None i hate reading books

I'm slowly listening to Dune, the Butlerian Jihad, and am trying to re-read all the Terry Pratchetts over the summer, starting with Guards Guards! and Thief of Time. And, if I cna get around to it, might re-read the Shdow books by Orson Scott Card. I've read them before, and they were quite good. I try and read at least eighty books over summers, so there is a good chance i can get this all in. I just finished Crows and Cards by Joseph Helgerson. Trust me, I love to read.

I have read all of the Dicworld books, I don't own them all yet...

I am thinking of Re-Reading The Old Kingdom books by Garth Nix. They are great reads if you like fantasy.

I am going to Hay on Wye on saturday I can go to my favourite place in the whole world and just look at old books and wander around countless second hand book shops. My head will be full of even more ideas, stories to tell and things to draw/build/write.

I might have a MOC or two to build afterwards.

Pratchett and Heinlien are my to buy list, alongside anything else that takes my fancy.

Currently Reading: Somthing Rotten, by Jasper Fforde.

I'm reading "Op mensen maat: een stof voor socialisme zonder blauwe plekken" by Peter Mertens right now.

It's a book rejecting the free market (and neo-liberalism) and promoting nationalising companies.

I'm not currently reading anything. I did, however, just read Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond. It was a very long, word-heavy book, but it certainly had very good views on the reasons why societies evolved the way they did, and why Eurasians tend to dominate on a sloped playing field. After that, I read Twilight by Stephanie Mayer. (Opposite ends of the spectrum, I know). This one was a quick, easy read, and, although I liked the story, I found some obvious typos and grammatical errors, and the plot was pretty simplistic. I'll probably start reading the second book, New Moon.

Hah, Twilight. Never been to bothered after I read an excerpt and it was so poor... Plus some of the "themes" in there are disturbing.

You mean how "true love" is being happy that your boyfriend breaks into your house each night and watches you sleep? Or how the process growing old IS something to be avoided at all cost and perfectly okay to winge about? Or how about that rather than better yourself as a person, it'd be better to just end up with a vampire spouse and (by the end of the series) an immortal one yourself? Yeah, definitely with you on the weird themes thing.

Finished Tim Winton's The Turning recently. Quite good, excellent characters and writing. But, even though I can handle dark themes, when you have EVERY SINGLE short story in a book end with depression, death, both and more then the writing will definitely get stale the further you read. Little clue Tim; Every once in a while to keep a writer interested, try and showcase one of the brighter aspects of life.

I am reading Bored of the Rings. It is good so far, for a lampoon. That and I have never read the origonal work...

I recommend Chrono Code as a good manga series that is only two volumes long.

I just finished Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451, which I highly recommend reading.

But now I am reading "The Childrens Homer" by Padraic Colum which is probably the second worst book I've ever read (after Sounder), I hate summer reading lists.

With plenty of time to kill on the bus to and from work, I read the StarCraft: Dark Templar trilogy. Only recently started reading the first book, since hard-reading theory books in college severly put of my interest in reading anything. I am yet to purchase the third and final book, altough I will do so in due time.

I'm reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I'm trying to finish it before I see the film. I'm going on Monday and I'm almost done. I've read all the previous ones, but could never be bothered to read this one earlier.

It, like the others, is a great book that I'd recommend them to anyone. Make sure you read the previous 5 first, though!

Today I am reading the manga Pluto.

I only heard of it this lunch time (surfing the net) and found it online. I love it. Tightly plotted, engrossing and an amazing take on the classic Mighty Atom characters. I am only up to chapter 16! I reccomend it if you like SF, Asimov, mystery stories and The Mighty Atom/Astro Boy.
