evildead Posted July 20, 2009 Vig. 84a Ahoy mateys! This is the sunken ship I have built for the Pirates display in the 2º TomarLego. You can see it underwater here. Under the Sea... Brickshelf Flickr Hope you like it! ;)
SlyOwl Posted July 20, 2009 The jellyfish are great, as is the transition from pre-fab hull to timbers I also like the spattering of coral and various sea creatures integrated into the wreck. A few cross-timbers (between the arches) would have been nice to see (even something as trivial as a jumper plate on the inside), and the pre-fab hull could have done with a bit of development. Shipwrecks are some of my favourite MOCs, and this one ranks highly by me, particularly when underwater
Commodore Hornbricker Posted July 20, 2009 I love this too. It looked so good underwater. Shipwrecks are very cool indeed. The jelly fish are probably my favorite!
Mister Phes Posted July 21, 2009 The jellyfish are great, as is the transition from pre-fab hull to timbers Which sets do the jellyfish originate from? They seem to work well in submerged Pirate MOCs.
fenris Posted July 21, 2009 looks nice. not too many details but great atmosphere... and yes, the jellyfish - specially in the water - lok fantastic... great job!
Captain Zuloo Posted July 21, 2009 Which sets do the jellyfish originate from? They seem to work well in submerged Pirate MOCs. They are custom built Mister Phes, with this and this part. (In transparent blue of course). Nice MOC, well done.
Mister Phes Posted July 21, 2009 Well blow me down and call me Cat Gut Mary, you're indeed correct Captain Zuloo. I must say that technique is rather effective.
Admiral M Posted July 21, 2009 (edited) Really? Because I thought it was this part. Awesome MOC by the way! Edited July 21, 2009 by Admiral M
Mister Phes Posted July 21, 2009 Maybe Evil dead can clarify the matter - for tiz a bit hard to tell which piece with the images provided.
evildead Posted July 21, 2009 Admiral M was right. I used a "Minifig Cook's Hat" on top of a sea weed. A few cross-timbers (between the arches) would have been nice to see (even something as trivial as a jumper plate on the inside), and the pre-fab hull could have done with a bit of development. I think you're right! There's a big difference between the pre-fab hull and the rest of the moc. If I would built it now, I would do those changes... Thanks guys for the comments! Mister Phes Posted July 22, 2009 Admiral M was right. I used a "Minifig Cook's Hat" on top of a sea weed. Well Captain Zuloo usually isn't right ( at Captain Zuloo) So Tomar is a city in Portugal and it has its own LEGO event?
evildead Posted July 22, 2009 So Tomar is a city in Portugal and it has its own LEGO event? Yes! It´s a lovely town in the center of Portugal and it is where we do our main Lego event every year. Tomar
Captain Zuloo Posted July 22, 2009 Well Captain Zuloo usually isn't right ( at Captain Zuloo) Well now, that was just totally uncool. Hey, at least I got the seaweed part correct. I've never actually seen that midget chef hat in my life, only the Erdbeereis version.
Mister Phes Posted July 22, 2009 Yes! It´s a lovely town in the center of Portugal and it is where we do our main Lego event every year. Tomar The first thing I did was go to Wikipedia and lookup Tomar. It has some mighty fine historic sites I see, like the Castle of Tomar:
Admiral M Posted July 22, 2009 And that castle would look really nice MOC'ed! I may use it in my port!
evildead Posted July 25, 2009 And that castle would look really nice MOC'ed! I may use it in my port! Well go ahead! It is a nice castle with fantastic stories about it.
