Auroralampinen Posted February 1 Posted February 1 (edited) Well, here is the McLaren F1:). 1675pcs 229.90€ Release date 01.03.2026 First impressions it looks pretty good:). But still not wider rear wheels:(. Edited February 17 by Auroralampinen Quote
Auroralampinen Posted February 1 Author Posted February 1 Ok, i just noticed lego has moved the placement for the HOG gear:). Quote
Auroralampinen Posted February 1 Author Posted February 1 (edited) There is a new panel :). Edited February 1 by Auroralampinen Quote
Auroralampinen Posted February 1 Author Posted February 1 (edited) This inverted/concave panel might be a new element too:). Edited February 1 by Auroralampinen Quote
SNIPE Posted February 1 Posted February 1 These 4 inverted panel types (2 L and 2 R) are not actually new, There's also a third type of inverted panel: 2x3x7 inverted curved Quote

Anio Posted February 1 Posted February 1 I think the model has a linkage mechanism to open the DRS. Quote
Oh_Hi_Mao Posted February 1 Posted February 1 It is overhelming to see every year the same thing... They don't even hesitating to change tyres. Price per piece ration is terrible for non motorized set. And still, every year we get more Quote
gheneli Posted February 1 Posted February 1 (edited) Another F1? Really? I imagined people had enough of F1 cars last year, both in Technic and Creator / Icons... Have they really run out of ideas? Edited February 1 by gheneli Quote

Timorzelorzworz Posted February 1 Posted February 1 (edited) One who spends that much money on fake wheels and stickers that come loose is beyond help. 230€, far from reality our dansk friends Edited February 1 by Timorzelorzworz Quote
R0Sch Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Oh FFS, is it really that hard to make wider tire and rim at this price point?! Looks like too many have bought the previous F1 models or they wouldn't cheap out the 5th time in a row. Quote
Zerobricks Posted February 1 Posted February 1 I wonder if the DRS is connected to the gearbox. It would make sense! Other than that I don't see any new parts/innovations. Quote
2GodBDGlory Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Very little interest in this set--unless, of course, it has handy new parts! Quote
williamyzfr1 Posted February 1 Posted February 1 (edited) I'll be up for it when its on Amazon for £150 just to add to the F1 collection. Shame about the same sized wheels but if they did bring out larger rear wheels I would feel compelled to upgrade/retrofit to the others. Edited February 1 by williamyzfr1 Quote
langko Posted February 2 Posted February 2 I must be one of the few that’s actually excited for this set. This one looks so much better than the original (42141) they released. Yes it sucks about the rear tires still not being wider, but it’s still a massive improvement on the tires that we got with 42141. I never bought that set because it looked terrible, and haven’t bought any of the other F1 cars because it didn’t make sense to me to buy the teams I don’t support. So I’m looking forward to finally having an F1 car in the collection (once it goes on sale as always). Quote

I added later wheels, tyres & wheel inserts which improved things immensely but the whole car still looks like a prototype for later Lego F1 cars. I have them all so yes, I will buy the next one when discounted. Edited February 5 by williamyzfr1 Quote
Auroralampinen Posted February 16 Author Posted February 16 Here is the 42228 box with it’s nice beautiful artwork:). Msacras;). Quote
Auroralampinen Posted February 17 Author Posted February 17 New pictures:). Offical page is up:). https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/mclaren-mcl39-f1-car-42228 The gearbox controls the rear wing:). Quote
Jockos Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I'm not interested in the set, but I have to admit it has a really nice, clean look. I haven't spotted any new parts only recolours. Quote
Oh_Hi_Mao Posted February 17 Posted February 17 It looks good but the front "nose" is the worst Quote
