Heroica RPG - Cruel Angel's Thesis ~ Day Four
CorneliusMurdock replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
Yes, let's not trust anyone that's been confirmed to be a hero. Instead let's waste time trying to verify their allegiance when the "town core" doesn't really believe in investigations anyway. If one of their own turns up scum, the magnifying glass must be broken. Or even better, let's accuse the investigator. -

Odd. Trying to stir up some trouble? Confirmed Heroes are Confirmed Heroes. If you can't trust dead people, who can you trust? Good job. Hide while casting suspicion on others. I applaud you. -

She didn't initiate any conversation with me. Perhaps she didn't trust me because a certain someone keeps telling everyone that everything I do is scummy. Or perhaps she's not what she claims to be. It'd be pretty perfect for a a scum to claim. Unverifiable and she would already be talking to her scum buddies. It'd be odd to claim that as early as she did, though, unless the scum were worried about Doggy. My biggest suspects right now are Candy and Dexter. Candy made the "I've got to post something but I don't really know what to say so I'll be vague and hope no one notices" post yesterday. If you're paying attention at all, you should have something better to say. And Dexter seemed to immediately want to place blame on me for Patricia's death. That could just be his ego, thinking that everything revolves around him or the scum mindset of pre-emptive blame. I don't think the mere fact that Patricia died implicates him but rather his reaction to it. -

They don't want you to fight back. Better just relax and let them kill you. Whatever you do, don't question them. They don't like that. -

You can only pull the wool over the town's eyes for so long. At least my corpse will be the first paving stone on your road to ruin. I take great comfort in that. And that the dwarven afterlife is about a million times more awesome than wherever you'll end up. -

I'm sleeping, Kharybdis. I can't take cover. Enjoy your short-lived victory before the rest of the town figures out your game. Someone confirmed to me last night that one of yours was scum. I'll let them speak up about it. -

No, there's scum in your group. It just turns out that Calico was a puppet and not a puppeteer. Time will tell which one you are. My money's on puppeteer. -

You wouldn't believe how sleepy and confused and annoyed I am. -
There were at least two other people saying it earlier, dad, if you're referring to the lynch thing. You might want to find your reading glasses. And calling out Candy was an insight. As was pointing out Dexter's narcissism. As I said before, dad, you seem to want to see me a certain way and nothing I do seems to change that. I've been defending myself, yes, because people are mistakenly calling me scum. It's been a decent part of this night/day/whatever Tam wants to call it. Sorry for being on topic, I didn't realize that would annoy you.
-
So you're saying I killed someone because she was arguing with you? Full of yourself much? People keep saying that I'll be the top lynch target. I welcome the oppurtunity to calmly debate with you all. I'm not scum so whatever you guys want to bring up against me, I can put to rest and we can all move on.
-
Why would I need to have Patricia killed? I think I was doing quite fine arguing away her points. Her own viewpoint had it's own holes that she didn't consider and that I pointed out in my last post. No, this happened the day before, didn't it? I placed the first vote, yes. And that was because of your statements about him. I'm sorry, I just looked back and you're right. The conversation happened Day 3 and we would not have had the opportunity to vote until the next night. Which is why the days and nights being backwards for no apparent reason is just confusing and doesn't really serve a purpose. But as I pointed out, this was before your revelations about your role and Doggy's knowledge of stuff. I think a fair number of us wouldn't have found him half as suspicious before then.
-
And I never said we should let him slide. At the time, I didn't find him suspicious enough to lynch. A few of us obviously agreed or he wouldn't have lasted as long as he did. And even if a vote were to start on him, Doggy had a habit of squeezing his way out of things. He could be sly when he tried. It was not a guarantee that he'd be lynched. An investigation result on someone as slippery as him would have been useful later. And I explained in my previous post when I envisioned that later time to be: when the investigator had several results to give us that could sway the game or he or she could be assured of protection. Do you think if we didn't have Kristina that an investigator should never, ever come forward? What would be the point in having one if they never actually let anyone else know of their results? I understand the difficulties brought about by the lack of privacy in this situation, but eventually they would have come forward or resign themselves to remain useless to us.
-
I don't recall saying the investigator should out themselves. I certainly didn't expect anyone to be so stupid to out themselves just to tell us one result. That'd be like accusing someone of trying to get the vig to out themselves if they just stated that someone was scummy and should be vig-killed. No one expects the vig to say, "No, you can't tell me what to do". And no one would infer that the person saying it was trying to get the vig to go after someone the scum was already protecting. If Doggy hadn't done more scummy things that warranted his lynch, it would have been nice to have an investigation result on him later, say when an investigator was either sure of being protected or had a bunch of results to share. Now that we know that my sister can initiate private conversations, it seems like a better idea for them to wait to be contacted, assuming she can continue to contact more people throughout the game.

Dad, Doggy knowing about Kristina's conversations is exactly why we all think he's scum. What is with you today? -

I hardly think I'm blowing things out of proportion. You're the one oinking at me. I offered my suspicions. I thought your "reveal everything" plan wasn't sound. And I voted for someone I believe to be scum. How is that not contributing? Has everyone else caught all the scum already and I missed it? You're seeing only what you want to see and I don't see how I'm supposed to respond to that. -

I haven't been responding to your accusations because there isn't really much to say, Dad. You're meta-gaming me. Anything I say only seems to make you berate me more. That's why I chose to ignore you after the colon thing. I've already had an intense fight elsewhere today, and I thought that ours might wait until later. All I can say for now is that you're wrong. It's been a while since we've been in a situation like this together and a while since I've been in one at all. You're not picking up what you think you are and it's really too bad that I can't set the record straight for you without being overheard. I like it better when we get along, dad. -
Heroica RPG - Cruel Angel's Thesis ~ Day Three

I'm hoping that somehow the evil will slip up in the night and at least a few of you will believe me. A certain Cleric may even want to try her scroll again. I feel that I have to survive one more day to fight the good fight. I'm sorry if you see that as selfish but it'll benefit us all if it helps expose the evil.- 343 replies

I really couldn't tell you what your colon did but I'm not cleaning it up.
