There’s a total dearth of Lego freshwater water birds - even in a city setting you’d think they’d have gotten to at least one of swan, duck, heron, stork, kingfisher …

Marine birds don’t fare that better, with the penguin & gull doing a lot of heavy lifting, and wondering where the Lego puffins, boobies and pelicans are.

Just watched an interview with the designer behind the Ninjago Old Town set and he made clear that if he could have used the newer falcon mold he would have—the character he's with was decided late in the set design process and he couldn't arrange to put the newer falcon mold back into production in time to lock in the final design of the set. With that context I think it's a pretty fine compromise and hopefully if the falcon appears in a future Ninjago set they can use the proper mold.

I don't think that's particularly likely, there's rumors of a minifigure of Lloyd in that series but the falcon from Ninjago is more closely associated with Zane and his father.

disregarding Lloyd, the rest of Series 29 will be normal according to Brickrap on Reddit. So i would say it could be likely for a falcon to show- up in CMF or set.

The falcon was already introduced in a previous CMF though? I don’t think they’ve ‘double dipped’ with new animals since their chimpanzee back when the series were still in the single digits, so I’m not sure they’d do it again. Especially when there are so many new animals that people want.

I guess it's no more or less likely than any other possible outcome, I was talking about the specific possibility of a better falcon appearing in Ninjago at some point so I don't really know why the broad possibility of it appearing in a CMF series in the future is relevant.

Eh, I see your point. But I like to think it’s always a broad possibility  beyond Ninangjo (or CMF). For example, raven from DreamZzz might show up in either City or CMF.  I would assume a falcon showing up in CMF. On the other hand, @Accio Lego made a fair point hat a better falcon won’t show up in CMF since we already have a Falconer with wing-spreading falcon mold.

But anyways, we had white horses before and it will likely not show up on PAB too, so nothing to get excited about IMO ;).

Previous all-white horse, despite being in a Marvel set, *did* show up on PAB tho …

I know. And the one from Harry Potter did not. And given that Shadowfax is an actual named character in LotR, it seems unlikely to me they would add it to PAB. But we will see.

On another note, I have no idea how generic that Marvel horse was so hard to tell if that is the reason it showed up, or because it was only a plain horse (without barding) or whatever. But then again with other parts that showed up there didn´t seem to be a real system behind it anyways, since even ravenclaw torsos showed up there.

Well I’m guessing that ‘plain white horse with only printed eyes’ is pretty generic, and other horses have jumped between licenced and unlicensed sets so 🤷🏽‍♂️

Not sure I’d ever look at animals appearing in Harry Potter as the example - as that’s notoriously nonsensical. Somehow JKR has the rights to most species (but not all) of owls, specific cats, and Neapolitan Mastiffs, but not rats, pythons, or any mould that starts life as a ‘patronus’ .

I think it's because they are only in the HP sets, if they showed up in a City set etc there would be a grater chance they would make it to PAB. I think it has more to do with Lego and less to do with the licence holders, no reason the kitten from the modular building should not show up on PAB, but nowhere to be seen  Everything that is exclusive to a set, Lego will most likely use for a lever to make us buy the set instead of buying it of PAB

Yeah I can see a plain white hose can show up in any themes (both licensed and in-house) since it’s very genetic.  No need to “heat up” this discussion, Black Falcon.

Yeah, I think so too, and apparently either Lego has no strict rules about it or they just make a lot mistakes there (or very likely both). Sometimes makes just no sense like having the cape that is used by Palpantine in Star Wars but also used in Ninjago or for the Beastmaster CMF still locked from PAB, that piece is just so generic...

Lest we forget, there were two very similar white horses which only varied by some detail on ten bridle. I’m not sure now if only one of them was ever on PAB, as one definitely came in a bunch of smaller sets with The Lone Ranger sets, and was pretty readily available.

Reindeer, gorilla, rabbit, etc are nowhere in the inventory, at least for the US market.

Yes that is right, but I believe I have most of the second version since that showed up on PAB. They changed that only slightly from the original version that retired several years before (probably never on PAB, was that even a thing then?).
They managed to keep the print "alive" after that, and we even gotten a second version of the white horse now. There is no love for the black horse that was as common as the white back in the day, not even a black foal so far. 
Maybe LOTR will have one some day, but they are much more stingy with horses compared to the first run..

They might pop up for 10 minutes or similar before they are sold out again, but basically they should not return to PAB unless they show up in a new set in the future

‘Reindeer’ shows up in U.K. (as with many parts these days it seems to be duplicated, with one discontinued, one live)

… and if you’re quick you can also still get the adult gorilla’s LEFT arm. No body or right arms left, lol.

Minifig costumes with no animal mold counterpart: lizard, giraffe, llama...?
