Lonely wanderer searching for a new home platform

Recommended Posts

Hello dear fellows,

I am new! Or maybe not. Well, some people may know me already as a person focused on MINI building. I originally come from a different forum platform but the discontinuity and unsteadiness there made me homeless. It's now difficult to get into another community when you literally had thousands of posts and presented 150 models at a different place. Now I'm a newby again and have to start from scratch.

Well, anyway, here am I, and one thing I already like here is the presence of a generel SciFi themed forum where there's space for all universes besides the ones under license by TLC. :classic:

Here's some personal data for those interested. My name is Christopher, located in Germany and slowly approaching 30 years in age. I work at university, and build with my bricks at home in the basement. Other boards I visit besides the one I left are the 1000Steine community and LUGnet. I am mainly into miniatures and write articles for BrickJournal from time to time.

Maybe I'll give a short summary of what I have bee building and posting the last 7 years for those to whom I am new.

----------

My oldest project line is Star Wars miniatures which I started in the end of the year 2002. Today there are more than 150 models. Below is an example of the 150th model being the Nu-class attack shuttle which also has been released as a LEGO® playset.

All Star Wars models can be seen here on BrickShelf: Star Wars Miniatures

----------

Realizing Star Wars was not everything, I began to spread into other SciFi universes like Star Trek. As an example you can see the Constellation-class Cruiser, i.e. the Stargazer as first ship commaned by J.L. Picard.

All Star Trek models can be seen here on BrickShelf: Star Trek Miniatures

----------

With the release of the new reimagined Battlestar Galactica TV series, I remembered the old classic series and thought of the many nice ships I had seen there...

All Battlestar Galactica models can be seen here on BrickShelf: Battlestar Galactica Miniatures

----------

Added a bit later was the line for Stargate. Although more a ground-based series, the few space scenes revealed some pretty nice craft like the omnipresent Ha'tak-class motherships of the Goa'uld.

All Stargate models can be seen here on BrickShelf: Stargate Miniatures

----------

The latest addition is just two movies - the famous Space Odyssey series. Shows below is the rendering of the Leonov docked at the Discovery One.

----------

That was my quick summary of the past 7 years. Some themes also feature brick-built minifigures which you can easily locate when browsing the corresponding BrickShelf folder. You can alternatively see all models and figures on my webpage http://www.deckdesigns.de.

That's it! Thanks for stepping by and have a great week-end!

Welcome to Eurobricks!

You've got that right, I've always been a fan of your minis and am incredibly pleased to see that you have finally joined us! :classic:

I don't think you'll have any problem at all fitting into our community.

The full range is welcome here, the only limit is imagination itself.

Welcome to EB. I stumbled across your Brickshelf folder once when I was looking for Space Odyssey MOC's.

Share away man, and continue to develop new space craft.

When are you doing Firefly? :pirate:

Wow...

Nice minis.

You are more than welcome to repost all of those in the Star Wars Forum if you'd still like comments and feedback on them.

Welcome to Eurobricks, I hope you'll find a new home here :classic:

Hello and thank you very much for the warm welcome!

And also thank you for the praises. I can assure everyone that there are many more models ready to be photographed or planned. :classic: I am also aware of the Firefly series. The ship is great, and the shape is odd. A great challenge this will be. :sweet:

Apropos hometown, Erdbeereis, actually I was born in Karlsruhe too, and lived there vor 26 years. I finish my studies at University of Stuttgart currently. :classic:

For now I think I will have some fun in the MOC forums.

See you around!

Thank you again, both of you, for more nice welcome greetings!

No problem about the anti-micro-statement. No offense taken. I know many people have a strong dislike for them. I don't like many of the official minis either. Hence I try to do it better.

What many people don't know is that you need an extensive parts knowledge to get the perfect piece for a certain shape you want to build. Which is not always easy at very small scale. Small models also take lots of time to construct. Several days to weeks is not unusual. Heavy cases already took more than a month. :sweet:

See you around,

~ Christopher
