GalacticTremor Posted February 3, 2021 (edited) I need this raised baseplate But the best I can do in the UK is Would it be wrong to spray paint it green. Please let me know what you all think because I'm really torn on this. Update...... I decided not to spray it. I covered the yellow and blue with green plates and used a green paint pen to colour over the blue waterfall that goes up the side. This has worked out ok and made for a good compromise that is barely noticeable. Edited February 21, 2021 by GalacticTremor Update
Stuartn Posted February 3, 2021 You have to consider that if you ever want to remove the paint, you will probably remove the printing on the original piece, plus spraying will not achieve the brown and grey details. Are you trying to recreate a set or your own MOC, if it is the latter I'd recommend trying to recreate the structure on a regular baseplate
MAB Posted February 4, 2021 The spray paint will chip horribly when you put parts on painted studs.

Pinnacle Posted February 5, 2021 I think it is never a good idea to spray or paint LEGO-parts or modify the parts in any way. As said before, it will chip off on many places, and on other places, you can never remove it again. As said, think of other solutions.

Minifigure parts paint well and don't chip. Anywhere you are not connecting studs is fine.
Lira_Bricks Posted February 6, 2021 I came across this website where someone paints Bionicle masks: https://modaltmasks.tumblr.com/ There are a few posts on that blog with explanations. Maybe that can help you :)
Grover Posted February 6, 2021 Spray paint usually has volatile organic solvents that can dissolve the ABS, too, so be careful if you try it.
