I have no more wishful thinking for the remaining three (or one) sets which yet to be revealed. Technic theme shifted to the other direction I would prefer and that is okay, because a lot of people enjoy collecting cars like I enjoyed collecting heavy duty machinery and helicopters. Today I bought 42053 from eBay. It was the last old set which I was aiming to own. Maybe it is good time to start looking for another hobby If only all those parts in current sets could be used to make things you prefer to build… Quote

In the past I created rope showel excavator, but tbh making my own creations is not something I enjoy much, it is how it is. Quote

Jockos Posted Thursday at 06:28 AM Posted Thursday at 06:28 AM 42242 Mercedes-Benz Unimog U 5023 with Crane Quote
AVCampos Posted Thursday at 07:55 AM Posted Thursday at 07:55 AM That description sounds a lot like 8110. I wonder what innovations it has besides the cab design? Quote

It would be something I could be interested in, if it was done creatively with at least a path to motorization of all the functions. Depends on the scales and techniques used. Working crane along driving would be interesting. Quote

Jockos Posted Thursday at 08:56 AM Posted Thursday at 08:56 AM I hope it WON'T use 42209's wheels (i.e. it will have a bigger scale). Quote

(1 motor for drive. one for steering, and at least 1 for the functions) Maybe a way to make the dumping be sideways or rear-ward with a selector lever. Quote

I wouldn't count on any motorization as it seems the current system is being phased out. I think it will be pneumatic as last year hasn't offered any pneumatic set. Quote

I've been sitting on it since I don't know what accessory to put in the back. If this is true I'll turn this MOC into a mini replica Quote
AVCampos Posted Thursday at 10:18 AM Posted Thursday at 10:18 AM Either that, or an upscaled replica; do we have dimensions, price or part count for the set yet? Quote

gyenesvi Posted Thursday at 10:42 AM Posted Thursday at 10:42 AM That's some interesting / unexpected news! 2 hours ago, AVCampos said: I wonder what innovations it has besides the cab design? It would present a good opportunity to introduce an updated portal hub design that fits into the Defender rim, and is thus much better in terms of steering. I don't know if I should hold my breath for that though.. Quote
LTA5 Posted Thursday at 11:22 AM Posted Thursday at 11:22 AM What scale do we think it will be? I think it must be smaller then the first one considering a modern version of that one would likely be more than 250$. And I think at a price point like that modern Lego would just make it 18+, not 11+. Quote

Ngoc Nguyen Posted Thursday at 12:40 PM Posted Thursday at 12:40 PM I suppose the 42242 would go for a midbody crane to make it different from the old 8011. Quote
msk6003 Posted Thursday at 01:33 PM Posted Thursday at 01:33 PM I hope it use same tire with 8110. It will be great succeeder. Quote
