Decool figures review, The trial of the enemy!

What a lot of people fail to understand is a VERY simple concept of "supply and demand". Lego can't keep their supply up with the demand for these figures and there was a gap in the market that a couple of smart companies went after. Spending $5 on 6-8 minifigures isn't going to send Lego out of business. The love for customs and hate on bootlegs is extremely hypocritical. I guess everyone just pretends these "customizers" aren't taking the likeness from trade mark characters and using Lego's product to make themselves money. But it's ok right? Because guys like Christo do these by hand and sell a tiny piece of $2 plastic for $40-$60?

    Purist Superhero Figures

Still a lego noob but noticed what I would imagine to be a minifig from a Chima set, Slithra has the body to make a perfect Constrictor. Anyone have a decent head substitute?

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?

Sheng Yuan I believe you're referring to. Neither is really better, they both have pro's and cons. Sheng I believe uses a better plastic, could be wrong. His legs and torso I believe resemble real lego. Decool has plate like pegs on the sides on the legs and pointed shoulders on the torso. I've had bad paint jobs from both, decool more but I have ordered more of his stuff so that doesn't mean much. As bootlegs go though these two "brands" are the very best and when the paint jobs are on, some of these figs can be really amazing.

Picked up the blackbird today, very underwhelmed with the sentinal more so than I thought I would be. The minifigures and blackbird itself are all beautifully done though. The new Guardian sets looked really temping too seeing them in person. Marvel can try phase out the X-men but with Wolverine as one of the biggest stars in all of comic book franchises being tied to the X-men, good luck Marvel.

I find it a little strange that Decool advertises his next set as, Big Thing, Punisher, Falcon, Red Skull, Taskmaster and Bullseye. Yet were getting another 3 pack set of Thing like we did Hulk. I'm wondering if once the full set comes out if the big Thing in blue comes with the other 5 or if there will be another figure in his place. Gonna wait for that sets release before I order a Thing set, should only be a couple of weeks.

I've only had problems with the fantastic four and now this sets printing. Which I think are the two most recent sets, so maybe Decools quality control is slacking at the rate they're pushing these out. Honestly if you want 100% chance of a good all around print I would get 2.

    Quicksilver from X-Men

Damn! you're not kidding, over $30 for that?! Makes supplementing it for the white magneto hair from the new x-men a better choice or buying a real custom off Ebay.

.Newest decool set arrived, glad I ordered a second as phoenix and spideys printing is off, go figure! X-men, turning bootleg Wolvie into an Iceman with an electro fig. Buying the new x-men set tomorrow and I have a bricklink order coming that's gonna help finish off my custom Havok, Gambit, Sabretooth, Rogue and Angel. As well as finish Prof X. Screw waiting for TLG to deliver, fingers crossed on Decool making a big Colossus. All my bootlegs If it makes you feel better I ordered my Fantastic 4 sets off there and got them no problem.

Nice review, thanks. Really pumped to get this set, X-men are my favorite from the marvel universe and I've been disappointed with the lack of lego sets. Debating on getting 2 sets, gonna need more than 1 sentinal, plus a second blackbird might aid in building a larger version overall. Could you possibly take a picture of the older Wolverine wearing the new mask? Thank you.

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?

The newest decool set hit Ebay featuring Black Widow, Blue suit Wolverine, Toyfair Spider-man, Toyfair Phoenix, TDK Joker and Captain America. Bought a set for $12, a little more than I would have liked to pay for bootlegs but Phoenix is my favorite female marvel character and my nephew has been obsessed with that Joker custom since he saw it. Hope Lego realizes soon that there is a market for these minifigures and maybe does a 16 figure series or works with DC/Marvel to release different characters. I hope something gives soon though because the quality on these is only getting better and eventually some people's collection will consist of more bootlegs than official figures. Customs aren't a bad thing, and that's how I view these. They're just done on a larger scale and I can either pay $40 for a custom minifigure or $2 for one, I'll choose to save $38 every time.

Bought a few sets, some are great and others make nice parts for customs or what's best, the young kids to play with. I'm not a huge fan of the ones who I already have official figures of. but guys like Odin, Winter Soldier, Arrow, Marvel, who I won't be getting or TLG won't be making are major welcome additions. As long as they keep producing comic con figures or customs I'll keep buying. Odin is excellent, one of my favorites.

What is the best 20$/27€ Super Heroes set?

Just some of my opinions of the sets below, I have these 5 and I think any of the first 3 would be great picks but can't really narrow it down after that. All 3 sets include great minifigures. 1.Lex Luthor set with Superman and Wonder Woman is pretty great. Comic book Superman minifig, awesomely detailed Wonder Woman and a who doesn't like Lex Luthor? Plus he can double as professor X if you build him a wheelchair. Pretty sweet robot build too, I mainly liked the set because it's a cheaper set and allowed you to check 2 Justice League members off the list. 2.Aquaman on ice set is great too. Batboat is really cool looking, nice ice pieces included in the set that you don't see often too. The white batman is a cool variant, Aquaman while not everyone's favorite still a crucial part in the DC universe, new Mr.Freeze is great. 3.Hydra Tank, I've put the minifigures together but not the tank so I can't comment on that. But A new more classic looking Cap and the red skull minifigures are awesome enough to validate a buy on this set. Hydra henchman is a nice bonus, going to have to bricklink a few more to build a gang. Wish we got more than 1 goon/henchman in these newer sets. 4.Doc Oc escape, truck is cool with a nice playable feature/concept I just wish the truck was bigger. Love the classic looking Doc Oc even if the Octoarms are flimsy, guard is basic but I feel like you can never have too many flesh guards/police. Spider-man is starting to take the Batman route, same figure released in a different vehicle variation. At least Batman got different suits made for most of his sets. Wouldn't hurt to see a different Spidey variant. 5.Manbat attack set, batcopter is cool for what it is, another black batman, manbat although not prettiest figure does it's job, Nightwing is awesome and since the other alone costs more than this set I think it's a good investment for him and manbat if you're like me and want to have at least 1 figure of every character.
