  1. Soldiers need somewhere to live too, so a barracks complex has been started in Abigail Park, a reserve close to the centre of the settlement of Mooreton Bay. Constructed of rough convict hewn sandstone, similar to Fort Denison, canny observers will note firing slits in the ground floor of the utilitarian structure. A while ago Major Dirk Allcock was able to arrange for a shipment of the New Pattern muskets that are starting to equip Corlander line regiments back in the old world. The detachment of the Light Company of the 47th Regiment of Foot that he commands will be armed with the new musket as a New World trial. Here, they conduct a demonstration of the new musket. Some Royal Marines, including the newly promoted Captain Stewart , together with some visiting Naval Officers, have come to watch the demonstration, as the new pattern musket has yet to be approved for Marine or Naval use. A quick build mainly to show off the Brick Arms muskets I was able to obtain at Canberra Brick Expo earlier in the month. I'll license the barracks as a residence. Any resemblance in the uniforms on the targets to the uniforms to those of other nations is purely... well intentional... you've got to train how you expect to fight right?!? I'm sure someone will call me a warmonger in outrage but seriously, no malice intended to our bluecoat friends Oh and the cannon design is from Captain Braunsfeld's Eslandolean 8th Army MOC.
  2. Hello all! I haven't done any builds in a while, so one day when I was looking at some images of lego trading posts, I decided to make my own. I noticed I built stuff for my Bluecoats and Redcoats, but nothing for my Imperial Armada/Spanish. So, I decided to borrow the figures and flag from the Armada Flasghip and build a small trading post! Here we go. The frontal view of the trading post (excuse the slight slant of the pic). It features 5 minifigures, a rowboat with unloading cargo, a dock with an upper and lower part and a dock lamp. Spanish Captain talks to Merchant, other merchant starts to unload his cargo. A Armada soldier guards on top of the Trading Post. Imperial Armada Trading Post by James McGill, on Flickr Top view of the soldier, flag and cargo barrels on the top. Imperial Armada Trading Post 2 by James McGill, on Flickr Top pops off and reveals the interior which features a small table with a cup and two maps. It can fit a minifigure. Imperial Armada Trading Post interior by James McGill, on Flickr Lastly, the side view of the build. The Captain talks to the Merchant. There is a good look at the lamp and the cargo, and the side of the trading post. Imperial Armada Trading Post side by James McGill, on Flickr Thanks for reading!
  3. Hello guys, here you have my first moc: As it is my first moc,and I don't have a lot of bricks,I hope that it will be increased soon... Here another picture with a Carribean Clipper (wich I swaped for 20 pokemon cards ):
  4. Hello all! I've been building, rebuilding and adding to this build for quite a while. I built this fort because I recently got some of the new bluecoat sets, and I got the Bluecoat fort, and I thought it was a bit unfair for my Redcoats for not having a fort at all. So I made one. I would've posted this MOC sooner, but due to lack of water pieces, the MOC wasn't complete. Yesterday, I got enough water pieces to fill up the ocean part of the MOC. The Fort is not based off of anything really, I didn't use any pictures to build it, I sort of just built it. *Note* Although I'm posting it as complete, I'd really like some further suggestions, and the chances are I will add to the fort as I get more Bricks, maybe even expanding it or something. So if you have any suggestions/comments or even criticism, PLEASE share it. This is my first fort, and my 3rd Pirate MOC. Now, let's see the fort. Here is Fort Point Terran. Fort1 by BrickJamesWells, on Flickr Here is the front view of the fort. Do note, in some pictures the lighting may be a bit strange so please, forgive me. We have the front of the small fort, along with some rock the fort was built into. Off to the left, we see the Governor's rowboat arriving. Fort2 by BrickJamesWells, on Flickr A close-up of the rocks. A fort's officer, and one of my favourite redcoat awaits the Admiral. Fort3 by BrickJamesWells, on Flickr The back of the fort. The Fort's only cannons are at the back. I think it looks pretty good. Fort4 by BrickJamesWells, on Flickr "The Governor's arrival". Here's a good look at the water. A fair mix of clear, dark and light blue bricks. Fort5 by BrickJamesWells, on Flickr The left side of the fort. A parrot looks around, well sitting on the fort's wall. A bit more of the rocky wall, only a bit lighter. Fort6 by BrickJamesWells, on Flickr Okay, I don't see how the men can do this everyday. A super small space, with the fort's ammunition supply, cannons, soldiers, small "jail" and the Commander's table. Fort7 by BrickJamesWells, on Flickr Another view. Fort8 by BrickJamesWells, on Flickr Lastly, the overview of the fort. My personal favourite picture that depicts the fort, It shows the whole interior. Well, I've hope you've enjoyed. I will continue building forts, ships and vignettes for pirates. Please, tell me what you think, i'd love to know how to fix/update or expand the fort, or just see you opinion. Thanks for reading!
  5. Hi Everyone, I am pleased to share with you my latest MOC. When I had saw that a new pirate line was coming, I really wanted to try my hands at building a fort. I figured that it would be fun to do cliffs in another color than grey. I got inspired by the coast in Algarve to make the cliff in dark orange. I also decided to be very creative in naming my fort, and decided for naming it Fort Portugal. As I wanted to enjoy the build as much as possible, the fort is built on both sides. I have also added some play features. This fort took approximately 4 months to build. It is build on two XL baseplate and this is by far my largest build. Unfortunately, unless I move to a new house, I would not be able to build anything bigger. I hope you will like it. Better quality pictures are on my Flickr. Under the kitchen is a barrel, with a secret passage. The passage leads to a secret entrance in the cliffs but also to cave where the sirens are protecting an impressive treasure. The fort is also home to a prison where the most ferocious pirates are held. The pirate captains have the honor of a private cell. The gate of the cell can be opened. Here is an overview of the back. I have shown the play feature included. For the purpose of these pictures, I did not show this MOC in the dark (I could not get good quality picures). However, there are lights in each of the prison cells, in the towers, in the command area, in the kitchen and in the cave. Final picture of the MOC. I hope you enjoyed!
  6. 7. Hi, I'm planning to sale my Imperial Flagship. Because I move together with my girlfriend and she's not really into Lego, I want to sell it with a heavy heart. It's 100% complete, in very good condition. Box and instructions in excellent condition. It wasn't played with, just stood on my living room's shelf. I'm located in Germany, would ship worldwide. I'd prefer Bank Transfer, because of Paypal Fees. Pictures can be seen here: https://www.flickr.c...57652220182852/ Feel free to ask questions. If you are intersted in buying PM me. Cheers Sebastian

  10. UPDATE it's a WIP now More in last post _________________________________________________________________________________________ [pid][/pid] 150D Hi Here's my latest MOC. This is Redcoats Ship Neptune: And with the crew: She is a 2-gun-deck ship built with a slope-tumblehome technique: An eagle-eye view: As she was built as a playable toy for my kids, Neptune is very solid. It is the first MOC I started to build - but finished second - after Redskull sloop. I also thought that Neptune will be my opus magnum, but that's not true - I am already working on another ship (for bluecoats) which will be better for sure. Here's another look on Neptune's brave crew: The poop deck: Let's look into captain's cabin: Redcoating ain't easy... Cabin is also accesible from the stern: Like this: Stern: Here you can see hammocks: Gundeck is also accesible: Capstan works for both anchors and crane. Sorry for a bit fuzzy pictures. Neptune was built to chase and fight pirate ships: QAR, BP and aforementioned Redskull. That's why she has untypical rigging with four masts (with machine sewn PvC fabric sails). Here's my BS folder (when public) C&C welcomed Ahoy!
  11. This is my second moc in the pirate forum to date With Figs Without FIgs I wanted to try out this water technique, but I ran out of light trans blue, but I think I managed to pull it off All C&C welcome 'Till next time!
  12. [pid][/pid] 158D This being my first post, coming out of a Dark Age, I present His Majesty's Warship, The Whisper. She is a 16 gun, 2 mast, fast frigate. Her crew totals 15 sailors, 5 marines, and 2 officers. She is a 3 deck ship, with fully accessible Gun deck, Gallery, Captain's Cabin, and working capstan. more photos here: Thanks very much everyone, criticism is most definitely welcome! Regards, LordBrickleton
  13. [pid][/pid] 250A Report 1236634.5 Dear historians,I am writing to you in this old dead language because I am in Port Royal, right before the battle witch influance the history of the world in the next centuries will start. It is not easy to write in this language, but I think it suits well to that time and area.At first I want to show you Port Royal before the battle. Here you can the the port itself, it is build to be a save bay for all merchants and the imperial fleet. It would be very difficult to attack the harbor directly. You see the imperial tradingpost 6265 Sabre Island, 6266 Canon Cove, 6244 Armada Sentry Imperial Trading Post 6277, Imperial Outpost 6263, 6276 Eldorado Fortress and hidden the 6259 Broadsides Brig 6242 Soldiers-Fort, 6267 Lagoon Lock-Up A few days before today, the bluscodes conquered the 6271 Imperial Flagship. 6274 Cari. Clipper is also damaged in harbor. This is a part of the city, with 4183 the Mill and 4193 Escape from London and 6259 Broadsides Brig This is the market, and on the other side of the street are a few houses. Look, a bad pirate is kidnapping the girl on the balcony Look, we are lucky to see the famous Capt. Roger Redbeard while buying a map. Thats the backside of the Towngate of Port Royal Ohhh, the battle just began!!! Governor Broadeside has his headquater for the battle on the top of the towngate. The Admiral of the Redcoats are in the back of his armee near to 1872 Imperial Guard Camp and 6247 Bounty Boat Thats a overview of the beginning battle. bluecoats are organized in several regiments, the Red.... the white, the yellow and the guards of the Governor (under the flag of the crossing sabre) The Reds have 4 regiments, too. Here the Yellow. The red regiment. We see here the first exciting action of the battle. The Redcoats broken the lines of the yellow regiment of the bluecoats at the westside of the battleground. The blue regiment of the redcoats have done a great job and they have a target. They try to enter the strategicly important 1795 Imperial Cananon, but look the Guards of the Governor is entering the westside of the battlegroung to defeat the Imperial Cannon and rescue the yellow regiment. The allied of the Redcotas, the Armada, is attacking at the weakpoint of the bluecoats as well. In the meanwhile the Cannonball and the 10210 Imperial Flagship is fighting near to the cost. Armada Flagship is also fireing, but it is in troubble itself.... because it is under fire of 6245 Harbor Sentry How will tghe battle end? The person who find the writer of the report can decide :) In action: 16 Civialian 5 Pirates 2 Islander 1 "hidden reporter" Blecoats: 13 Bluecoat marines 1 Harbor sentry officer 1 Broadside 5 Officers 136 Soldiers 20 New Blucoat Soldiers 1 New Bluecoat Officer Redcoats: 1 Governor 1 Admiral 4 2009er Officers 3 old Officers 58 2009er Soldiers 68 old Soldiers Armada:1 Conquistador 2 Admirals 2 Officers 13 Soldiers
  14. [pid][/pid] 253A Ahoy, I've been working on a harbour for quite some time. Now I can start to show the pictures: After the modification of Olivander's Gringott's Bank also got transformed (just a bit) to fit into the scene (same story by the way as with Olivander's: Nobody in our family has ever played with Gringott's). On the very right of the scene you will find MOCs I have presented before: .. and we also tried a parade of the Blackcoats: (which are meant to be Prussian). So, please give a drum roll for the harbour scene... ... and share your feedback with me! (@Sebeus I: This is the harbour scene I was hinting at.)
  15. Knowing that amongst you all, there must be those possessed of in depth understanding with regards to uniforms, equipment and organizations of the British army from the turn of the 19th century, I have several questions or concerns about my own custom figure designs which I'm hoping someone will volunteer to clear up. I've tried, at length, by my usual methods of research and haven't come up with anything half so specific as I'd need. There seems to be plenty of information about a decade or more too late for my purposes, but I'm trying to create a certain environment as it bares upon the story I'm trying to tell through my MOCs, collectively. I've always tried to be helpful, forthcoming and polite in offering help, where my personal level of expertise will allow. Now I'm hoping it will be repaid in kind, with out biting me in the hind quarters. Please understand going into this, that if your only advice is to search the web, I've exhausted it to no avail. I've been at this again and again for years and never came to anything like the font of knowledge I'd require. Also advice to track down and purchase, at great cost, books no longer in print, is waisted. That being said, I'll pose the scenario and questions below. Of you've no interest might as well disregard at this point it gets pretty thick from here. The time frame for my tale is the turn of the 18th to the 19th century. The setting is a fictional island in an as of yet undetermined location. I have been between the Indian and the Mediterranean, but now with out considering the Caribbean and North America before. This would be a less than wealthy island town of some strategic value as a way point or port of call for merchants. Several times the island has changed hands from the Spanish to the Dutch to the English, who control it at the time of this narrative. Local pirates plague the area preying on the merchant traffic. The long harbor is defended by three batteries, two forts to either side of the bay, above the city and a smaller post nearer the channel. For a while I had the one fort under control of the navy with blue uniformed officers in command (they were all I had at the time) . The other fort was populated with generic Lego redcoats. Hypothetically at these forts, who would likely be working the guns? Red coats, royal artillery or perhaps some branch I've not considered? Would militia or the like factor in at all? Is it possible to provide some reference images, or links there to, by which I can design my custom figures? Further questions: I've noticed, with no determinable consistency, different British shoulders wearing different colors on the folds of their coats. Some have white, while others are green, blue or even yellow. One source suggested to me that it was a regimental thing, but I've found no codex for the system. Do certain colors denote a particular speciality or branch? In most depictions, for instance, cavalry seem to ware green or black. What then, would best apply to my ship board marines and what ever solders belong in my forts? Will the setting be a major determining factor in what sort of solders or regiments I use or make up? Would the cultural background eg. English, Irish, Welsh, Scottish of the solders/officers matter much to any of this? I could go on, but I think I've asked enough for now but know I don't ask lightly. From my own experience I can understand, that if you do know this much about the subject, it didn't come to you easily or cheaply. With that in mind I assure you all, that anyone who could assist me with useful, accurate information would be doing me a personal favor.
  16. 163C UPDATE #1 http://www.eurobrick...5 UPDATE #2 http://www.eurobrick...5 This past year at the University, I ended up running across the Master and Commander series. After reading through them, it rekindled my love for the golden age of sail which in turn rekindled my desire to build a proper sailing ship out of Lego. My overall goal is to create as realistic a brig as possible (although I might take some creative liberties if I really want to). This is just my first draft of the project so some things are probably going to change before I am finished with her. Some bricks (lime green and orange) are simply place holders until I can get the right brick in the right color. Please ignore the poor photography. I didn't want to spend a whole lot of time worrying about the lighting. It is a WIP, after all. In case it's not clear, the quarterdeck only extends to the rearmost guns. Although it does seem a little wide, it's proportions are fairly consistent with some brigs, mainly USS Niagara. Here are the guns I plan on using. 18-pounder (left) and 12-pounder (right). More pictures available here. https://www.flickr.c...157644875567878. Could someone tell me or (better yet) show me a picture of how the bowsprit connects to the ship? Does it go through the deck like on a post ship or does it simply connect to the main deck? Comments and criticism welcome.
  17. [pid][/pid] 251C Ahoy, I was interested in building a harbour scene using a good old raised baseplate. Unfortunately you cannot see a lot of the harbour but for some bits of water in the middle, but I am quite happy with the way the buildings have turned out: The whole set is modular (which I have forgotten to prove by taking the appropriate pictures ). At the back side I have allowed for a cross-section approach to the buildings to allow for access and playability: Ok - Sebeus I : this was not the harbour scene I am working on. And the next post should be a ship again.
  18. [pid][/pid] So here is my Comic. A bit late, but better late then never. I had not much time because I was staing in Hamburg for New Year and was back home 03.01. I hope you enjoy it even it is not perfect. A Bloody Help .

  21. I thought I should start a little story to spice of the Pirate forum, so here you go! C&C are appreciated. Chapter 1: The Change of Command The year was 1750 and there had been talks of a rebellion stirring up at the British colony of Port Imperial. Commodore Brickington was sent with a regiment of soldiers to the colony to stop this. When he arrived he went straight to the Governor's fortress. There, he ordered the change of command of the colony from the Governor to the military. Commodore Brickington: "I have been sent here to take command of the Royal Colony of Port Imperial. I hereby take take control." Governor Berkeley: "For what reason?" Commodore Brickington: "Talks of Rebellion. But it doesn't matter, I have a letter from the His Majesty. Either you agree or I throw you in your own prisons." Governor Berkeley: "Fine." Governor Berkeley: "But let me make some things clear." Commodore Brickington: "Go right ahead." Governor Berkeley: "The problem is pirates. Espiecally one named Joe Gardner, I have been recently suspecting him of planning a pirate revolt of Port Imperial. This colony is filled with them, I deem it wise to eliminate them." With that, one of Commodore Brickington soldiers came in the room. Soldier: "Sir, we have a problem." To Be Continued...
