I would love to have this set. Thanks for the review.

    MOC American Truck

Thanks for the link. That is one busy section of town.

Your thoughts on "cutting lego" ?

You did a good job on this, personally I would never cut, glue or modify my pieces unless I got/found it broken already.

[MOC] Attack Of The 50 Foot Mini figure

Amazing MOC and great creative idea for the head which I have never seen used in a build before. I wonder how long before we see those lunchboxes make their way into one.

    MOC American Truck

Awesome truck. Would love to see it driving down a Lego street.
  6. I love your vehicles. Every one of them looks great and it would be impossible to say which is my favourite.

    Leonardo da Vinci's Workshop

Great build. Love the window and furniture used.

    Review: 70412 Soldiers Fort

Thanks for the review. I am waiting for the Ship to come out and will probably be the only thing I will get from this line. I'm more into Castle and suprisingly Town is starting to really look good but who wouldn't want a pirate ship? I've been wanting one since I was a kid.
  9. I also enjoy a written review with pictures. I can read it at my leisure so if I have to do something else I can always come back to it. Not so much with a video review. I read the reviews firstly to see if I like what the set will look like as TLG will often only use flattering angles to sell their product and secondly to get ideas for my own builds. I normally never post anything as I feel that I have nothing to add, especially if I would be the tenth to say nothing more than "Wow, great review." I do however realise that it takes alot of time and effort from the reviewer and will definitely be saying thanks from now on.

what do you call your lego city/ names for lego city?

I laughed really hard at this. I would like this to be a list of names that anyone looking for inspiration will want to read through. I also think the names with a Lego reference are cliche but at the same time it just fits and there are some wonderfully imaginative names out there. Donnaton is another one I call towns in games and is based on my significant others' name.

    Enlighten Brick Boats Review

I have the smaller of the ships in the original post. I do think the quality is bad compared to Lego (obviously) but as I have bought it solely to glue together and display in my bar and as my bar is fairly open I don't mind if someone steals this ship. I will never display my Lego outside of my Lego room and these make cheap display alternatives. I also built their huge war ship but that was missing parts even though I had bought it brand new. It has since been played with so much that pieces have been lost and I eventually broke it down and added it to my sons toy box. I also don't mind if my friends kids play/lose these pieces but would be inconsolable if the same happened to my beloved Lego. Just my two cents worth.

    Your Lego ritual...

I generally build sets to the instructions and then think of ways to make them look better which normally just means adding a detail or two here and there and also removing "unnecessary" bricks from the build, these get put in my parts bins. Often I will see a piece and decide that I want to use it in a build because it will make a perfect fit for something that I have been trying or if inspiration hits. I will also think of something that I want to build and I will then take out all the parts that I think I will use and put those in a seperate container to build with.

    [MOC] Stonehinge Castle

This is really amazing. Great work. I have always dreamed of doing this with a castle.

What is a Minifigure to you?

That is one crazy idea for a super hero. A minifig is so much more after reading these posts.

What is a Minifigure to you?

It's great to hear everybodys criteria for what makes a minifig. Especially love the idea that they get a soul once completed :). It has also been interesting to find out that even TLG has no definite list of what makes a minifig a minifig. I guess that as we can use Lego to be anything so we can also choose for ourselves what is or is not a minifig. I would say that a minifig would have to have a specialised part or parts in their makeup. I would have to say that the torso, skeleton and normal, is probably the part that makes it or breaks it for me. The legs and hands I have seen as details on buildings and I am sure that someone has used the minifig head in a MOC. I have never used LDD so never even thought of how parts are organised on there, I think it is strange that you can't break those pieces down to their base components though.

What is a Minifigure to you?

Sorry to bump an old topic but I was wondering what properties classifies a minifig as a minifig? The robot which came with the Mars mission set 5616 is classified as a minifig yet is completely brick built and therefore in my opinion is not. The green aliens that came with the other Mars mission sets are also classified as minifigs, but as other posters noted with the maxifigs I classify more as minifigish than an actual minifig. What I find interesting is that skeletons aren't minifigs despite having a minifig head and accesories, unfortunately my limited imagination sees all skeleton parts as skeleton parts so I count it as a minifig. I know it's lego and therefore anything could be anything it's just a little strange when Brickset says you have X amount and you have a different number in your head.
  17. Thanks for an excellent review. I have never been a fan of space and won't be getting this set but Benny was such an awesome character in the movie that I thought I should look at his ship. You put together an excellent review with superb photos to go with it. It was so well written that I could not stop reading. Congratulations on winning this set and thank you once again for the time and effort you put into this and your other projects.

    Combining 70404 and 70402?

I have both these sets and I don't like the look when combined. If you still want a squareish castle then you also have to lengthen the other side and like ukbajadave said it starts to look very open. Not to mention the difference in actual wall type between the two sets which I don’t think work well together.

    Stickers?

Just wondering if anyone here protects their sticker or printed parts in any way? As stated before for stickers I use a clear plastic vynil and when I was a kid I used to coat my minifig heads with a clear nail varnish so the prints wouldn't rub off. Just wanted to know if there were better ways to do this.

    Sticker Placement!

I only applied stickers to MMV and then coated over them with a see through vynil to protect them. Makes it thicker but protects the sticker when the set is packed away in my parts bins.

    Dino-Riders MOCs

Loved these when I was a kid and nothing has changed. Awesome MOC's brilliantly executed. Well done.

    What did you buy today?

You'd have to be in Cape Town, South Africa and if you are and a fan of Lego you must have heard of Kiddiwinks.

    What did you buy today?

Got fire boat 60013 and rescue helicopter 60005 (they were on a crazy sale) and my second kingdoms jousting 10223. Got it on Saturday but couldn't find this topic till now.
