Job: Special Forces Planet: Torresta Private Gnarl Graves hadn't been on Torresta in quite some time. He was never a fan of the beaurocracy that came in hand with being at home base, so he simply had avoided it for the most part. Today, however, Pvt. Graves found himself doing the one thing that could possibly make a base stay worth while. Combat Drone Training. Graves didn't exactly read through the 12 e-page dossier explaining the elaborate battery of technical ops he would be running the drones through, so when he found himself frantically leaping across the lowered platform to avoid a giant metal fist, he had decided just to make the best of it. Usually he was paired up with smaller drones destined for sentry duty or something trivial, so Graves had no problem destroying them and sending an aggressively worded complaint note back to the production yards. Today, however, Graves seemed to have faced a different threat all together. The Drone stood easilly twice as tall as Graves, even in his lifts, and very well could have flattened him against the ground if it had landed a direct hit. After several agonizing minutes of avoiding human-annihilation quality assaults, Graves clambered up the railing at the end of the pit and reached for his e-clip board. He looked back at his opponent, and squinted through his sweat to read its tagging info. "Well." Graves began, cracking his knuckles. "Looks like this... Harambot, is getting a commendation." Gnarl smiled as he scribbled a shockingly non-profane message out. He was proud to pass this drone: its massive hulking body, bestial prowess in battle, hell, even its name called back to one of his favorite old Earth heroes. Everything seemed to be wrapping up quite nicely when suddenly... An ungodly screech split up through the air towards Graves from the pit. The private shuffeled over to the edge of the scaffold and looked down. Harambot looked vacantly back upwards, but behind him, something had fallen. Someone. A small child, couldn't have been older than three or four, had somehow gotten in to the training pit. Gnarl shook his head with disbelief and sighed. Kids these days. "Oh well." Graves thought aloud as he casually about-faced from the ledge. "Guess nature's gotta do it's thing." ...an epic (but brief) wrestling match ensued. (He's just... petting the baby. Yeah. Good vulnerable human child. Good.) For compliance Also, here's a picture of my robot crushing dannylongleg's robot.

>MANTIS HQ, Aviation Control Department >0700 Hours "So the Mandalakian golfer says to the camel".... "Hi Guys! I'm Alex, the new intern! I'm really excited to work here! I love flying spaceships! How can I help out? Can I do anything?" *Sigh* (Quietly, to self) "Who asked for this new guy?" "Yeah, if you want to be of any help, get us some more coffee." "OK! Great! I love getting people coffee! Did I tell you that I just love working with spaceships?" *Sluuuuuurp....BOOM!* "Gah!" To be continued...

Location E02 Jurin II This is a rebuild of my first AG build "I Am So Lost..." Something feels different, I can't put my finger on it but it seems I am working for a corp named Mantis. Anyways, I am trying to source materials for this interesting company here on Jurin II. I sure hope I don't mess this up. I'll be using this ground seeking radar to find whatever it is a guy looks for. Maybe it is for finding dead reshirts. Nah....that wouldn't make any sense for me to be associated with redshirts.

[Challenge 3][Cat B][M - F02] Where There's Lava There's Water
MKJoshA posted a topic in AG1 Archive
This is a re-build of my first AG build. Location: F02 - Lesser Drigo "Hurry up Ender!" shouted Valentine, his sister, "We need to finish transporting these crystals back to M.A.N.T.I.S. headquarters or else we're going to miss Larva Friday!" Ender and his sister had discovered rare strain of water crystals hidden in the most unlikely spot, under a lava flow channel. They were rushing to get them back to HQ, not just so they could get their grubs, but because a former Kawashita spy had defected and had offered M.A.N.T.I.S. valuable intel if they could provide him with certain materials. One of those items were these crystals. This defector, a Mr. Graver, could be quite valuable if M.A.N.T.I.S. ever needed to react against Kawashita. OoC: Hope you enjoyed! Here's another picture: -

Sector: E01 Tags: Military, Building, Vehicle, Spaceship, Land Vehicle Begin Log: I've got him cornered! This could be it for Octan! All he has is one trooper. I can easily take them both. Master Data, this is Lord Mantis! Pause the simulation. We need you down here now! There's been a leak in one of the fuel cells. If it reaches the central power battery, this entire building will explode, crippling our operations in this sector. IR-wIN is taking care of it right now. IR-wIN: Already dispatched alien mechanic and rescue pod. How did that saw blade get stuck there in the first place? Don't ask! We need you to take out the new fighter to pick up some more power battery cells. The energy used to fix the fuel cell will probably deplete our last reserves. Alright, Howie, prime the fighter! End Log Well, I'm back (for now)! I wanted to come back with a bang, so I went to the extreme: 48x48. I also introduced IR-wIN and Lord Mantis. My studio couldn't hold the model, so my overhead shots aren't the best, but I hope you enjoy it!

"The house has been quiet for a while. There used to be frequent stops by Pangolinus between missions, but now he has been missing for months. He built me in his spare time in order to keep this place clean while he was gone, but since Octan is rumored to have him held prisoner, there is nothing to clean. I even went so far as to clean the room where he keeps his organ. I was never allowed to enter that room, but the one time I passed outside of the windows while he was home I did see something which startled me. He was weeping as he played. The music would fill the house for hours when he was home, perhaps a reminder of something from another galaxy. Now, there is nothing." My cat A entry! Unfortunately I had only time to grab a screenshot and not to render anything. The lava+rockwork is by Jeff and is only there for backdrop purposes. http://mecabricks.co...els/4qxv4dPgvdJ 3D view will be added tomorrow, and a render hopefully sometime soon. C&C welcome! With three of the four significant asteroid fields in Andromeda all near each other around the Octan / Kawashita border, it is to be expected that when M.A.N.T.I.S. based itself on Torresta, it found itself in the part of the Galaxy furthest away from most of Galaxy's G.A.R.C. racing culture... The teams, the drivers, the fans; with the Hamilton Belt, Fascini Cluster and Sinden's Run all near each other, racing was rife and popular... it was just popular somewhere else for M.A.N.T.I.S. There had been G.A.R.C. races over on 'this side' of the Galaxy but the dense and unpredictable nature of Barker's Folly had defeated them... Too many lost machines... Too many lost pilots. But, of course... That didn't put everyone off and while the rest of the galaxy played it safe on what had become the 'regular circuit', spending half of their time dealing with the logistical difficulties of trying to practice and race in sectors that live constantly on the verge of changing corporate hands, deep within M.A.N.T.I.S territory in the heart of Barker's Folly, when the patrols are lightest... They gather. News of a G.A.R.C. event in the Olympics had spread quickly and suddenly, M.A.N.T.I.S. engineers found themselves trying to engineer racing machines instead of spy-ships... The racers of Barker's Folly were not going to miss this opportunity; no testing ground was more difficult to hone your skills in and prove your worth... Now was their chance to show the Galaxy. They arrived at Torresta en-mass; a show of force. M.A.N.T.I.S. would respect that. With the resources of M.A.N.T.I.S. combined with the skills and knowledge of the racers of Barker's Folly... We would be ready. Race number: 0 Machine: Zero Tolerance Team: M.A.N.T.I.S. Origin: Barker's Folly Pilots: Imogen Goodheart / Heidi Von Schnelle Additional images: Front quarter. Plan: Underside: Rear: Scrutineering: Vertical core: Horizontal core: Parts (ish) Note: Since taking this photo I've made the front grille all one section by using 1x1, 1x3, 1x1 black plate to back it. It has to be removed separately but is much stronger. Thanks.

Henry Moose Personal Log: Today I got my first flight in one of the newest MANTIS toys; the Hornet Class Gunship. If I'm honest my first impressions were that it looks to be more gun than ship.... The two giant particle cannons aren't exactly subtle, I doubt that if I come across any Octan or Kawashita vessels I could convince them my intentions were peaceful. Though maybe when your staring down both barrels you can be convinced of anything... The cockpit is hardly spacious, and the field of view isn't great, but at least the radiators on the particle cannon shield my eyes from the glare when firing. And despite the lack of subtlety she looks very sleek. The technicians assure me that whilst the drive looks like a re-purposed trash can, it is in fact a precision engineered pulse-fusion thrust chamber... and it just so happens that the most efficient geometry is identical to that of a universal standard waste disposal cylinder. She flies reasonably well, though is far better suited to space than atmo... And I'm all for efficiency and smart design, but really, using the nose landing gear as the targeting array....? Still, this is much cooler than the survey ships I would have been flying for Octan and it's only two days until my first larvae Friday. I can't help but be a little worried about what they are expecting me to have to go out and fight with this thing though.... EDIT: resized pics and added an extra shot.

Location: Drone control room, MSS Titan outbound from Sorn Tags: Challenge 2 Cat C Entry Accompanying story follows: Tannoy: "...all hands to combat stations, we are outbound to gravitational anomaly B06. Drone pilots set up a standard 1000km BARCAP until we reach the jump point." ..fffssshhht... (other sci-fi door sounds are available) Moose: "Great another day patrolling the big black from the inside of my own head..." Alvin: "Moose, quit your bitching and plug in. Smiler's already got his flight of interceptors on point, my fighters will be on parralle stations shortly and since your last here you can take the rearguard." Moose: "Fine, fine, I'll cover your megablocks as usual." Moose: "You ready for another look inside my head?" Computer: "Uplink initialising" Moose: "You always say the most romantic things..." Computer: "Uplink ready, enter command seat and prepare for neural interface" Moose: "Would it maybe kill you to say please...?" Moose: "and now the painful bit" Computer: "Establishing neural interface in 3...2...1..." Moose: "unggghhh..." 6 hours of mind-bending direct neurological control over a wing of 4 viper class fighter drones later.... Tannoy: "...condition green, all flights back on board. All hands stand down from combat stations and prepare for GATE jump" Moose: "I don't know about you guys, but after that I need a beer and a half pound larvae burrito!" Alvin: "Count me in" Smiler: "Grggh!"

- Agent G here, Sorn proves to be a relatively un-hostile planet, with the few animal encounters being small reptiles. The real face of Sorn lies beneath, in its icy depths. Fish frolic peacefully here, flitting in and out of the abundant sea-bushes, while white crab like creatures scuttle around in the sifting sands of the ocean beds. My high-tech equipment seems so out of place, cold and lifeless, unlike the bursting ecosystem of Sorn that survives so well without the nutritoxin and Smogg That gets pumped into the air and the water on the more "civilized planets". While we think only of how we may further our reach in the endless reaches of space, we never stop once to think of the life that lies beneath us, choking on our progress... - Comments and Criticism most accepted!

Location: D04 - Terrial Minor Tags: Spaceship Onboard the MSS Titan in High Orbit over Terrial Minor ....whhrrrrrrrrrrrr.... Moose: "Hey! move it trash bot!" JanDroidTM 200: "bebleboopbeep!" Moose: "Don't look at me like that, it's been a long day.... Could you let me past please?" Moose: "Home at last!" .....fsssshht..... Alvin: "zzzzzzzz.....Dr. Long.....zzzzzz.....for me?.....zzzzz..." Moose: "Hey Alvin! Rise and shine buddy." Alvin: "Gahh, but I was having the most wonderful dream..." Moose: "The Octan one again?" Alvin: "Yeah, but this time she was 100ft tall" Moose: "Dude, you need help.....Anyway it's my quittin' time so it's your startin' time!" Alvin: "Yeah yeah, anything out there?" Moose: "Nope, all quiet so far" Alvin: "I hope it stays that way. Catch you in 8 hours." Moose: "See you later." Moose: "Begin Personal log." Computer: "Recording..." Moose: "Day 7 at Readiness Bravo, at least I think its day 7. I can never quite get my head round the relativistic effect involved in GATE travel and we had to take the long way from Sorn to avoid worrying Kawashita at Marphacia and Aeristus. 7 Jumps in total, with a combat patrol at each whilst the GATE drive recharged. Although Terrial Minor is nominally claimed by Kawashita they don't seem to be showing any interest in the Titan. Perhaps they realise why the Titan is really here; to prepare for whatever is coming from the core. Command don't want to leave the first line of defence to another corporation, not when all the worlds rimward of here are ours. The 8 hour Ready Bravo shift cycle keeps at least on flight of drones on patrol at any time and also really messes with my natural sleep cycle. The upside though, is that I actually get some time to myself. Ok its not like the Titan is bulging with things to do but the pilot quarters are vastly superior to my previous postings; we have an actual window....." Moose: "...and our own en-suite OmniCleenTM...." Moose: "....My favourite part however, is the adjustable grav plating. There's something extremely relaxing about turning down the lights and gravity and just floating by the window looking down at the planet. Beautiful isolation...." Moose: "....maybe this neural drone flying is getting to me." .....fsssshht..... Moose: "Ooompph!" Alvin: "Hey Moose, forgot my mess deck credits.....why are you on the floor?" Moose: "End Recording" Computer: "Record End"

Location: D04 Tags: Civil, Vehicle, Land Vehicle, Spaceship Begin Log: It seems like the desert never ends here on Terrial Minor. I've been rumbling along in my M.A.N.T.I.S. Mech Armor Unit for hours with no trace of any Biomass. The power source Dan created seems to be holding up. Vvvvvvmmmmmm............. What was that? Activating Battle Arms! It seems to be some sort of UFO, piloted by a space slug! It seems to be attracted to the slug shaped lower armor on my suit. No signs of any hostility. I'll have Big Sal analyze its methods of communication so we can come to some sort of agreement. It hasn't attacked me yet, so I'll take that as a sign of peace! End Log

Log of Agent G - Dave Daring and were sent to Guinevere to help with the "treaty" between Mantis and Kawashita. After "negotiations" between the two companies, we're now proceeding to head back to Torresta for a well-earned rest.- "Er, do you hear something G? "Yeah... Sounds like Yallorn nomlas fish blowing bubbles... But we aren't on Yallorn, so what is it?" "Call this a wild guess, but it seems to be the lava wyrm coming up out of the conveniently close lava, but, you know, I could be wrong" "AHHHHHH! Shit! Computer! Tell me these things earlier! Computer: Hiya sir! It seems to be that you've encountered a Guineverian Lava Wyrm. Nasty little situation you got there, seeing how it's against galactic regulations to kill it, endangered species and what-not. "G! Could really use some help over here! Stop blabbing and help me kill it! This things hide is tough! "Gah! What hit me?! I think it took it took at my cam!" Computer: Seems to be another one, sir! "Fine, you want to play, let's play..." "You've got to admit, these thing put up a good fight." "It also didn't make it any easier that you barely helped..." "Barely helped! It knocked out my cam, I could barely see! ... We should be heading back though, however endangered these things might be, there's still sure to be more... C&C very welcome.
