Thanks, legolijntje! I'm downloading it now, so let's see if it finishes properly through dropbox.

I reinstalled the LDraw library and it's working again. I have no idea why it stopped working, but at least it's fixed now. :sweet:

However, I still have the problem with the connected selection mode tool, which selects everything...

Hi everybody,

I'm sorry for delay, but I'm on holidays...

Now I've fixed the download link on my web pages and it should work.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1ZUAZ_rpDkhVDJjSFVmLXM0alU/edit?usp=sharing

For the ones experiencing problems with parts, I recommend you to rebuild the partlist: due to a wrong setting this time the thing is not automated with the updated release.

Please someone feedback

Thanks for your patience.

Sergio

Ok Legolijntje I managed to open the file straight away,I think you must of ether wrote over something or the down load was corrupt. :look:

I made a L3B file and a MLcad file which you can download below.

https://onedrive.liv...&ithint=folder,

But, were you able to select one the the three seperate pieces seperatly with the connected selection tool?

Yes for some reason I could not ether,I wounder if the updated selection modes messed up how it loads your model,It works fine for me if I start a new model, which would have adapted to the changes.

Why are you able to use the connected selection mode properly in the file and I don't? And, I only have the problem in that particular file, but there is nothing special in the file... This is getting really weird and especially very annoying :hmpf_bad:

But, do you already have the newest version of SR3D?

EDIT:

Well, I turned on error detection in the settings and now, when I load the file, it gives an error about a part and that I need to remove the line from the model. I removed the line, I opened the file again and it gave the same error about another line... I wonder how long this is going to take before the errors stop

I don't know if removing the lines would solve the selection problem (I don't think so...). If so, it would be quite weird because you were able to use it without modifying the file...

Oh I missed the 'not'.

When I load your model it selects everything just the same for you.

I am sure it must be something in that file...

Edit

I just flow to home to Stornoway today and just loaded it into my registered 8,3,18 version and it selects the way it should,so my hunch was right.

Do you want too try this 8,3,18 file?

I know that the operation can be automated, but I really dislike automatic parts remove from a model without author acknowledged.

Yes, I know : i can create a removed parts list to submit to the author when operation is completed... I will work on it when I have some time.

Now I 'm on holiday...

I just found a serious bug that is very, very annoying since I'm using it a lot in the model I'm working on:

the connected selection mode just selects everything...

Hi,

I found the bug right now and I fixed it.

Be patient for a new version published, hopefully in a pair of weeks

I'm trying to find part #32494 - the piece that slides over an axle to connect to the female CV joint piece - and I can't seem to find it via the search. It gives me a different part each time... and I can't seem to find it manually either. Where can I find it?

Hi, my installation of SR3D provides this part. So please download the required files (.dat and .jpg) here, here, here and here.

The extension of the file-name gives the location where to save the file. You have to remove this extension.

You also can download the dat-file here: http://www.ldraw.org/library/tracker/

ok?

Thanks for that! I tried searching for 'spindle' within SRB and it appears to have worked. I'm not sure why though... I do actually have the part though, and that's what matters!

EDIT: Looks like my build file got corrupted somehow. I just lost a good half hour's worth of work :sceptic:

It happened again! Are there any issues with differentials in SRB? I can link the files in question if anybody would like to see what exactly is wrong with them. When I try to load them up, parts start loading in, then they disappear, and finally the whole program slows to a crawl while the one part that is still visible turns into a cloud of rainbow-colored pixels.

They work fine with version 7.3.17,I suspect it is a compatibility issue with the newest version,if that is the version you are using.

I did get the installer from the website so I would assume I'm using the latest version then. Is there a way to downgrade to the next version that works?

Hi

I got the files and made some tests.

There are no problems with first file while the second has some problems (known problems...).

The workaround is quite easy: just ensure that the differential is oriented with the orbital gear not coaxial to the external driven gear (sorry for my pour English).

It should work; please feedback...

Sergio

Right then, I've done that. I have the differential oriented as you said, and it still isn't working...

It seems to load properly, without the massive slowdowns that came before, but most of the parts are missing, and I'm getting partial geometry on one of the two parts that's actually visible. As in, one and a half of the holes on the beam are being shown floating in space next to a bevel gear.

Scratch that, it actually crashed the display driver - the actual Nvidia kernel according to the pop-up that appeared - on my graphics card to the point of having everything blank out on my monitors for a few moments. After that, it stopped responding and I had to close it via the Task Manager. I'm afraid I'll have to hold off on using this until I can be sure of not accidentally crashing my system :sceptic:

If you're interested, the third revision of the file can be found here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/84375076/Supercar%20Chassis%203.L3B

The crash happened when I closed the program after I found out that this third file wasn't working correctly. I wanted to take a screenshot to show here, but when I tried to move the camera around the model is when it decided to crash, if that helps with debugging.

Hi,

I'm back from holidays and have just published a new version of the application.

Nothing of complex this time, just a few but necessary bug fixes and the Friends figure support.

Download as usual from the official website: http://sr3dbuilder.altervista.org/

Here is a detailed list of changes:

Fix

- Toolbox behavior when using scaled fonts

- Installation problems: when Part list is not found and it is not the first run of the application it crash

- Connected Selection option was no longer working correctly since last version

- Technic Axle 3L with stud now work better when the stud is inserted in a beam hole

- Trying to hinge rotate a part with sliding mobility leads to unexpected behavior

Added

- Support for Friends figure (under Figure brick type)

Changed

- Better (faster) management of UNDO especially for BIIIG models.

Thanks Sergio! Not a big update, but it includes some nice things nonetheles. Especially the connected selection mode fix is something I've been waiting for

The faster undo and better 3L axle also sound nice, I'm going to try them later today.

Thanks!
