Hello everyone!

After 6 weeks of intense construction, my new project is finally ready.

Foresmen's River Fortress

Forestmen's River Fortress MOC by Edge of Bricks

I'd had the idea for a Forestmen project in my head for a while. Ever since I got my hands on GWP 40567, in fact.

After a while, I had a small army of Forestmen, and it was only a matter of time before they got their own MOC.

Initially, I planned to build my own version, but then I thought a remaster of a set would be much more interesting.

I didn't hesitate for long and chose River Fortress, as this set offered the greatest potential for expansion.

Yep, what a good scaling up and reimagining of the original! I love that you've left the back open to access the interior - really helps with the playability of the whole MOC, and I like your choice to leave some (random?) studs bare on the ground floor to resemble rough stones.

Maybe I should do something with my copy of the GWP?

Looks absolutely fantastic!

I think  you should try to make the back enclosed that can open up  with hinges like in the original.  I am not a fan of open back castles.

Some good color choices here. For example, the dark brown flooring complements nicely with the black trees and the dark transparent blue water.
Good scale of the furniture, and enough to fill the rooms.
I like your solution for the crenellations. Normally, the higher part would be on the corner end of each wall section, but you just turned it around.
The parts I'm less convinced with are the height above water level of the cell and the deck next to it. The prisoner could drown if a flood came through. And the choice of those 1x4 spaghetti tubes for the windows on the angled wall sections. It clashes a bit with the overall angular theme of the MOC.

@jimmynick "studs bare on the ground floor to resemble rough stones." I actually treat it as a place to attach minifigs, I didn't look at it that way

@DonQuixote In this case I didn't want to build up the back, so I made a completely open version for playing.

Flooding wouldn't have happened because the real tower would have had a wall. Unless a wall leaked, then the prisoner would have been out of luck :)

The more I look at those 1x4 parts, the more I think you're right. I think I'll replace them.

This is pretty cool, love this design adaptation into a modern version. Black trees and the two colours of leaves really work well.
