Generic Lotus Sports car is what we are missing in this year's Technic Line up.

I have no more wishful thinking for the remaining three (or one) sets which yet to be revealed.

Technic theme shifted to the other direction I would prefer and that is okay, because a lot of people enjoy collecting cars like I enjoyed collecting heavy duty machinery and helicopters.

Today I bought 42053 from eBay. It was the last old set which I was aiming to own. Maybe it is good time to start looking for another hobby

If only all those parts in current sets could be used to make things you prefer to build…

Currenlty I am a collector not a MOCer. In the past I created rope showel excavator, but tbh making my own creations is not something I enjoy much, it is how it is.

It's quite easy for you guys to get some discontinued sets, which I'm pretty envious of. Most of the older sets here are out of stock.

Don't do that... don't give us hope for a decent Technic model this year.

Maybe Lego "surprises" us again with a rehashed version of 42088/42031 :D

Was about to say that. It would be something I could be interested in, if it was done creatively with at least a path to motorization of all the functions. Depends on the scales and techniques used. Working crane along driving would be interesting.

I hope it WON'T use 42209's wheels (i.e. it will have a bigger scale).

me too, I wonder how it will be better than the 2011 unimog, maybe all mechanical and no pneumatics? maybe have a transmission and be RC? (1 motor for drive. one for steering, and at least 1 for the functions)

Maybe a way to make the dumping be sideways or rear-ward with a selector lever.

I wouldn't count on any motorization as it seems the current system is being phased out. I think it will be pneumatic as last year hasn't offered any pneumatic set.

I have a Unimog 5023 MOC in the works since last year, what a nice coincidence! I've been sitting on it since I don't know what accessory to put in the back. If this is true I'll  turn this MOC into a mini replica

I hope for redesigned portal hubs that won't rub on defender wheels. The rest is OK with me, but not overwhealming...

Either that, or an upscaled replica; do we have dimensions, price or part count for the set yet?

Not yet. But release date is june 1 i think the reveal will be early may or end of april:).

Not yet, only age recommendation which is 11+. That puts it in the territory of 42157 and 42128.

42129 and 42145 are also 11+. I think 42242 is the motorized flagship of this year.

That's some interesting / unexpected news!

I wonder what innovations it has besides the cab design?

It would present a good opportunity to introduce an updated portal hub design that fits into the Defender rim, and is thus much better in terms of steering. I don't know if I should hold my breath for that though..

What scale do we think it will be? I think it must be smaller then the first one considering a modern version of that one would likely be more than 250$. And I think at a price point like that modern Lego would just make it 18+, not 11+.

My guess is that it'd be a 42129 reskin (because mine is also one ).

The "18+" classification isn't affected by price or complexity, but more by target audience. An example of that is 42223.
