It looks like from fully manual model (excavator) you went to full motorization

And next, 4ch or 5ch RC. Hint: Big boom.

Mine is way faster, and has more torque.

Sariel calculator says: (L motor gearing added)

M motor: The theoretical output speed will be 185 RPM at 7V and 275 RPM at 9V. The theoretical output torque will be 3.63 N.cm.

L motor: The theoretical output speed will be 346.7 RPM at 7V and 453.4 RPM at 9V. The theoretical output torque will be 3.89 N.cm.

I'm not sure why did you add gearing to the M motor in this calculation. In 42065 the M motor drives directly the sprocket and with the same voltage it's actually a bit faster than the L motor (405 RPM vs 390 RPM @ 9V according to Philo's chart). The L motor has more torque at the same speed for sure.

I did not add gearing to the m motor, see above.

Edit: I realized that Sariel's calculator uses the loaded values not the unloaded ones, although his book says "no-load" speed for the same values.

Yes, but you guys don't get warmth much right? :)

We hit 35 Celcius once last summer. Not half bad if you ask me. Most of the time the average is more around 25 C.

How far north are you? We've only really had up to 35 C in the last years as well.

So far I only got the lightest amount of snow you could get. I took the speeder for a drive, it worked ok, but I modified the rake on the treads, and paneled the underside for then. The things came back off, it is a inside vehicle for now. More pictures tomorrow, I rebuilt the model completely 3 times today, finding new ideas every time, and modified the battery placement.

Ok, I thought it went lower in the summer there.

Hmm, I need to look into this, but I trust sariel's calculator for for now.

1000-1200 km North North/West of Vancouver. Let’s get back to this great MOC!

Thank you, I agree we should get back on topic.

Update:

Newly rebuilt 3 times, still a few improvements left. The snow has melted already sadly, so I couldn't film a video. I made a attachable plow also, secured by two pins.

It appears due to weather, I will be disassembling the speeder. The snow has stopped, and I see no reason to keep it together with no snow.

Apologies to @kbalage, who i am sure would love to have seen a snow video. If anyone has intrest, I am happy to make a LDD file so they can build it.

No snow no fun... it'd be nice to have an LDD file, I'm interested to build it and compare with the 42065 :)

Ok, I will work on it.

Base only, or both parts?

It's up to you, I'm fine with the base only

Alright, a few days or less then I will post it here. Do you want the winch version?

Base LDD file @kbalage, you will need two L motors (88003) and 60 Track links (57518). the l motors connect to the 3L and 2L pins on the edges.

Feel free to post your body, i would love to see it.

LDD file

Why didn't you put the L-motors in the LDD file? - they do exist in LDD...

Really? I didn't see them. I will add them then.

Do you have the latest version (4.3.10) of LDD? - you can find out just by pressing F3.
