z3_2drive Posted December 21, 2012 Hello everyone, heres something I thought up this morning, and turned out great! POWERFUL trike driven by two buggy motors, with servo steering. V2 receivers plus my two 10 volt batteries mean this thing gets CONSTANT wheel spin. Notice in the video it never gets to top speed because it wont stay in a straight line on the wooden floor and tile. Might go for a speed run outside on the asphalt. It's almost impossible to flip. Enjoy! Pics+Video: I love the trans-clear 15l liftarms will post video later...
clarkdef Posted December 21, 2012 Would definatly haul big time. I like the custom battery how did you go about hooking it up?
Saberwing40k Posted December 21, 2012 Where's the video? Anyhow, I think that you should add a body, or at least some flames to it.
Kierna Posted December 22, 2012 Cool as. Reverse trikes are fast! Have you heard of scorpion motorsports? Hond CBR 600 and 1000 powered reverse trikes with F1 style front suspension
z3_2drive Posted December 22, 2012 looks awesome! too bad lego chains are too weak to drive anything with lots of torque and speed....
clarkdef Posted December 22, 2012 looks awesome! too bad lego chains are too weak to drive anything with lots of torque and speed.... What if you double them up, one on each side?
z3_2drive Posted December 22, 2012 What if you double them up, one on each side? Does that help? maybe i'll try it, I'm on winter break so plenty of building time...
clarkdef Posted December 22, 2012 Not sure, I don't seem to have too much of a problem when I turn the chain inside out, seems to make it stronger, but I only have one buggy motor
z3_2drive Posted December 23, 2012 (edited) the video FINALLY finished uploading : also did an outdoor speedtest, It's hard to keep up with EDIT: sound is all screwy after about halfway into video :/ something with format of video when using this camera. aeh5040 Posted December 23, 2012 That's awesome! This trike setup (2 steered wheels in front, 1 powered behind) is great for stability. Maybe you could use 2 wedge wheels + 3 pins in place of those crown gears to keep the wheels on better?
SergLG Posted December 28, 2012 Awesome trike! Will there be a body?
