  1. "Grump, how isolated can a factory be? Such a long journey... I hope I finally get that promotion so I can sit on my lazy "behind", enjoying my cup of tea every morning instead of travelling allover the world inspecting factories..." With these words, Inspector Ed Spill entered the lighthouse factory. This time he had to check if the world famous Pine Sol they made here, is made in all safety, with respect for environmental blabla and the wellbeing of the workers. How long would it take before the owner of this factory kicks his megablocks and throws him out. The record is 15 seconds... That was at a time he visited a factory in Stedor. Too bad for Ed Spill, it was Lord Damaximus, the big boss of that factory who welcomed him. The moment he said "wellbeing of workers", Lord Damaximus kicked him out of the factory, yelling something about "hating hippies". It was indeed time for that well deserved promotion of Spill. Now he thinks about it, he better should buy a soft cushion for under his behind as his behind hurts a lot due all that hippykicking. Anyway, time to inspect this factory... "Velcome, noble stranger. How can ich help you?" A voice said above him. Ed looked to the balcony, seeing a weirdly dressed guy commanding all the workers. Already failed in the category "boss helping his workers". "Hello sir, I am Inspector Spill, Ed Spill. I am here to rate your factory considering environmental blablabla and safety for your workers." "Hahaha Spill-Ed, Dat iz very funny accurate in my factory!" - the boss replied - "Ich am dr. Pine Sol von Lichtenhouse" "Never heard that joke before..." [drPSvL] Az you can seeh, we have de most innovative equipment in here. We have a crane, pinguins, workers, a fire-pit, some barrels and a Hocuzpocuz-bottle-filler. [spill] Pinguins? [drPSvL] Jawol! Dey got de perfect body-mass-index to pulverize de Pine-Leaves. Das is de ruse of our Pine Sol! [spill] So pinguins, who basically live in the coldest places on earth, are working in a factory, next to a fire pit? [drPSvL] Jawol! Very true! Ich have to admit, dey are very expensive upkeep. [spill] Seriously? Do tell me why... [drPSvL] We have to send dem on vacation every 2 weeks to de very far Nord. Oderwise dey are striking too much. Striking pinguins are never fun working with. [spill] So every two weeks your factory has to close for 2 weeks? [drPSvL] Oh noo, we got plenty enough pinguins. One pair of pinguins on holiday, oder pair is working here. [spill] Allright, and what happens with the pulverized and stamped Pine leaves? [drPSvLH] Dey are added in a big barrel soo dere can be red Corrie Chemical Company Alchemist cubes added. De rezult is bleu Pine Sol! Az said, we got de most innovative technology here... [spill] So those are dangerous Alchemist cubes, and that guy touches them with his skin? [drPSvLH] Oh no! After he lost hiz eye due a chemical aczident, we gave him bandana. He still haz his hair thanks to our precious care! [spill] I was talking about his hands, but thanks for the info! [drPSvLH] Aaah but he haz yellow gloves. True story! [spill] What is the guy with white bandana doing around the big barrel? [drPSvLH] Once de ingredients all turned to blue Pine Sol cubes, he throws dem into de big barrel. Sehr efficient! Now de craneguy fills a grey box with Pine Sol cubes and makes it hang above de firepit. [spill] And the completely red guy with red bandana? What is his job? [drPSvLH] He haz to navigate the box... True Story! [drPSvLH] Und once de cubes are fluid, de box is placed above the HocuzPocuz-Bottle-Filler. Top Notch! [spill] I see... And the grey rat on this floor, what is his meaning in the whole process? [drPSvLH] No idea, nein. But what about your banana in your handz? It haz no meaning neither, haz it? [spill] Point taken... Thanks for the quick tour, I am going now back home. [drPSvLH] You are velcome! Take care, becauze I hear thunder in de distance... Is it thunder? --- Thanks for watching!! C&C welcome :)
  2. "The weft and weave of fate guides the life and action of all sides, and through the tides of time they paint the hands of sinners and of saints." - The Kindred (Probably, I found this poem on twitter) This is my 3rd freebuild, so if you are not Eslandian, feel free to approve if you like what you see. Victor wobbled his way in a hurry, after getting words that the first test shipment had arrived. He had worked hard and long to put everything together, and finally it was time to see the result of his effort. The building was half constructed when the WGO got their gloved hands on it. How it went about he had no clue, but it was a good thing they got it because it was the only building in Bardo that fitted his needs. The window of opportunity was wide open. Long and with lots of windows, it was perfect for taking advantage of Bardos long exposure to the sun. A couple of traders where delivering a crate of the shipment as he arrived the pearly gates. He heard a lot of hustling and bustling from inside. "This is the finest fabric I've ever touched. Servadac will surely be pleased with this test run. The exquisite quality of the Fontanajo cotton makes all the difference in the world", a worker was saying as Victor entered the factory entrance. "Ah, yes it fits, it runs, it Works!!", Victor exclaimed when he saw the machine in action. The attic had room for storing raw cotton, and the finished product was going straight to the docks. The WGO had aquired the prototype of a device named "Spinning Penny" from a Corrington engineer. The setup enables the work of at least 10 spinners to be carried out by a few. There is a slight risk of injuries, but the machine does not require much skills, and workers are easily replacable. As long as there is doubloons to be made, they will come in masses begging to be a part making Fontanajo quality fabric. My photographic ligh conditions opportunity was very brief. Especially the outside shots was a bit dark. I adjusted the brightness of the interior shot to see anything, so the colors are a bit off. Smog have covered my area for weeks, but today I got 15-20 minutes. I had to photograph a residence, my vessel and the factory, so it was hectic. I am very satisfied with this build, but I have not used much advanced techniques, except for the Spinning Jenny (or Penny as I called her). Comments and constructive critique is most welcome :) Edit: And of course I have to give a big thank you to the Cotton King, Román Esteban Fontonajo (Elostirion), for letting the WGO process and make his familys cotton available to the general public.
  3. As you approach Nova Terreli after the long voyage across the Terraversa Sea, one of the signature landmarks on the horizon is this grist mill. Sitting on a short bluff that overlooks the harbor, the blades of the windmill rotate slowly in the wind. While the slow, steady spin might be described as gentle or lazy, it is in fact a powerful force. Farmers bring their wheat and oats to the grist mill to be ground into flour. The millstones are housed in the upper part of the structure -- a post mill that can be rotated to face into the wind. Below is the roundhouse, built around the supporting trestles to create a covered storage area. I’d been playing around with ways to build the roundhouse for a post mill for awhile and finally hit upon a roof design that worked. Ultimately I want to build a version that has a viewable interior with millstones, but this will have to do for now if I’m to get the mill licensed this month.
  4. Gallery The Great Scorpion is My Own Creation I built in LDD. However, it's possible to recreate it with real pieces.
  5. This is my third free build of the month, so approvals and critiques are most welcome. Samuel Amwell’s family have been brewers for generations, but Samuel is the first of his family to leave the mainland and move to the islands. In Weelond on the island of An Holli, Samuel has opened the Weelond Brewing Company. The tropical setting is perfect for growing the sugarcane necessary for distilling rum, and the ingredients for his family’s ale are also plentiful. Samuel works diligently to make sure his rum and ale are the best in the islands, and Eslandolan sailors near and far are quickly becoming familiar with WBC beverages.
  6. Allow me to represent a small factory in Nova Terreli, the Red Top Rum Distillery, makers of the drink of choice in the choicest dockside rum bars with it's guarantee that "your eyesight will return within two days or your money back" it has proven already to be a hit in the dock district. It is based in a former residence which has gone to ruin as has the rest of the neighbourhood, although business is picking up again you will note the boarded up windows, ivy growing everywhere and damaged roof typical of the location. Although the walls add brightness the whitewash is really quite thin and the area as a whole needs some work to get it looking as attractive as other parts of Nova Terreli. Red Top Rum Distillery (i) by Phadeout, on Flickr The interior shows the top floor is where the magic happens with the vats producing both white and golden rum and the ingredients being prepared; downstairs is where the rum ages (but not for long!) and is then bottled or left in casks for deliveries to the local drinking establishments. Red Top Rum Distillery (v) by Phadeout, on Flickr Red Top Rum Distillery (iii) by Phadeout, on Flickr Rum expert I am not - still I hope you like it!
  7. Hello, the LEGO Factory in Billund - what an amazing place. If you like: I have uploaded many images right here. And this is the tour video - tons of bricks. Brick on! Andres
  8. The economic downturn in my City is continuing relentlessly and with the Octan Fracking Company causing local earthquakes one factory closes its doors and moves operations elsewhere. It looks like one of the Gas Tanks they were moving inside slipped off its chain and smashed the concrete and it's just been abandoned They've sealed the Front door with a wooden plank stuffed behind the broken down pipe and nailed into the cement walls. Unfinished wheel hubs and corrugated piping lie around . Inside the main entrance thieves have stolen the bathroom door At the rear some of the railroad tracks have been removed And there's a mysterious leak from the storage tank And there's an interior on the Factory floor And an interior upstairs - just a couple of empty offices, some packing crates and the obligatory rat Hope you enjoy it! Criticism and comments most welcome.
  9. Since Hero Factory first started, I wondered how it could be connected with Bionicle. My current theory is that, after Mata Nui became dormant again, the Agori and Matoran needed a solution to their problems. Glatorian were too weak, and Toa were too few. Over hundreds of years, technology advanced, space travel was harnessed and new planets were discovered. It was then that an enterprising young Agori by the name of Akiyama Makuro finally developed a factory capable of building new warriors, known as Heroes. Do you have a different theory? Post it below!
  10. Early on in the invasion of the so-called Brain Slugs near Makuhero City and on surrounding planets, many HF scientists decided to experiment with the Slugs and their effects on their hosts. In a process similar to the creation of a vaccine using weakened bacteria, a wounded Brain Slug was forcibly connected to the back of a Rookie Hero by the name of Cade Marler. The ethics of the experiment were just as questionable as the results. As the Brain Slug affixed itself to Marler's spine, the young hero's left side- the right side being his dominant side, a feature integrated into recent Hero personality matrices- gradually became sickly green, twisted, mutated... in a similar fashion, rage, destruction, and distrust filled his mind, and he was unable to control it. The physical mutation of the Brain Slug continued to take root, and so did the mental aspect. Over time, however, Cade was able to regain his control over the mental and physical infections. It became a valuable asset. With enough concentration, Marler was able to keep the Slug's effect in check most of the time, and bring forth its anger when he needed it most, specifically in battle. The mutated left arm's spiny protrusions became quite useful weapons against all manners of enemies. Marler still has to be careful, though, because if he overexerts himself the parasitic Brain Slug will take control. ^ CLICK THE IMAGE ABOVE TO VIEW THE FLICKR GALLERY ^ This is my entry for the Hero Or Monster contest. A somewhat simpler build than my usual work, but I still quite like it. The name is random, the backstory isn't. Feedback on the MOC is appreciated.

  12. So yeah, I decided to throw myself into making a hero model that looked good and detailed, looked exactly like a normal, every day HF hero and could also be built in real life (Aside from recolours.) The result? I present to you... Thrusher, Hero of Heroes! (Or, at least, he thinks so.) Basically, the story is that Mr. Makuro wanted to make a hero similar to Thresher, but way better in every way. He sketched up a few designs, throwing away the ones he didn't feel were right along the way. In the end, there were 3 designs left. He passed the designs over to the Design Experts in Hero Factory, and they got to work on improving the designs further. Even later, they found numerous flaws in the designs of two of the three designs, and then there was one. They fixed every flaw and improved every detail and then one flaw remained, although it was so small and unnoticeable that they chose to ignore it and go on with the construction. The armour had the flaw that it would be slightly weaker than Thresher's armour, but the Assembly Tower's programs hadn't been updated to say the specific type of armour that was to be used was in stock. The machines used default, incredibly weak armour instead and so Thrusher, the new hero, was too vulnerable to be sent into extreme battle situations. Now, Thrusher is only used for patrolling the streets of Makuhero City, looking out for crime so he can report to Mission Control and have heroes sent to deal with the situation. Sometimes, though, he fights and easily defeats criminals with his Top Mark Grade Plasma Rocket Shield and Tornado Staff and that leaves people wondering... is he really not fit to go on a real mission? Oh, and LDD file: thrusher.lxf
  13. http://upload.bricks...ry.cgi?f=509943 Matthew Sharpe is the leader of the Zeta team! Strong, quick-witted, and a good leader, he'd go out of his way to help a civilian in need. Armed with a Crusher Claw and a laser-sighted Saw Gun, he's a worthy match for any foe! - $10 Born from an experiment gone wrong, this dragon is a worthy match to all heroes that stand in its way. Armed with sharp claws, wicked talons, clawed wings, and a spiked tail, this beast can strike fear into the cores of Heroes with merely a roar! - $30 Please comment, review, criticize, and most of all... Enjoy!
  14. MSFC: The Secret Factory Here's my build for the MSFC contest. It is the Secret Factory. You will notice the abnormal rock work and the factory and ship.No one knows what is made in the secret factory, but you probably don't want to know. It's a top secret factory in a confidential location. It is not a closed factory, there is always smoke coming out of the towers, always. And a close-up of the ship and factory. Here's what they call the gap. A stream flows through the two rocks. For more info and pictures, visit my flickr C&C are always welcome!
  15. Gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=493436 "Floridian is the best RoboBall player around and the muscle of the Upsilon Team. With his tough armored cladding and gruff, eager-to-win disposition, villains should think twice before tangling with him!" $10 suggested retail. I'm writing a story about my own Hero Team that'll be out by the summer, so stay tuned! Please use constructive criticism, keeping in mind that this is a request MOC (Orange, Blue, White; Football Player), as well as the fact that I build things like a set and do not use that much innovation... Comment away, have fun, and thank you. : )
  16. The biggest Beast seen yet, this Hydra Beast is not one to take lightly! With four heads that spew knockout gas, corrosive liquid, molten lava, and electricity enough to shut down a Hero, this proves that four heads are tougher than one!
  17. Created from the mechs of Evo, Stormer, and Furno, this combiner mech is ready for anything!
