[MOC] Attack aircraft

Recommended Posts

This I found the photo through google, then I did a little research and although I did not find the name at the end I did find it, it is called Ocípete Attack Aircraft. It didn't turn out as I wanted, it turned out very big. I did it in LDD and it came out with a couple of bugs. The first one is that it is very heavy so the "wheels" cannot lower. The second problem is that the wings are unstable, they can't hold (now a little bit) when I thought about making it smaller and better, I was already far advanced, so pass. It has PF and the functions it has is that the cabin is raised, it has landing gear, that is, the wheels go down and up, and the parts of the back of the wings move, and it flies, no that no longer

You should lose some of those bombs to beginn with, no plane can carry that much load.

Second I'd suggest you build in real life first and not in LDD. That the wings can't support their own weight is no suprise, because the design is weak. If you had built it irl you would have noticed it right away. Digital designs almost never work the way you want them to irl, at least in the technic world.

(I'd also suggest to drop LDD because it's trash and move on to LDCad or Stud.io if you have to work digital.)

Never seen a b52 unload? It's impressive. Sure as !@#$ you don't want to be around when it does.

Some of us still run ldd. Why ease of use and runs on older PC or laptops.

And yes ldd to irl never quite is the same.

@brickless_kiwi Well yeah the B52 can carry a lot of bombs, but they are carried inside the aircraft. Show me one plane that has 100% of the wing undersides covered with bombs. It just looks weird.

I’m pretty sure the wing wouldn’t work as a lifting body with a solid wall of bombs under it!

Do you have any pics of the mechanisms and functions?

I really like the shape of the cockpit and nose area.

From memory. It's been a while the a10 has 11 external weapons capable pylons with a max load out weight of about 7500kgs. I was more the gau12 specialist. And airframe.

Admittedly yes I agree with you some of the proportions are not great and the only time I have seen a bomber festooned with bombs has been on public display to make that wow impression. Where as those in the know knew it wouldn't fly in that configuration.

This has a really cool thunderbirds type vibe! The proportions and structure need some work but definitely keep going.

The original concept is by Darek Zabrocki - I don't want to post a direct link in just in case, but google that name there's quite a bit of info on it.

As you can see below, someone has had a go at modelling it in 3d - something is still slightly 'off' with the proportions for me, which just goes to show how difficult recreation is, even without the constraints of bricks.

Now I just realized that there
a video of this one left me impressed, I was guided by the first photo I put of it, and as I have already said, it was a mistake to make it very big

I have come out more like a bomber than an attack plane. And as soon as I can take photos of the cockpit, which by the way is for two pilots when it should be for 1
