I'd go for 'animal' :-)

You do know that being Scottish is a protected characteristic and I can take this to HR?

Anyways - it’s the haggis that are ‘animals’. Bagpipes are instruments of melodious delightfulness!

Think I need to dust off my suggestions for a Scotland themed CMF. Started it as joke, then became too invested in what I thought would be awesome figures IRL. Haggis is long overdue as a Lego food mould, for sure.

A plaid bag of skin that screams in battle? I think the word you're looking for is "Scotsman."

Aren't bagpipes just a dead haggis?

Look, just cos we make everything out of sheeps’ stomachs doesn’t mean they’re all the same!

I’m on a mission now to get the Lego bagpipes resurrected.

I will gladly join you. Series 7 came out during my dark ages, so the Bagpiper is on the list of older CMF figs that I wish I could have. Plus, it would be cool to get an updated version with proper dual molded and printed legs.

It would be nice if the ronin came with a new belt scabbard mold:

Robot T-Rex I assume is probably a costume but could be cool if it's a Grimlock/Mecha Godzilla esque figure instead.

If it is a mecha G inspired fig, than I'm very interested. It would pair well with Super Warrior from Series 20. Actually, Trash Monster vs Robot T-rex sounds very suitmation/tokusatsu.

Okay, someone venturing “ronin” and my Japanese integration jjust kicks in again…. I want to see a leaked photo!

I think we’re all just eager to see a leak of the full list at this point. The written list and the trash monster and unicorn elf (without their accessories) have leaked, so somebody has one and is just leaving us to stew.

Could the ronin be female?

Would that make sense?

A ronin who is mysterious because she’s concealing her true gender like a Japanese version of Mulan would certainly make some sort of sense.

Whether that’s the path Lego has chosen for the character is another question entirely.

My guess is:

male:

chocolatier

marine biologist

bionicle cosplayer

tuba player

monster hunter

female:

soccer goalkeeper

cute witch

unicorn elf

boba cup fan

ronin

neither/non human:

trash monster

robo t-rex

Depends on how loosely you would like to apply the term ronin. There were female warriors in Japan.

Lego likes juxtaposing genders so I would not be surprised.

I assume the Robot T-Rex is a costume (A recolor of the S24 one)

If it was a costume I’d expect it to be specifically identified as such like the Boba fan or Bionicle cosplayer. It’s not like we haven’t gotten plenty of robots in the past – we’re kinda overdue for one that’s a little more animalistic.

monster hunter

I think the monster hunter is a coin flip between man (Van Helsing) and woman (Buffy Summers). Personally, I’d put better eyes on a girl considering the number of Buffy the Vampire Slayer submissions that have shown up on Ideas in recent years.

Historically, I only know that there were female warriors defending white households, family’s and/or honors in times of war in fedual Japan.  They were members of Bushi (warrior) class and were reaping in the use of weapons.  Those female warriors were  called onna-musha

But I know th a rate female samurai in popular video games like Ghost of Tsushima / Yotei. I can see why people in Lego like to make gender equality that way.

Still, i wonder why Kessler married ronin for Lloyd becuase of his superance (face or outfit). If it’s jsut an outfit, i think it’s easy to assume ronin would be female.

…. See? Every time someone mentions “ronin”, I woudl go crazy and blalber about Japanese culture. It’s my obression - I’m totally fond of Japan.

The marine biologist is also 50:50 I‘d say :classic: In general, the only one guaranteed to have a specific gender is the Cute Witch, the rest could go either way

Well, Cute Witch and Unicorn Elf, who we’ve already seen and can confirm is female (although the knowledge that she uses the Wonder Woman hair and tiara would still have been a giveaway even if we hadn’t seen a picture).

Chocolatier might be more like to be a man because of the specific reference to Willy Wonka.

Marine Biologist might also be a man because the last one was a woman (same thing happened with the zookeepers).

I doubt it would be a recolored certain of that T-Rex costume as this pieces are too realistic to be robotic.  Maybe just an existing tail piece but not mask.

I mean - they reused the French bulldog as a ‘robot’, so …
