The Nightmare Vignette by Sir Nadroj

Recommended Posts

Well hello there! :-)

I haven't posted any MOCs in a few days. X-O I know, shocking! Anyway, here's what I've been working on. This is a vig portraying what would happen if your nightmares came true! Snakes, Spiders, Bats and Rats! X-O And my least favorite: a clown! :'-( I hate those things! *n*

Anyway, bear with me for this one. I originally made the bed. Ok, fine. Then I added the 'nightmare' theme with lots of creepy crawlies. But to make the vig a whole lot creepier, I made the bed frame taller than originally planned and I made that huge, odd looking window. The window is supposed to be weird like that, I based it on the style of Tim Burton. So if you're not familiar with his work, you may want to look him up, or you may not get it, ;-) , but I'm sure the majority of you guys know of Tim! X-D

(excuse the pic quality. My camera must be made of megabloks!)

What a great scene! This is a perfect example of what a vignette is supposed to be like. *wub*

I have to say that the mime/man in the window is actually really scary, LEGO or not... :'-(

WOW, that is a good looking vignette! I'm seeing a lot of features that I really like, so where to start? I assume the black construction in the background is supposed to be the silhouette of a window with curtains? It's simple but very effective! I also like all the creepy animals and the masked figure peering in through the window.

But the best part by far is the bed, I really like the way you did the blanket! I do think you should make the blanket one stud shorter though, at the moment it looks to me like the blanket continues beneath the pillow and the minifig sits in a hole in the middle. And I don't know if it's just me, but the tile on top of the blanket seems to stick out quite a bit. Perhaps you could replace it with 1x1 slopes, or raise the adjacent rounded pieces one plate to give the appearance that the blanket has been pulled back a bit (although, that would make the blanket even shorter).

Overall I think this vig is of a very high standard and I really like the looks of it. Keep up the good work! *y*

Snakes? That's no nightmare! Snakes are cool! You'll have to think of something better to impress me! :-P

I like the vig- especially the window. *y*

Thanks for the kind words, guys! *sweet*

I'm working on the 'Good Dream' Vignette now! It should be done tomorrow. ;-)

The only thing that I think is scary is the mime/clown! :-(

A very cool work with a fine bed and a good window, the combination of colors is

smart too and works very well. Would also work good with a Christopher Lee MF

instead of the clown.... *y* :-P

Very good work *y* *y*

I've seen most of those creatures here and there during filed activity (even desert snakes in Iran), and I think the clown is the scarriest *skull*

Keep it up *y*

Very good *y*

The bed is great. The clown would also be a good Edward Scissorhands.
