davidmull Posted June 23, 2016 Hi I want to try build a fairly simple mountain tunnel. Has anyone any ideas or advise for me please? Still new to Mocs so I'm learning. I don't mind using burps and Iv ordered a few to get started. I'd like to build it on a corner on a 32x32 baseplate. I might be limited for space as i have a double loop. Thanks
ShiningOne Posted June 23, 2016 It does sound like space will be very limited on that scale, could you make it with another baseplate as well?
BricksMcgee Posted June 23, 2016 A corner radius of 90 degrees tends to take up a 48x48 radius, allowing for the standard 4 stud clearance at either side of the tracks (vital on corners for even City themed trains!). It's doable on 32x32, but a 48x48 base would make your life a lot easier!
paul_delahaye Posted June 23, 2016 (edited) I experiemented with hills and tunnels a few years ago, and on a 32 x 32 I think you will struggle, not the best picture, but I made a straight hill with tunnel and a corner, but the corner was a little tight. I appreciate it is fairly basic. Edited June 23, 2016 by paul_delahaye

obsidianheart Posted July 12, 2016 I used the old raised baseplate from the Rock Raiders HQ. It works pretty well if you: A) Already have one or don't mind shelling out for one on the secondary market, and B) Don't mind using old greys.
