bit late to reply, we build with a group ... mils layouts and don't buy the leds we use broken Christmas lights the LEDs themselves can still be used see result http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=578837 http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=578836

Hey I use cotton wool and rubbing alcohol have the best result with that .. disinfectant alcohol evaporates and you can easily clean the copper elements of the engine I certainly do not use sandpaper it greatly wastes your copper and thus hampering the contact between the motor and power track
-
thanks for the comments the biggest challenge however, is the turns of the tracks how I built these slopes
-
Meanwhile, with a lot of trial and error, I have one of the railway sloping sides planted I found that very difficult.. To make it look realistic . If better ideas to work even nicer and more realistic I would like to hear it.. Thanks patje end result more on: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=573014
