Mosana's custom torsos

Recommended Posts

I've just watched the movie "The Alamo" (2004 version) again. It's clear that the Mexican army (and their uniforms) look a lot like the French under Bonaparte. I even think some of the uniforms are an improvement over the French uniforms. Especially the uniforms of their officers (as shown in this picture) look very good.

Santa Anna was called by some the Napoleon of the West, but his skills as a commander really cannot be compared with those of Napoleon.

I'll be a bit busy for the next couple of weeks, so I won't be producing anything for a while. But I'll make a Bluecher and see what I can do about some Mexicans. Also, Bonaparte, if you're looking for films with a bit more men in them, have you tried Waterloo or War and Peace, both by Sergei Bondarchuk? With regards to the Prince of Orange, his portrayal in Sharpe was quite unfair, for he wasn't anywhere near as incompetent as he is shown to be, and, after the battle Wellington put the mistakes he made down to his lack of experience.

I found some time, as it turns out.

To Fordo: forgive me for making some assumptions, but, seeing as you want Bluecher, I'm guessing Waterloo is what you're interested in. That picture you provided is a very dressy uniform, but here he is as he most likely would have appeared in Waterloo.

Gebhard Leberecht Bluecher:

Also, TheBrickster, what is it you're looking for? Mexicans in general, Mexican general staff ot Santa Ana?

EDIT: Disregard that completely. I've looked up the Mexican uniforms, and they're rather nice. I now intend to cover them all in the near future.

Ah, no. These are the Mexicans TheBrickster wants. I thought I'd take a break from Napoleonics. But these'll be done soon, then I'll do Russia.

Aha, I've added this information to your post so it is clear what they are.

And I've started to add all the new torso's from the last weeks to the library.

I look forward to see the Mexian officers, because these were really beautiful.

How many arms would you like? I can do a regular body, or one with a sleeve pinned to the jacket.

Is a sleeve pinned to a jacket similar to this torso?

Does the torso have to be Historic military? Or does it have to be a torso? Because I would like to request a head decal for The ScareCrow of Romney Marsh:

scarecrow.jpg

Here is a link to a video which shows a character who's mask looks like an owl and then one that looks like a skull, could you make those to? Thanks!

Scarecrow! Scarecrow!

The soldiers of the King feared his name. Scarecrow!

On the southern coast of England, there's a legend people tell,

Of days long ago when the great Scarecrow would ride from the jaws of Hell

And laugh (Ahhh! Ha-ha! Ha-ha! Haaa!) with a fiendish yell!

With his clothes all torn and tattered,

Through the black of night he'd ride,

From the marsh to the coast like a demon ghost

He'd show his face then hide (He'd rob the rich then hide)

And he'd laugh (Ahhh! Ha-ha! Ha-ha! Haaa!) till he split his side!

Scarecrow! (Scarecrow!) Scarecrow! (Scarecrow!)

The soldiers of the King feared his name.

Scarecrow! (Scarecrow!) Scarecrow! (Scarecrow!)

The country folk all loved him just the same. Scarecrow!

He would always help the farmer, when there was no gold to bring,

He'd find a way for the poor to pay the taxes of the King

"Scarecrow!" - every man would sing! (With gold from a smuggler's ring!)

So the King told all his soldiers, "Hang him high or hang him low,

But never return till the day I learn He's gone in flames below (He rides in flames below)

Or you'll hang - with the great Scarecrow!"

Scarecrow! (Scarecrow!) Scarecrow! (Scarecrow!)

The soldiers of the King feared his name.

Scarecrow! (Scarecrow!) Scarecrow! (Scarecrow!)

The country folk all loved him just the same.

Scarecrow! Scarecrow! Scarecrow! (Ahhh! Ha-ha! Ha-ha! Ha-ha! Ha-haaa!)

To Phred: What I meant was would you like Nelson like in the second picture, with one of his sleeves attatched to his jacket, and you use a one-armed figure, representing Nelson later on in his career after the loss of his arm, or just a regular body for his earlier battles?

To Norrington: I've never tried heads before, but I'll give it a shot.

Order of doing things: Nelson, Russians, Face

I'm also interested in a Nelson torso, but would prefer a 2 arm version.

I'm not seeing much love for the one-arm idea, so:

Thanks. I look forward to seeing this figure.

No more torsos for you, but I've just realised that Austerlitz Russians are the same as Borodino Russians torso-wise, which helps. So, with them done, I can move onto Spanish and Portugese torsos, and, after that, the Napoleonic Wars is done, and almost any battle can now be recreated, unless anybody wants some torsos for the minor German states.

What era would Eurobricks like me to cover next?

I think we have to award Morsana for his work with the medal of honour for his great torso designs.

I'm considering to change some of my designs to use Morsana's collar designs ...

Those look very nice, but I don't recognise the one on the left. Is it a French Grenadier?

Austrian Ulan

French Ulan 2nd regiment

French Infantry based on a drawing of the occupation of the fort Malborghet

(Austrian Thermophyls, Hptm. Hensel, 1809)

That's my current project. I've already designed the stickers for 20 soldiers. I hope to get the minifigs from a lego seller. And then I want to rebuild a part of the picture.
