starlego98 Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Take it with a grain of salt, but someone on the Star Wars subreddit posted a photo of a store's POS scanner, and the set 75143 appears labeled as SW UT-AT. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post photos or links here — could someone confirm this? Thanks! Quote

Maybe it was originally going to be a UT-AT and the name stuck for a bit after it changed to a Turbo Tank? I remember with the TLJ transport pod set it was put on shelves in some stores with the tag on the shelf saying "honey jar ship" which I guess was the preliminary pseudonym or something. Of course, I hope it really is a UT-AT but we've had some pretty credible people saying it's not. Quote

Of course, I hope it really is a UT-AT but we've had some pretty credible people saying it's not. I think this explanation is most likely. I could definitely see the UT-AT being the original idea, and then the designers/whoever deciding that Turbo Tank would sell better (let's face it, it's way more recognizable, especially since it showed up in Mando, and as a toy, it probably is more appealing - giant tank with 10 wheels versus a hovertank that would probably just look like a rectangle with a cockpit and gun) but included the Galactic Marines still. Also, after the whole Target Temple of Doom thing, I'm wary about point-of-sale leaks (I know that situation was different, but still). Quote

Llewop Posted May 10 Posted May 10 In all the years I’ve followed news for leaks never seen so much randomness and inconsistency around a set. I’ve seen the thing on Reddit saying it’s a UT-AT and not a turbo tank. Leakers are saying it’s a turbo tank and not a UT-AT. Surely if things are showing in stores they would have the right name, but then also why is it showing up ready in stores 3 months before release? Surely Lego would be sending out info of set number and name a few months in advance? They announced K2S0 in April which is an August set so if they had pictures ready for that and finalised the rest of the wave should be the same surely. i’m trying not to moan but it’s just so strange. Hopefully pictures will come soon and clear it all up. I’m probably on my own here with it being my most anticipated set but I just want to do an old school battlefront 2 MOC with the marines. I want to enjoy some nostalgia lol. Quote
ForgedInLego Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Just finished Jango's Slave 1 and wow, this build is great. I didn't hate the stickers as much as I thought I would since they were spread out pretty well across the build and I'm not one of the people who obsesses over minifigs so no complaints there either. The way the shaping effortlessly falls into place for the base without sacrificing strength is nothing short of incredible. I know a lot of people have already written off this whole year, but IMO this one set makes up for all of it (of course only if you want to spend $300 on Legos) The door and ramp mechanism looks suspiciously similar to the one I put on a MOC I posted a couple years ago though.... Leakers make logical assumptions. The figure lineup points to anything but a Turbo Tank, and everything to a UT-AT Along the way, there must have been a specific leak pipeline that knew some form of Turbo Tank was coming, hence the original rumour of its being Rebuild the Galaxy. Yeah this really annoys me too We know they have the set images all ready to go but are just sitting on them - at least until they inevitably leak and Lego pulls their surprise Pikachu face. It wouldn’t feel as annoying if most other themes’ summer sets hadn’t already been revealed (nor if a set from the Star Wars summer wave hadn’t already been revealed almost a month ago!). I’m beating a dead horse but that buildable K2 or the buildable Wicket should have been a Fondor Haulcraft instead. People have been talking about that ship enough since 2022 for Lego to at least be aware it’s highly requested. 13 hours ago, ForgedInLego said: Just finished Jango's Slave 1 and wow, this build is great. If i did my math correctly, based on the one and only @CloneCommando99 calculations, we are at Day #19 now. So, i finally got to build the Kamino Training Facility set and am very happy with it. As far as character accuracy goes, the Clone Cadets are probably as close to perfection as you can get. Did not expect Lego to give them both arm printing and dual moulded (already available Santa) legs. I mean, these GWPs always come down to a "damn if you do - damn if you don't" kinda situation. If the set is well executed, everyone and their mother hates the extra paywall and is asking for a regular release. If it's not appealing or a no-show to begin with, of course, everyone else is disappointed. Just think it's about nailing that sweet spot between popularity and obscurity, tend to go with the latter since Star Wars Day kinda speaks more to hardcore fans of the franchise. And in that regard, this year's GWP excels more than the Trade Federation Troop Carrier from 2024. Like, you could make that distinction between a good set and a bad choice for a GWP. Personally appreciate the long awaited return of minifigures for the May the 4th Promo. Combined with some actual builds, it basically makes up for a best of both worlds approach, combining the old and more recent GWPs. I hope they stick with this format for the foreseeable future. In my mind I’m praying that leakers reveal on Wednesday that the Christmas AT AT is actually the Death Star GWP with a single figure. And the £80 Lego Exclusive set will end up with the 3 figs (Cassian, Stormtrooper and Range Trooper) and be a Tie Avenger. Hence why there’s been such confusion. It’s a delusional idea though. And my theories (apart from V-19) have never turned out to be true. I still wince from the memory of my theorising that last year’s Young Leia set was actually a Zillo Beast with Omega or that the X-Wing vs Tie was a New Republic set. What Clone vehicle types will be left undone after this year? If we figure that out, we know what to expect next year. Edited May 11 by CloneCommando99 Quote

Yes, it could have used more support on the rear, but it shouldn't be a deal breaker. The stand I built for Obi Wan's Delta 7 is much less stable, and still I'm not too worried about it. Without the Kamino GWP you might want to wait to see if the system scale one is any good first, but this is gotta be one of if not the best UCS sets ever made Quote

CallumPears Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Maybe the reason it costs so much is because there's a side-build of an entire UT-AT Quote

All of the other sketches have seemingly been directly traced over their original images, and this one looks like that too, so it's kinda exactly what it's going to look like and I feel like it's pretty fair to at least judge it a little based on the sketched outline. Imo, it does look pretty alright based on what we can gather from the sketch, but still nowhere approaching worth the price. Also, the Inquisitor Transport Scythe might be a fairly good point of comparison for this. It looks like it'll be about the same size, and it has ~100 more pieces, the same number of minifigs, and the same number of new/revived moulds (3) (4 if you count Obi-Wan's exclusive cloth cape, which would put it ahead), and yet it costs significantly less money. I'm looking at the last Turbo Tank and I just can't tell how this is only 830 pieces, even with what's just there in the picture. The last one was 100 more pieces, and these look to be about the same size- almost exactly. Even if we remove the AT-RT, the brick built wheels mean this should be MORE pieces than the 2016 model, not less. (There are some other minor differences- the middle section appears to be shorter and some frontal details are missing, but to counter that the underside of the vehicle appears to be significantly more detailed) Either the piece count is wrong or this thing literally doesn't have an interior.
