I'VE NOTICED TOTAL DECLINE IN LEGO IN LAST COUPLE YEAR BUT I WOULD NEVER BELIEVE THEY WOULD COME DOWN THIS LOW! HELL THEY DID! MEGABLUCK THIS SHIT! MEGABLUCK THIS GARBAGE! I HATE LEGO!!! Someone got loose from the Aslume! Anyways, The CMF and Miles Mask that got officially revealed just today range from cool to Amazing! Both look really cool to me because I'm gonna display it with the Spot set earlier this year as a Miles Morales/Spider Verse display. Quote
brickbride Posted June 1 Posted June 1 The CMF series looks just about as I expected: a ton of red and blues and not really anything of interest to anyone who's not crazily into these movies. Don't get me wrong, everything looks very well-done, and the baby, cat, horse, and werewolf mask are all very cute, but what would I need any of them for? It's not like, say, Marvel series 2 or the DND series where you could take Agatha or Tasha and stick them into your Harry Potter sets for additional variety. I'm wondering how these are going to sell given how niche they look, and given that even the fans here seem to be unhappy with the selection. (And now I'm leaving before I'm getting bludgeoned again for suggesting that those movies are 'niche' instead of the greatest movies of all time or something.) Quote

As someone who isn't a fan of these movies, there's nothing here for me. This will be a very niche line compared to the previous Marvel ones. Quote
THELEGOBATMAN Posted June 1 Posted June 1 Awesome series. It's a dream come true for a huge fan of the Spider-Verse movies. Gwen looks incredible, such an upgrade over the bodega version. So does everyone though, they are all amazing. Miguel has a cool cape, and Mayday looks fantastic. Sun-Spider is kind of boring though, but the only minifigure I actually dislike is Prowler Miles. Why did they make him lavender? That looks awful. Quote
Borex Posted June 1 Posted June 1 (edited) I like what i see here. Probably will be buying a full roster. my opinion: Miles: a bit boring that plain spider, isnt it? I like his suit. Could be more interesting Punk: we have a winner. He looks marvelous. Great hair and spiked mohawk. Also useful for figbarfing Prowler: I don’t really like Prowler. How does that mask even work? And wasn’t a printed minifig head not sufficient enough in this case? Cool hair though. Spidergwen: i think the best detailed version yet? Printed tiles are always nice to get 2099: looks good! I have a good bootleg version and might mix-and-match to make him better. Who is the microfig that he has? India: yeah, good. Great spidercat as well. I don’t really like his face print (it feels like a disney prince) but i’ll keep him with his mask on anyway Cyborg, yeah cool. Great match for the cyborg spidey from that book. Was she in the movie? I like her mouthpiece (too bad it is attached to that shoulderpad) Sunspider: don’t know her as well, but she’s looking good and i really like the crutches and that salad bowl as helmet. Could have needed dual molded legs spyderbyte: looks a bit Dreamzzzzy, so i am glad she comes with a helmet as well. Printed piece is good Peter and baby are looking solid. Nothing too special, but needed nevertheless. Webslinger: two variants. Pretty funny to think that the lasso spidey is trying to catch horsey spidey. Werewolf spidey: i really like lego werewolves so i might need two of them. One for the spidey variants and one for my werewolfpack If i should have changed a figure i guess it would be Prowler into bombastic bagman. Especially with the new FF set, and i would have given it the same style as the FF now has, but with dual molded legs so we can upgrade our FF crew as well Edited June 1 by Borex Quote
Darth Shadowthrone Posted June 1 Posted June 1 I'm very very excited for this series! Miles, Gwen, Spider-Punk, Spider-Man India and 2099 are all must-haves in my opinion and I might get Peter-Parker just to complete the main roster. Part of what makes this so good is their unmasked heads being included - I'm thinking that I'll display them all suited-up and then make a vignette of them all chilling out in civilian clothes with their alternate heads and awesome hairpieces. BrickBob Studpants Posted June 1 Posted June 1 While some of the choices are pretty obscure, they make for excellent-looking figures and are just plain fun. CMF providing fun side characters without any plot relevance isn‘t a new thing! While I understand some people would‘ve preferred Peni oder Spider-noir to be featured, they‘d be much better suited for an ITSV set. I hope the bodega set and the CMF do well so we can have more ITSV and ATSV sets in the future! And while we’re at it, more Raimi trilogy sets too! Not sure what exactly the roadblock with Sony was, but I‘m so glad it‘s out of the way now! Quote
CF Mitch Posted June 1 Posted June 1 The Collectable Spider-Minifigure Series looks great! Lots of new molds, I believe, and I like that several of the masked figures have alternate heads and hairpieces to unmask them Regards, Mitch Quote

Regardless of whether or not I pick up anyone else, I'm getting Miguel. Sun-Spider is boring though I'll be happy to pick those crutches up on BL- perfect Truncheons- but Kilometers Immorales is CLEARLY the odd one out here being he's not even a spider-man. Why is this not the Uncle Aaron Prowler? 5 hours ago, BrickBob Studpants said: While some of the choices are pretty obscure, they make for excellent-looking figures and are just plain fun. CMF providing fun side characters without any plot relevance isn‘t a new thing! To be fair, they could have chosen side characters with no plot relevance but more relevance elsewhere- as I've said, Unlimited and Future Foundation style suits would both be fan favorites for this series if they'd been made, instead of characters like sun-spider or werewolf or cyborg spider-woman that most people are considering the weaker parts of the series. The new Rivals update makes me glad I picked up the new iron man mech- Ultron is awesome in that game. And once more another update, another convoy payload that'd be a perfect set build, another batch of skins and characters that would make s-tier minifigures. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted June 1 Posted June 1 1 minute ago, Mandalorianknight said: Why is this not the Uncle Aaron Prowler? Simple, because it's exclusively based on ATSV. Sure, you could argue they should've based the series on both films, but focussing only on the sequel makes it cleaner and easier branding-wise. Is there even a Spiderverse trilogy logo they could've used? Luckily, they can always release the ITSV Prowler in a regular set! Quote

They could've just dropped the subtitle from the logo and it'd work fine, I think Quote

The only issue with Peni, Noir, Spider-Ham, or any of the ITSV villains being in a set is that they will very likely be of lesser print quality than a CMF version would have been. The difference with Gwen alone is staggering. Heck, Noir could have been given a Rubik's Cube for his accessory, which is arguably more interesting than half of the accessories in this series. Quote

Except they would‘ve needed a license for that. Probably not worth it just for an accessory in a CMF series Then again, they did acquire the Barbasol license for the 30th anniversary Jurassic Park Jeep set! Then again again, that can was plot-relevant whereas the Rubik‘s cube isn‘t. Quote
benderisgreat Posted June 2 Posted June 2 Spider verse Clf looks amazing as expected. Peter B. Parker, Spider Gwen, Spider-man India and Miguel look like they are a must buy day one. Miles, Spider-Punk and Prowler look good as well and the rest are just filler(even if they look very detailed). The only question I have about this series is why not release it in 2027 when Spider verse 3 comes out in theaters? Seems weird to release tie-in cmf when it’s movie is 2 years away. Would have preferred Lego to release regular marvel Cmf this year and move Spider verse one to may 2027. Quote

At the time the CMF would have gone into production it was still believed BTSV was going to be releasing in late June 2025, I think delaying it would have messed up their production schedules too much as they would have had to switch it out for another series. Until now, that is. Also, if it was intended as a BTSV tie-in, then the minifig roster being based on ATSV wouldn‘t make much sense unless they finalised the selection after BTSV got moved. In that case, they might‘ve delayed the series altogether tho. My stance is that they do the series now because A) Spidey is always popular and B) they wanted to release SV stuff before and only recently finally reached a deal with Sony, and now want to release a CMF asap Quote
kevkipo Posted June 2 Posted June 2 (edited) I think a movie like this remains in the zeitgeist a bit longer than say the most recent Marvel movie, it's quite iconic but next to that also visually stunning. It's like lego releasing Endgame sets way after it's release, it's memorable. No need at all to wait another 2 years for the (probably) final Spiderverse movie. I'm also so glad we get diversity in sets / series this way, Lego shines when it does stylized / animated imo. Edited June 2 by kevkipo Quote

Swordy Posted June 3 Posted June 3 (edited) Sad to be late to share in the excitement–or lack thereof, as the case may be–in the Spider-Verse CMF leak. All I can say is, in the words of PG Deadpool, LET'S GO! I wish the CMF had shared representation between the two Spider-Verse films, as opposed to being solely focused on Across. This is definitely true of Miles and Prowler; both are neat variants, but I would've rather them in a Beyond set instead of here. Gwen also seems unoriginal at best, and lazy at worst; if the mold was in production for this CMF, why not move it up to the Bodega, then allow for the CMF figure to have greater creative liberty? Earth-63 watercolour stylization or 1610 casual attire, as I had purported, would've been better appreciated. Of course, though, I'll still buy the figure for that hair piece, and the Bodega for Jefferson and Spot–so TLG has played their cards well. I'm madly in love with the rest of the figures, though. The selection is still weird–for the last time, why no Jessica Drew–but all the same are well done as CMFs always are. Instead of going through each one or keeping my statement short and sweet, I'll list the figures in order of priority for myself. Disclaimer: as a huge Spider-Verse fan, it's liable that I purchase all of these. Spider-Punk Spider-Man India (I'll need an extra of these top two to give to my family members who are fans as well; besides that, these two are arguably the best of the series overall.) Spider-Man 2099 (The face print looks remarkably similar to the character.) Prowler (That helmet mold is sweet!) Peter B. and Mayday (Peter's face looks off, somehow, possibly in the eyebrows. On the other hand, Mayday does not disappoint.) Spider-Gwen (The dual-molded shoes irks me. They're sneakers, not army boots. Anyway, I love that photo of Miles and Gwen.) Web-Slinger (Surpisingly, I like this guy a lot. Unfortunate that the horse is too small.) Spider-Byte (Sure, why not? She's a neat variant and has a role in the movie.) Charged-up Miles (Again, a neat variant and somewhat memorable. Might have preferred a battle-damaged look, though, and of course his "What's Up Danger?" suit would've topped this entire list.) Cyborg Spider-Woman (the pieces are more interesting than the sum of them. Far less inclined to get this figure and the next two than the previous figs. Also, how in the world does the figure convey it is a woman? At this point it's mere lip service.) Werewolf Spider-Man (Surprisingly not too bad. Werewolves are not my thing one bit, but it's well executed.) Sun-Spider (This is the most unnecessary figure in this CMF. Walmarts and Targets across the globe will be filled with this figure for how boring and unmemorable this character is. What gets me most of all, though, is that TLG didn't bother with dual-molding the legs.) Edited June 3 by Swordy Quote
Agent Kallus Posted June 3 Posted June 3 4 hours ago, Swordy said: Also, how in the world does the figure convey it is a woman? At this point it's mere lip service. What? It's Because the character in movie is a woman. And the figure is of that character. If you're complaining about the gender of one specific random background Spider-Man in the movie itself then I don't know what to say to that, I mean there were tonnes of them. Yeah, if they'd had to delay this series too late in the game there might not've been anything ready to replace it and we're already down one series this year thanks to the multicoloured but otherwise identical racecars. Lip service more for TLG's diversity in their CMFs. The Series 26 had an equal distribution, for instance. I for one find the practice wholesome as much as it is sadly corporate. Granted, this series only a third are women, but the movies themselves have more male characters than female protagonists, so that's understandable. For the first 48 hours of staring at the images without looking to this thread or anywhere else, I thought the figure was a man from some shot in the movie. Then I finally looked here for reactions as I was writing my post to then, and only then, realize it was a Spider-Woman. So, in effect, one of the four female minifigs shouldn't count since the one place informing you its a woman is the pamphlet. No, I'm not complaining about the gender of one specific background Spidey or any of them. I'm complaining that this figure was included likely for diversity sake–since obviously they couldn't include FF or Bombastic Bag-man or even Metro Boomin' Spider-Man for the 1% of us who'd care for that reason–and yet the diversity is nonexistent in the figure itself. It's like calling something... oh, I don't know, a bacon cheesecake and yet there's no cheese. Quote
Agent Kallus Posted June 3 Posted June 3 (edited) Okay, that's makes more sense. I mean not every woman has to be feminine but I agree that she wasn't a great pick, especially with her incredibly visually similar male variant being a recent book figure. Edited June 3 by Agent Kallus Quote

It was probably actually a top-down decision from Marvel/Sony, Cyborg Spider-Woman was in a frankly insane amount of merchandising around the time of the film's launch - presumably she at one time had a MUCH bigger role than the background appearance she had in the final film. I'd speculate that this CMF was planned for quite a long time before finally being released this year, and they just didn't bother to remove her. Quote
CF Mitch Posted June 5 Posted June 5 So, with the official reveal of the One Piece sets, first thing I thought was 'oh, cool new minifigure parts!', and then at the third set Brickset shows, there's a Luffy with very long, bendy arms. And now all I can think is, "why the MegaBlocks didn't LEGO use that for Reed Richards?! " [/rant] Regards, Mitch Quote
