Darth Dino Posted May 16, 2012 Hi as kid i was a grat fan of Classic Space. And i started my dark age when Blacktron (which i dislike) came up. Rescently i saw someone finding his old Lego collection with a lot of CS. That was truely awsome! I would like to get at least "all" the sets i had as kid, but i do not where to start. Unforunately we did not have a pictoral Classic Space Review index like e.g. Special Themes. I do not know (m)-any setnumbers, so please, how can i get a good overview? I have a memory like a trap, so i can recognise mosts sets i had when i see them. But setnumbers... i allways hated them ;) Dino
LEGO Family Posted May 16, 2012 Bet that was my collection. Glad it brought up that many memories. A few links: http://guide.lugnet.com/set/?qc=lego/system/space/classic http://www.worldbricks.com/lego/lego-instructions/by-year.html At least i hope it will help you. Second link you can choose by year, but it will show all lego creations made. But it did help me to find a few sets i didnt have the manual for. Like for the Airport and a bigger retro space set. Hope it will help you. :)
gotoAndLego Posted May 16, 2012 Browsing Brickset should help as well.
Darth Dino Posted May 16, 2012 Hi yes, indeed, that was your lucky find, Lego Family. Btw thank you for the lugnet link, exactly what i am looking for. Oh my, i had maaaaany Lego CS sets, i really have to thank my parents and grandparents! I will post my former collection when i am ready with the list. There are some sets that i do not 100% remember but i remember their special parts very well. E.g i remember from this set http://guide.lugnet.com/set/6952 the big grey panels in the center and the green canopies, which had many sets, but i had many of them too :) Dino
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted May 16, 2012 There are often good eBay lot deals. You should definitely take a look.
snefroe Posted May 16, 2012 well it depends on how far you are willing to go, honestly. - the best source, imo, is Bricklink.com, which has many sets in several different types of condition, some will have the box, others only the instructions. Bricklink, however, is often not cheap... - Ebay is another option. There are nice deals to be made from time to time, but the classics are always in high demand, especially with a good box, so keep your wallet close to you... - garage sales, bourses, your own network of friends is very often a good way to collect old stuff as well. Unfortunately, in my experience, prices have gone up there as well... - ...
Faefrost Posted May 18, 2012 There is actually a pretty good listing of all of the sets in the set index here. If you click on the master index thread at the top of this forum you will find a link to it. As far as where to start? If it were me, I would start at the beginning. http://www.eurobricks.com/sieg/dex/search.php?mode=page&what=&start=320&sforum=Sci-Fi Set 487 Space Cruiser. Pretty much the first of the truly swoosh able space sets that left the real world behind and rocketed into our imaginations.
