[SoNE Freebuild XIII-I] Quite A Mercenary

Yet another freebuild right before an episode... gotta string those plot points together, right? Enjoy!

Previous entries – in case you're not up-to-date, I suggest reading them first (they're comic-style and quick to go through, don't worry):

Great story @Cody Startale! However I must say that Brynna does seem like a bit of jerk

So presumably she's going to go to his family's home and that's how it's going to tie in with the episode's requirements?

Neat build and witty story! The scene looks great; especially loving the doorway, very nicely done:thumbup: Your characters are also developing nicely. The banter between Startale and Brynna is always fun to read.

I'm learning quite a lot from your builds. I too often focus on wanting to build these great epic set pieces even beyond my capacity to photograph and it never works. You on the other hand take very small settings and do so much with them from lighting to characters. I was going to go big again for this but I think i'm going to keep it small scale because of your lead.

As for this great job as always. You have a consistent style that's always highly enjoyably to read and peruse!

Thank you, guys! Comments & criticism is what keeps me going ultimately. :classic:@Forresto It's a very different approach, I guess. I suppose most builders here think about the Lego build first and foremost, trying to make an impressive Lego creation and then present it as such. For me, the story and the presentation comes first; the Lego build is just  the means to my end, so rather than trying to create a stunning build in itself, I rather go for something you would build as a filmset: what you need to make your scene work, and not much beyond that.

I actually did learn that approach from the Star Wars movies :classic: I always thought they shot the Dagobah scenes in a real swamp location. But no, turns out it was just a great and convincing studio set, built in a man's height so that Frank Oz could stand under it and puppeteer Yoda. That impressed me so much to find out when I was younger that it taught me the principles of how convincing set builds can be.

Ironically, my upcoming episode entry will probably be my most detailled and complete build, yet  But I have reasons for changing my approach with this one. Can't wait to see your next turn, though.

Haha, do you expect me to spoil story bits? It's top secret, I'm sorry. Guess you'll have to wait and see

Great scene! It shows that not every Rebel was a good guy, which was even true in old lore too. The ship interior looks great!
