Hidronax Posted March 6, 2016 (edited) The gold pieces of my Bionicle sets from 2003-2005 in time "tarnish" and I don't know what to do to stop or revert the process. I tried bicarbonate, lemon juice, ammonia, peroxide, soap, salt, leaving a piece in the sun for a couple of hours, casting it in boiling water, putting it in a peroxide glass and leaving it in the sun. No results at all. I was considering painting my Avohkii, but I don't know how to achieve the perfect color. Do you know what paint/dye I might use? I want the piece to match the original 2003 gold from LEGO. Thank you :) Edited March 6, 2016 by Hidronax
Luckypat Posted March 6, 2016 (edited) Have you tried putting the pieces in hydrogen peroxide and leaving them in the sun for a few hours? I had a helmet that was badly yellowed and put it in the sun for a few in the HP. When I took it out, already it was looking better, not completely white, but good enough so I know it works. Just waiting for warm weather to finish off that helmet and some other yellowed pieces. Not too sure if this would work on gold, though? Cobb Posted March 19, 2016 Try rubbing it with some brasso or toothpaste. It might just come off.
