo-ew160e-detail.html) and I think it's great value. It's quite a long build, the functions work really well and it's nice to have a set with that many functions and only three gears.
  7. Last saturday, my 6 year old nephew was visiting. He brought along two Ninjago minifigures from 70601 Sky-Shark because he knows I love Lego. Unfortunately, he lost his Lloyd minifigure somewhere in the city. We haven't been able to find it. I thought it would be nice to bricklink the minifigure and make up an 'adventure' with some pictures. Unfortunately, I have no Ninjago sets at all, so I have a question for the community: Do you have a Lloyd minifigure? Would you mind making a picture of in some adventurous setting? I would hugely appreciate it, and I'm sure my nephew even more so!

    Lloyds' adventures

Thanks guys, that would be awesome!
  9. I don't find the Ninjago thema very appealing but this does seem like a nice set. The build seems fun enough an there are a lot of nice Technic parts in there. Most notably the rubber pins with friction on the tracks: http://brickset.com/parts/6139223 The wide technic track links don't work that well on smooth surfaces. It'd be interesting to see how much friction these parts add.
  10. Did someone build the Porsche boxes in 1-3-2-4 order to honor the gear change sequence of this ultimate gear box?
