CITY: Extremely random photos from Lego City!

Recommended Posts

This city reminds me a lot of the Richard Scary books my kids used to have...

Is there an air balloon somewhere?

Excellent!

There certainly could be an air balloon in the future haha. The possibilities are endless. and Thank you!

Great buildings,

I like your LEGO store so far, especially your pick-a-brick bins.

And light-up LEGO sign.

the Inventor

Thank you the Inventor!

That is an amazing layout! Great job on the City scape.

I can't wait until I have the room to put something together like that. 95% of my Lego is sorted and stored.

Keep the updates coming dude!

Thank you legomaniac83! Lots of room always helps.

Wow, that's... pink. But a really nice building. The front of the Lego store looks promising. How did you do the PaB wall in the back? Technic bricks with 1 x 1 trans-round plates?

We had a bunch of leftover pink elements from the Pink Hotel and decided to make an ice cream shop with the pieces. I did more work on the storefront today and will post the pictures momentarily. You are correct..technic brick with trans 1x1 plates secured to the back.

I can't wait for the Lego store and McD's :classic:

Coming soon!! haha

I too can't wait to see the Lego store and Macca's finished, dont forget Ronald !

Keep going - I'm a conformist! 'ACCURATEin' ! :sweet:

haha i've been bricking a lot the past few weeks. I'm sure there is no end in sight!

EPic stuff all around!

I wish I had that many pink pieces... I think I have about three...

I'm also planning a LEGO store... can't wait to steal be inspired by ideas!

Thank you wooootles! I went crazy with pink elements on bricklink! It's fun being inspired by something, and also inspiring others!

Wow, as impressive as the whole layout is, the thing that stands out most for me is the foliage... it's a mark of great LEGO skill when your creations are almost indistingushiable from sculpted, painted models! I especially like the tree using the 1 x 1 cylingers with 3 leaves... genius!

Thank you Steel Dragon! Trees are fun because there are endless ways for them to work. Every tree is different.

Now on for more photos...

Furnished the bottom level of the family home...

The owners decided to install a kitchen window, and also hired some landscapers!...

These residents had an entire back porch added onto their creator home...

018ac.jpg

Half shot of the 'what can brown do for you truck'!...

There are some battery powered LEDs installed in the second floor of the family home...

Lots of rain translated into ample foliage...

And last, but not the least, progress with the LEGO LEGO store!!!!

Wow! I love the progress on your city.

The interior of the house is very detailed, and you put lots of foliage all over the city!

My favorite part has got to be your LEGO Store. You even got the signature giant 2 x 4 red brick!

I'll have to make an accurate LEGO Store of my own some day!

Thank you ILikePi!! Most of the foliage has been done by my girlfriend. She is pretty much an AFOL now as i have somehow gotten her to fall in love with the hobby.

haha the red brick is a perfect size. I made more progress on the MOC yesterday and now i'm figuring out a modern design for the McDonalds. I've been looking at pictures or McDonalds and to my surprise there is a WIDE range when it comes to the design and layout of each location.

And just last night my girlfriend brought a large box home and i looked up and said.."Deathstar"?! haha She told me it was an early Valentines and birthday gift, and that I could open it now if i wanted. I knew it had to be some sort of LEGO set because she looked anxious for the box to be opened. I looked at the UPS label and automatically it clicked in my head...."MONORAIL"!! And so it was!...the one set that I always would stare at in the LEGO catalog when i was 6 or 7. 6399 Airport Shuttle. I swapped the train track out with the monorail tracks and there was a perfect amount of straight track to run the length of the city. Pics to come soon!

This is probably one of the best cities "evah." I love how you made the Town Plan hall modular  IMO, you need more cars and maybe less trucks

The monorail looks great, the town hall expansion works really well and my favorite is the "chilis" restaurant. Man, that building looks beautiful! :sweet:

Thank you Sir! It's supported on plastic shelves that are intended for use in storage rooms or garages. Hopefully one day i'll have an entire room dedicated to nothing but LEGO. :classic:

Thank you Sir! It was fun modifying the town hall. We were short on dark green bricks but it worked out in the end. haha i guess there are more than enough trucks in the city...i'll work on some cars and other vehicles soon.

Thank you Sir! I feel honored to have a MOC blogged.

For more updates!.... a link to my flickr..

I think the best part of this city are all the tall trees. Definitely makes the city more real in a way and makes the city compact looking. One of the best city i've seen.

:oh: I am in love with this city now. I just love the skyscraper. The only improvement I can think of is to add a crane to the top of the building (if it is still under construction). I want to build a skyscraper just like that when I get my own place :classic:

This is really awesome, so much to look at. I went through every page and love the updates as it gets bigger and bigger. Lets see...the SWAT truck! The UPS truck, school bus, all excellent. The residential section is great I love the grey house. The pink Cali style house, the ice cream shop. Excellent use of the FB for a police station. The skyscraper is amazing! Thanks for sharing your progress!!

Thank you! I have a mediocre crane that i've pieced together but didn't affix it to the skyscraper. I'll have to do that and take a photo for you. :classic:

I love that sloped driveway! In most Lego cities, Modulars don't really fit in, but here, they are right at home :cry_happy:

Thank you! My girlfriend wasn't fond of the idea with the sloped driveway, but i told her to be patient and let me finish the house to pass judgement. It's fun trying to make the different sets work in conjunction with one another. :classic:

A few more updates before tonight's build session!...

Here is the ice cream truck so far. Will be ordering some lime green wheel arches to complete the look.

001mgh.jpg

003nc.jpg

The owner of the new house has a house warming party!..

005fy.jpg

The tenants of the 'Green Grocer' moved out as their lease came to an end. A flower shop now exists and renovations have begun. :classic:

007np.jpg

This yellow duplo drick is awaiting set 3221 to be released!...

And tonight, the back of the theatre will be completed. There is a hint inside the photo as to what will go in place!..
