All of the human soldiers from Alien Conquest I like a lot, because of the new blue color and they make good space soldiers. Anubis guards from Pharaohs Quest.

Did a Google Images reverse image search, all it turned up were wallpaper sites. Since I don't recognize it from anything, and no wikipedia or any other sites with actual information came up, I'm guessing it's fake. Good wallpaper though.

LEGO® CUUSOO 空想 - Turn your model wishes into reality
brickmack replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well hopefully the added age restrictions will cut down on the really bad project entries (which I think are mostly posted by young kids) at least a little bit. I agree. Most kids are probably used to adding a few years to their age anyway, I doubt 13/18+ restrictions have stopped more than a few percent of kids from joining websites. COPPA kinda failed in that way. I doubt it. Even if a significant number of votes are lost, LEGO probably realizes it's a good idea. Last I heard LEGO was negotiating with the makers of Minecraft to make it anyway, so they probably won't abandon that. -
Woah. The engines both look great, as does the rest for this ship. The whole thing is just... perfect.

I found this a few weeks ago in a box of mixed LEGO, megabloks and play mobile parts. On the bottom is a hole that seems to be compatible with a technic axle, but I dont recognize it from any sets. Also I cant find LEGO written on it anywhere, and its normally stamped on most parts. Is this LEGO or something else?

Ah, thanks.

I personally think these are good, except the fisherman. The only one I dont already have is the elf, but I wanted to make an army anyway... Still cant believe the Spartan wasnt included. Really? I got like 8 elves. -
8110 - Unimog - MODs and Improvements
brickmack replied to tripletschiee's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'm sure at least one other person is working on/has finished the same thing, but I'm planning to mod mine so I can drive it around with the RC system. I haven't had a lot of time to play around with the internal stuff, but I think I'll probably have to pull out the stuff that operates the crane and front winch to be able to fit 2 motors plus the IR receiver. If/when I get it finished, I'll post pictures here. -
I do a lot for sets under 200-300 parts. I usually get it right, or close to. I do that sometimes also, but often have to find instructions (if they posted any) for the tricky parts, since MOCs are generally far more complex than official sets.

Great introduction 'Imperial Technology'. The roof is quite nice looking, and the vines on the bottom roofs are a nice touch. Is there an interior?

I'm assuming it's not climate controlled, in which case, it probably will at least increase the chances of something happening. High temperature or rapid changes in temperature can cause parts (particularly ones put together, but sometimes unassembled bricks also) to lose clutch power and warp. Also if there is a lot of humidity, that's not very good for applied stickers (especially the paper based ones I imagine), and it will might encourage mold growth (Though with the bags and such, mold probably isn't much of a concern). All of this depends on the climate where you live though, and the specifics of the storage locker.

A very funny and thorough review. Definitely going to have to get this set. My only major complaint is the white background used in the photography makes it rather difficult to see the white and transparent parts.

Unfortunately, LEGO probably won't continue with Kingdoms or any other castle theme at least until LOTR is over, to avoid self-competition. This is why they cancelled Pirates shortly before releasing POTC.

What will you remember from 2011 with Lego?
brickmack replied to eliminator's topic in General LEGO Discussion
This was my first year going to Brickworld Chicago, which I'll hopefully attend next year also (And any other conventions within reasonable distance of home). Many good sets, such as the Unimog, VW camper, and several others. Lots of new parts came out this year as well (And new colors). -
Not starting on any big projects unless I have enough parts to complete them, to finally learn Klingon, improve social skills, learn Java, stop making overly long lists. And various other items of lesser importance.
-
Happy new year to you too, 2 hours 1 minute 15 seconds left here. Diftor heh smusma also (translates as "live long and prosper" in Vulcan).

For most sets though, the cardboard insert takes up less cardboard than is removed by box shrinkage, so there is still a bit of reduction. And also the insert keeps the instructions from being folded and difficult to read, so it still is good.

An internet tale Winchester/Shaun of the Dead project on CUUSOO
brickmack replied to Yatkuu's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Congrats on getting some exposure that way, I liked you're pub MOC when I saw it a few days ago. They might, the building in The London Escape from POTC looks rather like a bar to me (I haven't seen the movie so I might be wrong), I see glasses and a barrel with a tap on it in there. -
Same here, reddish brown and yellow both seem to be really bad with color variation. I've got a few sets that had reddish brown parts ranging in actual color from nearly old brown to almost red.

REVIEW: LEGO Friends 3933 Olivia's Inventor's Workshop
brickmack replied to lostcarpark's topic in LEGO Town
Looks nice, I'll probably have to get a few, for the blackboard and that blue color. I only wish the blackboard had some more... interesting stuff on it, what's shown is sorta... Bah, barefoot is the best way to do science. And she could probably build herself prosthetic legs. -
Any idea what mixture it should be? 1:1? 2:1? Or just a general "toss some glue in and see what happens"?

Galidor lives on for some odd reason...
brickmack replied to Siegfried's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Interesting. The Agents site is still up, but most seem to be down. pirates.lego.com redirects to the POTC site, and castle.lego.com redirects to the Kingdoms site also. -
do you read through the instruction book before buiding?
brickmack replied to happymark's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I usually build while reading through the instructions, though sometimes (usually just with smaller, under 300 part sets) I just look at the pictures on the box and build based on that. I usually get it mostly right that way, and generally the errors still look better than the original.
