Hopefully the Endor bunker, maybe something from Andor S2 or Skeleton Crew. I feel like we have a shot at a remake of TIE Advanced vs Y-wing. It's been a long time since our last version of both models, and the $110ish starfighter two-pack has become a lego staple. We were getting an AT-ST every three years between 2016-2022. I wouldn't be shocked if we saw another variant one (maybe a head-included FO AT-ST to get characters like Kylo and Rey on shelves) soon. Quote

I think Leia and Cal kind of make sense from Lego's perspective, in so far as that they probably just aren't interested in making any more sets for either of those series, but they still FEEL like something we probably could have got from dedicated sets (in the case of Leia, back when the show aired). I think most of the anniversary figures are pretty good and they're certainly better than nothing, they just feel like odd choices. I guess Lego likely wanted to strike a balance between "unlikely to appear in a dedicated set" and marketability, but it still feels like there's room for improvement to me. It's a shame that TLG built a set based on the Black Spire novel tie in and won't build a Jedi Fallen Order/Survivor set, especially when the Mantis and Purge Troopers are so cool. Quote

To be fair, I think that was more on the wider theme park, which was pretty heavily pushed, rather than specifically one novel. (Not that that's great either, but it's a different type of bad choice) But I completely agree- the Jedi games are one of the best things to come out of the disney era- I'd be so bold as to say the second best after Andor, and my personal favorite- and unlike Andor they have a variety of toyetic and family-friendly set concepts. Any of the many duels, the Purge Troopers, the Mantis itself, and the giant creatures. Edited November 1, 2024 by Mandalorianknight Quote

Tbf, the set was based off the ride at Disney, Rise of the Resistance, not the novel, but yeah, it’s so weird they won’t do a single Fallen Order/Survivor set. Quote

But… A month ago, Lifebricks made a few hints for next year. I don’t trust him. But the Night Trooper Battlepack fits #2’s description relatively well, especially if it does end up including Enoch. And he did supposedly somehow know some of the summer sets before they were leaked in January. If so, would a Meson Martinet with the Crimson Corsair himself fit the bill for #3? The Martinet is also playable in LSWTSS, which suggests that they do have some sort of prototype. Plus with pirates featuring prominently in skeleton crew Sidon and his crew could show up. It’s probably nothing though. I’ve probably just spent a bit too much time in the DC Discussion thread. Edited November 1, 2024 by CloneCommando99 Quote

That's not the "cool edgy loner" archtype. 2: Fully fleshing out her backstory in a novel - this is like direct self-sabotage, completely defeats the mystery element. and 3: giving her so much presence and interaction with other characters in the first place. Boba Fetts don't come about because you made a cool character. Boba Fetts come around because you made a cool design, stuck it in the background, and fans grafted onto it after the fact. Like Sidon Ithano. I dunno the lifebricks hints all feel generic enough that it fits the "he doesn't know anything and is playing leaker by throwing generalities at the wall" to see what sticks. #1 could be literally any helmet, diorama, or midi-scale ship. #2 could be anything from a set based on popular new media with a wasted fig slot to a remake of a popular set that has a high price point and a desirable character. #3 sounds the most specific but this could legitimately be anything from young boba fett to the choice to put TROS palpatine in a book. Llewop Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 So earlier in the year I saw someone post about somethings to come in 2025, I didn’t think they were a known leaker as they were never taken seriously but some of the things they predicted was LOTR set in 2025 possibly a bagend, a return of the simpsons theme (think it was a Krusty burger) LEGO horizon but not sets and that we would get an Endor mbs. there were a few other things he leaked but they were things I can’t remember but knowing what we know now. Some of these rumours have been also rumoured by other more prominent leakers so Endor could could be coming. Honestly though I can’t remember there name it’s just a strange coincidence that so many of those things are coming to light when they said they were coming months and months ago Quote

The bigger problem for me is that she never got any screen time just being a badass, so despite looking cool, whenever she showed up she just ended up being defeated easily. I can partially forgive her general absence from TFA, as she was a later addition, but giving her less time in TLJ (and killing her off!) was a major missed opportunity! Also, I very firmly believe that she should have been who Finn fights on Takodana, instead of FN-2199 (“TR-8R”) - Phasma would have an obvious reason for being angry at Finn, the scene would have established her hand-to-hand combat skills, and her being shot with the bowcaster (only surviving because of her chromium armour) would explain why she just rolls over when Chewie has it pointed at her head. I think you've got this spot on. I actually rewatched TFA last night (and now it's cemented itself as imo the technically best Star Wars film and by second favourite behind ANH) but the Takodana sequence stood out to me as feeling sloppy, for a couple of reasons: How Maz got Luke's lightsaber is never explained I don't get how the Resistance even knew to turn up there to save the day There was literally no purpose to having one tiny shot of Poe in his cockpit, only to then abandon the starfighters for the rest of the scene The entire ground battle felt iffy. A big part of that is the random stormtrooper with the nunchuks or whatever. Phasma taking this spot would actually completely fix one of the biggest issues with the entire film I didn't realise Phasma was a late addition, but now I'm wondering exactly how late. Not only is she not in this scene where she has every reason to belong, but her role in the opening sequence is very minor and could easily have been achieved through reshoots after the fact for just a few inserts. (I suspect this is what happens; there's a thread of Kylo Ren honing in on Finn as a traitor, which is unlikely at best - why would he care about a random stormtrooper? - and redundant if you have Phasma doing that exact plotline) If they'd done your idea it would probably have been better for merchandising, too. Phasma looks unique but doesn't ever really do anything. The stormtrooper with the nunchuks does cool stuff, but looks identical to every other stormtrooper. Give the cool-looking trooper the cool scene and you have a toy that kids will love Quote
icm Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 1. Never explained. 2. There are brief asides of Resistance and First Order spies reporting Our Heroes to their respective sides. 3. We're shown an establishing shot of Poe in his cockpit, then if you watch closely you see his specific ship taking out at least four Tie fighters, prompting Finn to yell "that's one hell of a pilot!" 4. Yeah, Phasma fighting Finn in the castle ruins on Takodana would completely fix her character development. Quote

Kaijumeister Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 (edited) We definitely need smaller sets that aren’t battle packs or mechs / Microfighters. I still think this year’s Moff Gideon vs. Paz Vizsla set achieves the right balance between a solid build and a lineup of desirable minifigures whilst achieving a fairly low price by this theme’s standards. I’d love to see more of that, although discounting price-points Boarding the Tantive IV is by far the gold standard of what affordable Star Wars location builds can be. I guess it varies by taste but I’ve definitely grown tired of Jedi Starfighters being the go-to subject matter for smaller sets. I was expecting to enjoy Jedi Bob’s Starfighter given that it at least plays around with the standard Delta-7 design but in all honesty, it still felt underwhelming. TFA is definitely the most enjoyable ST film for me, although I do wish Finn’s duel with that trooper on Takodana would’ve been a bit longer? It was the first time we saw the blue lightsaber ignited on screen in 10 years. I do hope Lego revisits the Kylo Ren minifigure one day and designs a new helmet / hood mould for him, the helmet piece they used between 2015-19 looked incredibly goofy. Things have been fairly quiet lately, hopefully pictures of the winter 2025 sets and rumblings of the summer wave aren’t far off. The TRoS Palpatine figure looks great.
