As beautiful as it is, not everyone has either the funds nor the display space for the UCS Star Destroyer. To that end, I offer a highly detailed yet modestly sized alternative that is a modification of an existing set, 75055. This is a model of Vader's Imperial-I class Star Destroyer Devastator as seen in Rogue One and A New Hope, but can also be reconfigured using easily swapable modular parts into an Imperial-II class Star Destroyer as seen in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. The original set has had the internal playset removed, a complete ventral hull added with main hangar, detailed engines, and two new command towers. The model has been slightly enlarged to 1/2700 scale and is 23.5" long. The command tower, main batteries, and dorsal axial cannons are modular to convert between versions. The Mk I also has removable waist mounted quad cannons and engine thrust vanes. Completing the model is a display stand and a microscale Tantive IV Corellian Corvette, that while slightly overscale still fits perfectly in the main hangar and can be attached there. I used photos of the original Devastator filming model from A New Hope and the larger Avenger filming model from The Empire Strikes Back as reference. UT-60D U-Wing E 'was love at first sight .. a design that has deliberately mixed the style and characteristics of the most iconic starfighters of the saga. X-wing, y-wing and SnowSpeeders seem to gather here in the sinuous lines and calibrated this ship. The brilliant idea to give him a soul of its own, making it not only a starfighter attack but also a transport landing troops. Ladies and gentlemen, here is the MOC LEGO SB00101 - UT-60D U-Wing Starfighter / Support craft. After nearly four months of hard work I can finally present my creation. I started working in October 2016 on the basis of the few pictures that then you could find online. The fundamental prerogative for me was to respect as much as possible the proportions and create a scaled moc UCS. At the same time I studied and perfected the structure to make it solid, handy and completely disassembled into blocks to be able to assemble and disassemble easily. The lower doors are sliding and can be opened using a technique that to my knowledge has not yet been used, or at least I have never seen used. Inside the cargo area they are arranged the "benches" for the troops and the guns attack. The cockpit has the double glass .. top and bottom. To the top glass I realized the extent of adhesives inspired by those of the set 10240. Wings, studied and modeled with a sinuous shape and tapered, can be opened and can be placed in a "attack". Because of their weight, to avoid distorting the structure of the engine body to achieve a suitable system to support them, I opted to create two small "props" that support them and securing them perfectly parallel to the supporting plane. I am particularly proud of the engine body, which was the first block to be studied and planned. I made several versions before reaching the final one that I find well sized and proportioned. The design phase has been completed a week before the film and before proceeding with the BL orders I wanted to wait for the release of the film for checking compliance of the details that I had been impossible to grasp from the few available images. About 80% of the pieces I had at home but it was still necessary to perform six orders to find everything you need. In mid-January came the last order and I was able to finally give "life" to my creature. I say .. it in hand and to admire it in its massive proportions has been worth the effort to achieve it occurred. Are you wondering how many pieces consists .. 3324 brick and 6 minifigure. Jyn Herso, Cassian Andor, K2-SO, Bodhi Rook, Chirrut Imwe and Baze Malbus. The fearless rebels fled the planet Jedha after the destruction of the city by the terrifying new weapon empire. The dimensions for folded wings are 90 cm long, 35 cm wide and 18 cm in height. With wings spread measuring 80 cm long, 135 cm wide and 18 cm in height What about ... already liked on paper this ship but the definitive consecration took place after seeing it on the big screen piloted by two pilots brave Cassian Andor and K2-SO. It was unthinkable not to achieve a UCS version of this icon. Hope you like it.. A special rigraziamento to my friend Corrado Rosson which gave me great advice to make the photo shoot. Album flickr

This is a first draft of sorts, I don't know much about large builds but I am certain that this can't hold its own weight. Making it more stable would mean cutting rooms out, so I figured I would post this first! Some stats: 1.2x1.2x2.88 ft 5400 pieces Exterior shot: Interior overview: On the first floor I put a small speeder garage: The left hand side of the first and second floors have an elevator; pulling on the red knobs opens the door to the elevator. The second story elevator leads to the observation deck: The observation deck slides out so that minifigures can be placed, here's what it looks like separated from the main build: The third floor has the data vault. On the left, you can see the winch system used to raise the elevator. The vault door can open and close thanks to door rails. Right behind K2SO there was some empty space, so I put a hidden minikit there: Behind The data vault door is the vault control room. It overlooks the bottom of the data tower. The data spire extends through the upper section of the citadel. I included a doorway for Krennic to come out of, as well as a catwalk. The data spire opens into the final confrontation area: Lastly, here's the top of the tower. There was a small room where I originally wanted to put the final confrontation in, but it ended up being too small, so I put another minikit there. What are your thoughts on this build? Comments and suggestions are appreciated! Link to the model: https://www.mecabricks.com/en/models/7l2Bnz8p20N

This is a small UT-60D U-wing I designed. It's 736 pieces, so I would say that it is close in size to the official U-wing set from a couple years ago. I wanted to make something that looked really clean and sleek. I tried to get it as accurate as I could as this small scale. The cockpit has room for a single pilot, and the seating bay has room for 4 people. There are 4 seats back there, but they can be taken out if need be. The way to access the interior is to simply pull off the long top portion of the model. The wings can go all the way into flight mode and back. The only thing is that there is no connection point for the wings to stay put when moving the model around. So when flying it or moving it around, one would have to have a hand next to the wing to stop it from going wherever gravity wants it to. I guess a tiny piece of tape would fix the issue, but for display purposes, I didn't consider it to be a big deal. Because I did kind of intend for this model to be a small display piece or a part of a large moc or diorama. u-wing by Rendili Bricks, on Flickr u-wing_4 by Rendili Bricks, on Flickr UntitledModel by Rendili Bricks, on Flickr UntitledModel2 by Rendili Bricks, on Flickr u-wing_2 by Rendili Bricks, on Flickr UntitledModel_2 by Rendili Bricks, on Flickr I also tried switching up the color a bit and using dark blue. I have recently modified set# 75155 (the U-wing) and am wondering if there is a way to make the wings look better. To me, they begine getting narrow too far out, and get too narrow towards the tip. I want to make it look something like Brickvault's U-wing, whule retaining the ability to lock in the open position. Any ideas?

Hi everyone, My Midi-Scale TIE collection expands again with a new TIE starfighter: the TIE Striker from Rogue One. Made of 730 pieces, this TIE Striker features a fully SNOT surface, a smooth cockpit section, and includes blaster cannons below the cockpit. Design-wise, this ship really felt like a natural continuation of my previous TIE Reaper MOC. Although being almost Minifig-scaled, (hence the Midi-scale) this ship obviously doesn't have any interior due to the techniques used and small space allowed for the internal structure. Due to the front-heavy nature of the design, a rather long (but very simple) stand had to be made in order for the ship to remain perfectly steady and horizontal. The overall build is pleasantly sturdy for a display model and can be moved around easily. Hope you guys like it! ► Instructions for the TIE Striker are available on Rebrickable or via email at flyinspace.mocs@gmail.com More pictures on my Flickr page.

Hey everyone, I'm glad to present you my latest Midi-Scale MOC, the TIE Reaper from Rogue One. The TIE Reaper drew my attention when I discovered Doug Chiang’s wonderful concept art of the ship. The typical empire-like, aggressive and angular look of it instantly reminded me of my favorite vehicles from the movie. The main features of this design are: fully SNOT build from top to bottom, accurate proportions, studio model / prop look, removable stand and working ramp. Getting all the very complex angles and shapes, while maximizing the SNOT look, led to a very intricate Midi-Scale build. My main goal wasn’t “swooshability”, but making a convincing, display-only build. Although not intended for play, it can be easily moved around with or without its stand, and safely held from below. ► Instructions for the TIE Reaper are available at Rebrickable or via email at flyinspace.mocs@gmail.com More pictures on my Flickr page.

Hi all! I’ve done a quick rebuild of the new U-Wing set 75399, removing the black 4x10 plate that runs through the centre and rearranging lots of smaller plates to make a new internal structure that’s still strong and swooshable. The U-Wing now has space for two sitting or one sitting and one standing minifigure in the troop bay, plus one sitting pilot (with helmet if you like) in the cockpit. I also move the cockpit forward slightly and made the front edge of the windscreen piece meet the nose area for a cleaner line. This mod is also an alt-build using only the parts from the set! It’s possible to modify the U-Wing without totally disassembling the original set first, but I would recommend taking the centre structure apart completely to get to all those small plates you’ll need during the rebuild. You’ll only need to repurpose two slopes from the engines, and two white 1x3 plates and two white 1x2 plates from the wings, otherwise the engines and wings can be left intact. Free instructions are on Rebrickable. Here's more photos of the modified set along with a couple of renders showing the slight change in shape and extra troop bay capacity.

Back when the original Lego midi-scale sets came out, I fell in love with the idea of having models the size where they were small enough to display, but large enough to have detail and be cool. So, I set out first with my all time favorite capital ship in Star Wars, the Venator Cruiser. I roughed out the main idea, and kept tinkering with it ever since. That was 6 or 7 years ago. I was a beginner, so needless to say that it took four years of tinkering, remodeling, overhauling, and learning that got it to where I was satisfied. My thoughts about midi-scale, or desk-scale as I call it, were to focus on capital ships, since it seemed cool to have the largest ships in star wars on my desk. I also had the benefit of there not being very many people that had done capital ships at this scale. As a result, I built my next favorite capital ship, the executor. If you see the other photos, it was a good attempt, but it wasn't the greatest. Luckily, I found @skayenhere on Eurobricks who showed how to make the dimensions correct, though his is much, much larger. One good overhaul and viola!, the current model. (compliments of @skayen) It was around this time that I discovered Bricklink, which expedited the process. A lot. I decided to give it a go with smaller craft, starting first with a ship I came to love, the Ghost from Star Wars: Rebels. This time, design to completion only took a month (working on it off and on). It was also on this one that I tried my hand at custom sticker work as you can see on the cockpit and front turret. Then, I saw Rogue One and had to have a U-Wing. That was a pain in the butt as I designed and bought the parts only to realize that the wings were way too heavy to be supported by only a clip. I redesigned them to be lighter, but I still had to give up the functionality of the wings folding outward. I’ve seen others be able to do it, but I didn’t have the techniques to figure it out without an entire overhaul (which I don’t have the motivation or patience to do). It looked good, and that was enough for me. I left the clip in to make it look like it could though :D. Then, I had to hit the Resurgent battle-cruiser that was introduced in The Force Awakens. There wasn’t much source material at the time (pre Last Jedi) and I'm glad it turned out as well as it did. All the while, I'm getting better and better at designing and building, so it went from four years to completion, to two, to finishing two in a year, to now three in a year. They aren’t the most complex builds you’ll ever see, but that’s part of the style of this collection. Now for the Falcon. I hadn't dared do something so iconic since it'd been moc-ized at every conceivable scale innumerable times. But, I studied and saw one niche scale where it hadn't been given justice in my eyes, and I went for it. Another driving factor is the Ultimate Collector's Series Millennium Falcon that had been released that same fall to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Episode 4. I wasn't going to pay $800 dollars for a set, as cool as it is, and I didn't have anywhere to put it even if I did. Time to crank out the desk-scale experience. Two months later and there it was, my greatest thus far. It weighs two pounds. I managed to finish it before 2017 ended, making it my 40th anniversary celebration piece. Be sure to hit my flickr to see a couple of timelapses of me building this sucker! The latest I’ve done was inspired by @Inthert when he modified his excellent U-Wing into the junker version that appears in Star Wars: Rebels. I thought, “why not? I can so the same thing!” and voila! I’ve since shortened the wings a bit from these pictures so they are more accurate. Here's some pictures of most of the fleet on a wall: Their public debut and my first Lego Con, Brickslopes June 2018: I hope you enjoy. - Jordan Fridal aka simplethinker Every model has one element, idea or technique that I borrowed from someone else. So thanks to Erik Varszegi, V1lain, Tim Goddard, @Inthert, @sparkart, Palleon, @DarthTwoShedsJackson, @skayen, @Brickdoctor, and the LEGO Group! I’ll leave it as a challenge to all of you to look through the photos and figure out which elements came from where.

Hi everybody! Together with my son we built our version of Vader's castle on Mustafar from R1. We tried to make it UCS style complete with a micro build, UCS style sticker and a booklet. The base (the lava field) is 96x96 studs; the total height is approx 125cm. It includes six minifigs: two imperial guards, Vaane - Vader's servant, Krennic, and two versions of Vader - one in armor, and one in the bacta tank. For the bacta tank version we used the torso from the collectible minifig gargoyle. We built it last autumn, but worked on it since; and now got around to take some decentish photos. Hope you'll like it. Here's the link to the flickr album https://www.flickr.com/photos/152265303@N06/albums/72157700068239294

Hello everyone, So I haven't been active for the last 6 months, mainly because I've been working on this. For my first Large Scale Diorama, I decided to build Scarif from Rogue One. My goal was to make it as movie accurate as possible while still adding in a little fun so I hope I succeed. This MOC is built on 4, 48x48 base plates (2x2) making it 3x3 feet. I started this project in January, unable to see the end, yet here I am. Most of the parts were bought off of Bricklink and Brickowl and cost about $900 in total. I don't have an exact piece count but there are 5600 trans-blue round studs and probably just over 12,000 parts in total. I have spent 6 months building this so I would love some feedback, comments and what to improve for my next big build. Thanks so much, MovieMocs If you're looking for more pictures, here's the Flickr Album: https://www.flickr.com/photos/152950154@N05/albums/72157699670821685

This is my MOC of a Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Chess Set based on the Battle of Scarif. The MOC was based on the Lego Pirates Chess Set 40158 and Lego Star Wars Battle on Scarif 75171. When I first saw the Lego Pirates set, the first thing that came to mind was modding it to be a Star Wars Chess Set, then I saw Rogue One and set about building it. It has sat on my desk in various states over the last year or so and I thought it was about time to finish it and share it with you all. To my knowledge this is the first Lego Chess Set based on Rogue One unless I missed something. Some of the changes I made were: Making the connection between minifigure and chess board two studs to centralise the position of the figure. Changing the colour of the water plates to be closer to the colour of the water on Scarif. After building 21042 recently I decided to give this set a black border and base to add stability. I feel that it also gave the build a nicer finish. Foliage and beach design and layout. The one thing I found difficult was deciding which minifigures should represent each piece, given the lack of Imperial female representation the Queen ended up being Orson Krennic whilst the King is Darth Vader. Please let me know if you have any comments of ideas for improving it. Anyway enough of my babble, here are the photos: And finally a friend suggested that I included a mini AT-ACT, so I modified Miro’s mini AT-AT from https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-8089/Miro/tiny-at-at/#comments Thanks for looking at my build.

Hi again everyone This time I present a model I have tinkered with a lot - Admiral Raddus' flagship from Rogue One the Profundity. This is another example IMO of a nice ship design from the Disney era being used only once then blown to bits! The build itself has a few transitions from 2 bricks wide at the front to 3 bricks and then back to 2 on the tail to attache the nose section and to get the sleak shape which tapers to the tail. I also tinkered an awful lot with the nose section to get the hangar in. I must have built this section 4 or 5 times but finally settled with using the door rail pieces to mimic the hole as this meant that the nose would not get too thick throwing out the whole shape and feel of the model like some of the other attempts I made. I also attached the engines using clip tiles so the tail would not get too thick. Now to finish building the ship named after the commander of this one.......... Anyway let me know what you think. Hello, i´m not sure if i this project will be finished soon or built with real bricks. I started with the container - because of the very limited orange part range! The final model should be somewhere around scale 1:15 (60Studs long, 27Studs wide, 15Studs high) with Interior and RC and 2 L-Motor for the tracks and 1M-Motor for the cannon. One container consists of 385Parts which makes 1155parts alone for 3 containers but one goal is to achieve a high detail level and sturdy connections.

Hello everyone! I've recently got back into LEGO as an adult after a 20 year hiatus. My last LEGO sets purchased were the initial 1999 wave of Star Wars sets and with the 20th Anniversary sets released last year I was pulled back in by nostalgia. Sets today are so much more complex and well thought out and the ideas and building techniques that the community come up with are really inspiring. I am an engineer by trade and work with 3D software frequently, I credit many of the skills I've developed over my life due to the foundation that LEGO provided during childhood. I really enjoy having to solve problems using the limited catalog of parts that LEGO currently provides, it really fosters creativity in an aging brain. I decided to jump headfirst into Mortesv's Nebulon-B MOC in February and I was hooked by the complex construction methods and thought I'd give it a try myself. Rogue One is my favorite Star Wars movie and when looking online, I hadn't seen too many Hammerhead Corvette MOC's at UCS "scale" and thought I would start there. Here is the 97% completed model, there a few pieces missing that I am still needing to source but its almost completely done. I tried to make it in the similar 1/250ish scale that the Nebulon-B is in, but it looks to be ever too slightly larger. Trying to find reference photos that show each angle were challenging and many photos show the ship with completely different features. I tried to match the movie model, but alas there are some creative liberties made. Without an exact 3D model, its hard to get every detail just right. The model is almost completely solid, save the front and rear which are shells. All of the engines and center section are modular and completely removable. The entire model is "swooshable" but at 9lbs its really heavy! I haven't worked with LDD or Stud.io, but I plan to make a digital version as well and possibly release instructions if there is enough interest. I welcome any and all feedback, that's how we improve and make things better! More photos on Imgur, I can only get one photo on here due to file size. https://imgur.com/gallery/iObPOEH

Hi again everyone This time I present one more model from Rogue One – the Eta-Class Supply Barge. This “super tanker” can be seen entering Scarif through the shield gate. It is the big brother/sister of the Zeta-Class Cargo shuttle: I also cannot recall seeing any other MOC’s of this monster. This was quite a simple build – it is mostly a flat-bed after all – but the pieces that inspired me was the new 1x2 wedges for the prongs at the front. The only other “tricky” part was making the 8 wings so that they were sloped but not too sloped. I eventually settled on door rail plates at the bottom of each wing to give an illusion of a slope. It is a bit bigger than I would normally like to build but with the front having to be 4 studs wide (difficult to make it 3) it dictated the overall length of the model. My photography is not very good but the orange containers contrasted against the dark-bluish gray is quite striking. Let me know what you think and there will be more MINI madness soon Jon

Edited Nov´21 Hello folks, Rogue One, a absolute stunning movie (in my opinion), gave us this great designed, whale-shaped Flagship. It is like a combination between classic McQuarrie concepts as well as modern military submarines. The instructions are now avaiable at Brickvault: https://www.brickvault.toys/products/mc-75-star-cruiser-confidence LEGO UCS MC75 Star Cruiser CONFIDENCE by Kommandant Keller, auf Flickr About this MOC: Dimensions - 89 cm x 20 cm x 46 cm The model contains 5728 pieces 700-pages Instructions The ship features a compact, but playable interior including maintenance hangar, command areas and detachable quarters A Nanoscale Tantive IV can also be fitted right into the hangar bay in front of the ship UCS MC75 Star Cruiser CONFIDENCE by Kommandant Keller, auf Flickr Shame on me I didn´t post an update earlier but some other priorities kept occupied me the last months on further progress. Not to mentioned I took quite long to finish the model digitally. I went through different versions, each iteration with better techniques and quite better shaping... it was always some kind of finding the right balance considering techniques and esthetics. Like for the digital model and instructions: The rear-shape changed another time because the used building methods just were to challenging for implementation. But irl quite easy to archive. LEGO UCS MC75 Star Cruiser CONFIDENCE by Kommandant Keller, auf Flickr In Lego-Universe it always felt like something is missing for the Rebel Alliance Fleets out there. Dozen of ISD, various shapes, types and sizes – but less big Rebel ships. I am very proud of the outcome, especially since there are not many UCS-like Mon Calamari ships out there. And let´s be honest - the color scheme was the most fun part of designing. Doing some happy little drops here, markings there. The ship differs to the well-known PROFUNDITY Star Cruiser but I couldn´t resist to paint it acccording to my wishes and put a name on it. CONFIDENCE! Hello again, Eurobricks! I decided for my second MOC I'd dive in the deep end, the easiest way to learn, right? So I thought that the hammerhead would be a good choice being such an iconic ship in the canon Star Wars universe now. I will be updating this topic when any noticable progress is made, which may be a while because this quite a large project for me. This is where I am so far...I've taken a break due to the rear section being the most difficult. Any comments and suggestions are welcome! Thank you!

I've become quite a fan of the new Shoretroopers from Rogue one and look forward to obtaining them in Lego form, there is 3 varieties of Shoretrooper; Soldier, Squad Leader and Captain, so far we've had Captain (http://brickset.com/sets/75154-1/TIE-Striker) and Soldier (http://brickset.com/sets/75171-1/Battle-on-Scarif) do you think we'll get a Squad Leader figure, possibly with dual-moulded arms and a skirt piece? what are your thoughts?
