"Em, you'll have to remind me, where'd you meet this Progg? Was he a threat then and has grown weak since then, or was he always just talk? Because he seems like just talk. He sure talks a lot."

"He is a great evil," says Barty popping into view, "but not a great force, apparently. Maybe we can discuss some of the missteps you've made here, Boomingham. For example, you forgave Alice rather quickly after she betrayed you, don't you think? Don't you see that her heart was swallowed by darkness then?"

"She seems alright now, doesn't she?"

Boomingham swings Scupperer at the Claw of Destruction from the back row as Barty floats around his head.

"Haven't we learned yet that second chances mean nothing?"

"I feel like this is all we talk about."

"He's always been more of a manipulator. His armies are his greatest strength," Mortimer spits. "He's nothing but a manipulator."

"Are your remarks meant to sting? Allow me to enligtehn you about something, little angel. I have killed one of your ilk. How did you not detect that, little angel? Has being tethered to a mortal made you weak? But, then again... Considering I devoured one of your kind, I suppose you're hardly immortal either.

So shall I tear off your wings, devour your soul, and sever you from your precious Ennoc forever, little angel? Or will you desert the prideful fool and leave him to die?"

"Aren't all those soldiers brainwashed slaves? That doesn't even take the thought power of manipulation."

"Lawrence may be an idiot, but he's not weak." Barty crosses his arms. "So we angels are mortal. All things are except the light and the darkness, of course. You are too, you know that, right?" Barty darts forward and then back. "You did kill an angel. But the darkness cannot swallow light. One angel may die, but you will be crushed."

"Brainwashed slaves indeed," Mortimer mutters bitterly. "All the more reason to bring this to a swift end."

"I remember what I once heard a long time ago, the Light and Darkness may battle eternally but one will never completely defeat the other, they require each other to exist. Or something like that, either way let's finish off the Regret." Erdathcath fires from back row with her Handcannon at the Tail.

"Although my preference is for the dark, little angel, the struggle between the two forces matters little to me. There is only a sickness I feel I must cure, and I don't really care how many humans I must kill to achieve my aim.

And a poor manipulator? Hardly. The ten thousand hunters outside never faced any magic - I pulled their strings through understanding of their nature. And in your party, I made young Alice a traitor, exposed Johon for the pitiful whelp I knew he always was, and managed to get the most obnoxiously lovestruck man to walk Olegaia to rape his own wife."

Masson begins to panic and fet even more.

Z5wDC5Z.png

"Shut up! Shut the hell up!"

yFidQf4.png

"You think you have any semblance of control over your own plight? Confess, Paragon. You enjoyed it when your wife was drugged. You want, you need a woman to be that helplessly, hopelessly attached to you to keep the noose of your neck, eh? Can you deny it?"

Masson stares on, his look vacant but his eyes looking tortured and guilty.

yFidQf4.png

"You can't deny it. You liked it that way. I truly do pity you, Karie - should you make it out of here in one piece, you'd have to raise and nurture the poor psychopath's child. Odd how you only attract maniacs, isn't it?"

"You are the most one note thing I've ever had the misfortune to met." Karie replies, trying to sway the conversation to her side. "I'd like to of seen what would've happened if you didn't mediate in any of your sick scenarios!"

QM Note: Haven't had much time to do much more than small updates, unfortunately - in the blank space I was just trying to prompt some roleplay. I'll run a round tomorrow morning!

Thanks for understanding, guys, this holiday season has been a lot on me so far.

In between scuffles The regret speaks with a surprising amount of sincerity.

"I do quite enjoy our bouts, heroes. I have loved turning each page of each chapter of our sagas - and writing my own, on occasion. Playing the villain has been an honor for you and your ilk.

But even a scrap of good will not redeem your kind..."

OoC: Em, can I go after Erdathcath? Also Masson or Boomingham attack the other claw in case I use this potion?

If not healed: Uses grand potion

If healed: Claw of despair, BR

Tail, BR

"You're insane..."

OOC: The claw of despair is stunned, which is why you're the only one attacking it. Even if you heal, you/we won't take damage from it unless I'm not properly remembering how stun works. Erdathcath is also sealed, meaning she has no chance to roll Roots of Life and heal you. But yeah, you should probably pot up this round; good call.

Karie tries to conceal the sheer volume of pain searing up her back, cringing. Her eyes muddy as she tries to grapple the Regret's tail.

"Don't... worry about me. I've got the tail occupied. Worry about... urk... something else!"

Karie digests a Herbal Infusion from the back.

Erdathcath feels an invisible force contracting around her, limiting her abilities, yet she still pulls together the strength to fire her handcannon at the Tail from the back row. "Die already won't you? I don't care what your opinion is on this whole venture, you just need to give up so we can move on with our lives!"
