  1. I second that. It's shocking that you haven't got one already :) Haha! In that case, I'd love to know what kind of steroids. My Gringott's could use some beefing up, and if it's that simple...
  2. I've recently bought unused sticker sets for set 6624 and set 6651, to use on modern recreations I've made of those sets. Those stickers are 30 years old, but I'm happy to report that they came off the sheets without problems, and are happily sticking to the (flat) bricks I applied them to. I can't say anything about whether they'll keep on sticking as well as they would if they'd been new, though, as it's not very long since I applied them.
  3. That's just what I was going to say: Welcome to the rest of the world :)
  4. It actually sold for £375.59 - not too bad compared to some of the other crazy prices seen around the web...
  5. That's absolutely brilliant! And the whole design is spot-on, a near-perfect recreation of the Jumper. This would go perfectly with my own town vehicles - I might have to try a bit of reverse-engineering on this :)
  6. Congratulations on your Knighthood! This is a very nice truck - like others here, I really like the way you've used those doors. The roof window is also a neat touch, and those display cabinets are perfect. Good job. I don't much care for fish, but the MOC is great :)
  7. I just managed to sneak a peek at this on Flickr earlier before I went to work, and I'm not exactly surprised that this topic is getting flooded with praise. Every now and then somebody presents a MOC that's so stunning and full of detail that it's very hard to know which details to comment on... so let me just say that I'm completely in awe of your incredible building skills, and that I'm now moving on to Flickr to point out some details. Like... is that a red stapler in there? Let me know when this makes it into the NYC Lego store. I'm going to need to take a trip across the pond to have a butcher's :)
  8. Comments? One: Wow. That's a pretty insane layout plan. Do you have any idea of how long it's going to take you to complete most of this? I'll be following your progress, that's for sure...
  9. I gave my support on Cuusoo quite a while ago, and I just voted for the general store - but these are all so fantastic that I don't really mind. I'd undoubtedly buy any one of them. Hopefully, the car could be included in whichever set gets released (first)... :)
  10. Ah, this is much better than having the Town section flooded with topics... :) That said, you've got some nice MOCs here - I like your hot rods, your yellow delivery van and the office/garage. Some of the others are a bit too 'bling' for my taste (a bit of chrome is nice, a lot of chrome tends to be tacky), but I'm looking forward to seeing more vehicles from you!
  11. Simply stunning! I love the different architecture and the way you've melted them all together with the use of colour. You've got some serious MOCing skills - but that's hardly surprising, knowing the kind of mind-blowing models you've come up with before. It's great to see you use those skills for City buildings! I hope there's more to come - I'll be looking forward to it.
  12. Good point. But I can't recall having seen the newspaper seller's torso before - is that a new print? Or if not, where does it come from?
  13. This is great. It's a wonderfully clean and crisp design, with equally nice interior. And the Apple logos are of course superb. Well done!
  14. I've got them and built them both, and they're both great builds. I'd say get the Maersk if you're thinking about getting into Lego trains - if not, something like the Emerald Night will probably look better on a shelf than the Maersk. And if you're not planning on getting into trains, go for the VW. It's a great design with lots of cool details, and will look nice on display.
  15. Oops! Sorry about that :)
  16. I disagree with MetroID - that's a personal opinion, but that was probably what you wanted :) Fire Brigade is my least favourite of all the modulars thus far - it just doesn't tick the right boxes for me, and it's got only two floors even though it's a tall building. With Pet Shop you get two standalone buildings with different designs, and it's a much more fun build. But, as I said, that's my two cents :)
  17. I like the look of this building - and it is very similar to Badsneaker's Haunted House. Then again, it's pretty much a stereotypical image of what a haunted mansion would look like. I agree with the people placing it outside the modular line. It just doesn't fit, no matter how much you think outside the box. I'd be very surprised if the design itself isn't modular, though, meaning that the floors lift off separately. No matter what it is, I'm looking forward to seeing the finished thing - provided it is actually an upcoming set: Of course it could. But do you remember how the red freight train 'mysteriously' appeared at a fan convention, even though no official news about it was released until four and a half months later? Or how several 2011 City sets were 'accidentally' revealed in the background of another Lego inside video? I think this is Lego's way of placing easter eggs in their own videos. I bet they're reading this forum, laughing at all the crazy speculation :)
  18. Oh, don't get me wrong - I'm totally with you on the details part, and I'm sure she's responsible for the (very impressive) design. But surely, you're not dismissing the fact that it's very similar to the 2007 building? I mean, even the interior layout is basically the same. Anyway, I assume that the design process at a company like Lego is very much teamwork, so although there's one main designer, a whole lot of others have probably provided input.
  19. I do like it! I love the overall design, and the funeral scene is very well done, too. Maybe the next step could be to build it up so it's a few bricks high, and make a proper waiting grave.
  20. Although she might be the set designer, it's very obvious that this set is heavily based on the Town Hall Jamie Berard built back in 2007. So he might not be the main designer on it, but there's no doubt that his influence has played a big part.
  21. This is by far the best-looking designer I've seen thus far. Wonderful! Oh, yeah, and the modular is great, too. Can't wait to get my hands on that :)
  22. I'd suggest asking this guy politely. My experience is that he's generally very friendly, offers excellent service and super quick shipping - and is open to suggestions.
  23. Being an avid car-builder myself, the garage is just the kind of thing I'd love in a modular, but if you don't build cars yourself I can definitely see why you'd want to get rid of it :) As for the staircase, I think it was probably a good idea to chop it in half for the 16-wide. If not, it would just have taken up too much space.
  24. We know :)
  25. I can see why you're going from 32-wide to 16-wide, as it does make new buildings more affordable, but an unfortunate side effect is that the buildings also tend to get less impressive. I haven't seen your old 32-wide version before, and I love it - it's got some great details, like the balcony, the garage and that double staircase out front. It would stand out in a line of modulars - it's different. The new one doesn't tick the same boxes. I like the old sushi sign better (I think grey works better than yellow), and the pink and brown floor doesn't do it for me. It's a bit too colourful for my taste, and it just looks much less sophisticated. In my opinion, you've gone from something great to something average. What I do like, though, is the interior. The bakery and the apartment are both very, very nice.
