Mafia After Dark - Night 1: The Godfather
Peanuts replied to Tamamono's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I'm all for a lynch. We can't just sit around and wait for the Ferraris to make the first move, we've got an advantage and we have to use it. We don't lynch, we lose a loyal member, maybe two or three, depending on the SK and the vigilante. Lynching will do well. Some people will accuse each other, some people will just walk the middle ground, some people will fly under the radar, some will just be sheep and jump on the bandwagon. Either way, that's information. That's something we don't gain by not lynching. Granted, we only have a small chance to catch scum, but it's a chance, and usually we only lose a member who's acting weird (or drunk). I really don't like to call it a policy lynch, as the lynchee should be someone who's slightly scummy. -
Mafia After Dark - Night 1: The Godfather
Peanuts replied to Tamamono's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Right, your son's called Tam. But you don't look very retired to me, holding the family gathering and giving all these speeches about loyalty and investors and Ferraris in our mid. It's not hard to make something out of nothing, I once deducted $2,000 from taxes after buying a pack of smokes...that had fallen from the back of a truck. Of course I haven't forgot you. Do I look like I would forget something? -

The Ferrari's are back? Don't worry, Bernard, you beat them the last time, you'll do it again. And having moles in our rows? Wonder what happened to honor and manners. Back in my day, we used to fight fair. Things just aren't the way they used to be... What do you mean, Bernard? When did you stop being the head of the family? Oh, and how's your son doing, haven't seen him for ages. I remember him run around at our family gatherings...how old is he now? 14? And don't worry about economics, I've got that covered. It's all just about writing numbers in your books. No problem at all. -
Mafia After Dark - Day 1: Confirmation
Peanuts replied to Tamamono's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Great speach, Bernard. I remember being told how they used to handle illoyal members back in your father's day, good old times, before my time I'm afraid... Is it just me, or are the guests at these family meetings getting younger and younger...too young for me, at any rate. And these parties didn't use to cost that much. All these fancy monkeys and cherries in the drinks...young people just don't know the value of a dollar - before you ask, the value of a dollar is three and a half dollars, maybe more. -
1. I...played some games. My profile says I played nine games, so...about 15? No idea, really. I don't play outside of EB. 2. Well, I definitely improved since Eurodina and Bloodbricks, but I guess that wasn't hard. One of my weaknesses is that I have a tendency to get really paranoid, even when I'm scum. Maybe I'm a bit too passive, too. And I always stop roleplaying after Day Two. As for my strengths...sometimes I'm just right? Anyway, I need to improve my scumreads. 3. I didn't turn out too well for the town in Belville, which I played in, but it definitely makes things interesting.

Great game! I really liked playing a more simple one again, so thanks a lot for hosting, Trumpet. You did really well in your first game, hope to see you hosting again. I also liked the theme, though I must say, I was a bit confused about reading that I was the Sea Captain in my role PM, and almost put it in my siganture I don't think I was in top form, which is a shame, because a lot of players did really well. Purpearl caught three scum on day one, that's incredibly impressive. Zakura did a good job investigating Tammo and then trusting the right people. The town block in general apparently worked together well. Also, I was almost sure Kristel was town. And I started to get less suspicious of Tammo on Day Two. So, good job to the scum team as well, I guess. Still I enjoyed the game a lot and had plenty of fun playing with you all. *to Henry* So, any final words? I'm sorry I stopped talking to you at some point. I'm not good at roleplaying. No hard feelings? Well, that's nice. Anything else you want to tell the people? Aw, isn't that cute? *end of monologue*

Alright, let's do this. Vote: Balthasar Jameson (Kristel) Discussion seems to have come to a halt, so I guess there's no reason to withhold my vote any longer. We've got a sufficient margin for error, so while I'm not entirely sold on this lynch, I will put my trust in the town block.
-
Until now I actually thought both Balthasar and Rocky were town, but if necessary, I'll take the judgement of the town block over my own. It seems we have a well-organized town, and it would be wrong to just ignore what you found out. You seem to be really sure of this, and in my experience, when organized townies are that sure of something, they are probably right (or it will end in a disaster). And he's claimed vanilla and we've got a lead over the scum, so we can take the risk. We've still got plenty of time left, so I won't vote right now. Also, I want to see what exactly he's going to "pull together to prove he's town".

Hm, it's strange that a scum member would lie and tell us to have a minifigure that's as monstrous as their own, but hey, I don't mind. That also explains why that's the only figure that stood out. Oh, in case you were wondering who's talking to you, it's Captain A-hair-ica! This vibranium hairbrush takes some getting used to, but I think I've got the hang of it Amanda now is basically my top suspect. Yesterday I already addressed why I was suspicious of her (something she never replied to, by the way) and today the only major thing she said was dripping with WIFOM (as she herself pointed out) and didn't actually provide any insight.

I still think Romeo's accusation wasn't very well done. It didn't hold any weight, and I felt like he kept arguing just to keep arguing. Paris response on the other hand struck me as inappropiately harsh, and I felt I should point out that I didn't think she was as townie as she tried to tell us. I didn't really make any points against Romeo at all and I certainly wasn't going to vote for him. I suspected Paris, but not enough to vote for a player that active that early. I thought there was the possibility that she was just overconfident and tried to form a town block. As I said, I didn't want the day to end without a lynch. Also, if I recall the situation correctly, I didn't place the hammer vote, but that's really not important at all. There wasn't that much time left, and I knew the bandwagon wouldn't turn around, so the only two possible outcomes were Brittney or no lynch, and Brittney had not followed up with a defense after she told us she had been drunk. That's why I voted for her.
-
I'd say the Alien Avenger definitely looks monstrous, even if he hasn't been featured as scum member yet (probably the reason why all the other scum apparently claimed wrong figures). For that reason, I vote: Abraham Petruzzi (Fred Daniel Yam) Sorry, I'm not sure I understand what you say. You don't think there's a correlation between figures and scum, but you are voting because of his behavior, is that correct? *to Henry* What's your favorite CMF, Henry? There is no Comb Suit Guy. I'm no CMF either. But that's a cute thing to say. *end of monologue*

Fair enough, and I doubt revealing Melanie as cleared gives the scum an advantage. I was more concerned about people who didn't seem particularly scummy and would make good metagame kills as well. Of course, revealing her can also help build up a town core, so I guess it's a good thing. Also, Amanda is among my prime suspects. Not as much because she said Carlisa wasn't on her list, but because she only roleplayed and flew under the radar on day one, then on day two she started by speculating about the vigilante, and then, when we got the result, made a long post full of fluff in which she basically distanced herself from Paris. Apart from that, there's not much to go on, so I'd really like her to speak up. I haven't actually paid much attention to Janice so far, but I find it odd Laurence would tell her more than everyone else about Paris. There was an accusation against Paris, but it wasn't aggressive. Abraham has been incredibly unhelpful so far. He's not someone I'd mind to lynch.
-
Two scum down, that's good. My hair's still perfect, even better. Investigator confirmed, that's also good, though I don't know if you should make town results public. Sure, we don't have to waste time accusing those who were cleared, but it also gives the scum targets. Excellent analysis. He tried to tell us several times how much he thinks Paris is scum and her claim is improbable, yet doesn't vote for her until the lynch is inevitable. I doubt there's only four scum, but I don't see how discussing that is going to help us right now. We have no indication for the number of scum.
-
I won't be letting her off the hook, but it would be quite an audacious move to claim cop, wouldn't it? Especially since they have to assume we actually have a cop who could counterclaim. And just to lynch a tracker, who they just as well might kill at night instead.
-
I agree. If Paris is town, we shouldn't just jump to the conclusion that the claim is a lie. There are more possibilities, and it's unlikely someone would lie that early. *to Henry* This investigation result seems to have a bad effect on the discussion. And on my hairstyle, too! I can feel my hair volume deminishing! You're right, it still looks perfect. Of course. Nothing to worry about...I'll just take a deep breath and calm down. *end of monologue* So, where was I? Oh, yeah, the discussion. I think if Paris is scum, it's less likely that certain people are scum, such as Ronald, Benvolio or me. Also, I wonder why Juliet seems to be so inclined to lynch someone who might be an investigator?
-
I doubt the scum would bank on the fact that there is no cop to counterclaim, at this point in the game they cannot possibly be sure there is none. I think it's either a frame, a miller (which would be a really weird coincidence) or a real result. A frame wouldn't be too far off, I remember a situation in an asylum where an extremely unexperienced investigator targeted the framee on night one and they were eventually lynched. The circumstances were slightly different, but Paris makes a good frame target. Still, we can't bank on that. We mustn't ignore an investigation result, and I have been suspicious of Paris before (as well as the late Lawrence). *to Henry* You agree, don't you? No, I'm sure Paris isn't being manipulated by her blow-dryer. Blow-dryers can't do that, that would be silly.*end of monologue*

Actually, the majority was reached less than three hours before the day would have ended. Why so concerned with looking scummy? The mafia killer is, sure. The vig is just a very common role, not a necessity. We were promised simplicity, after all. Oh, I also got one of these messages from Lawrence. I received it about 11 hours before the Day started, I don't know if the scum had already settled for a target by then, but it's at least not too unlikely. Why would you believe Lawrence had a night action? I see no indication that she had one, or what it might have been, so I don't think discussing that will help us in any way.

Collectible Minifigures Mafia - Day One
Peanuts replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
While Romeo's accusations are fairly half-baked and unsubstantial, I find it a bit odd that you feel the need to point out how you are "one of the towniest townies". I don't say it's strange that you are more active than others, and I appreciate that you are, but so far all you've done is hammering Brittney. Now you react rather harsh to being criticized (even though Romeo's criticism is completely unfounded). My best guess is that you're trying to establish yourself as center of the town block, which isn't scummy, but I won't say I've got a towntell on you yet. I won't say that Brittney's claim (having been drunk) is unlikely, her contributions are usually better than what we've seen at the start of the day. But we need a lynch and her defense has been lacking. Also, there's a saying that goes "In Vino Veritas" Thus I Vote: Brittney Alfredo (Piratedave) *to Henry* Aren't you going to vote, Henry? Oh right, you're not allowed to vote. No, I don't think that's personal, they only let humans vote, I think. Ha, you're right. "In Coma Veritas". Reminds, I need to style my hair instantly! *end of monologue* -
Collectible Minifigures Mafia - Day One
Peanuts replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
This really is not the kind of response I'd like to see from a townie. I'm far from certain that she is scum, I didn't think scum would tell us that blatantly not to analyze, but that defense is definitely not a towntell. Also, I don't get the last sentence: "You should do it [vote] now before the bandwagon picks up steam; it's easier for scum to hide if you vote early." I don't get it. At all. The town should vote early so the scum can hide? Have you already given up on the town? You're no help, really. I don't know. Maybe she actually is a scum member who tried and failed to hide in the background by making a nonsential, unhelpful post, giving her "two cents" that she had to make up. It's better than nothing. *to Henry* Your opinion? Yes, her hair is bland and boring. Oh, and thanks for the compliment. Of course, I couldn't maintain such perfect hair without your help. Don't get cocky. You're not the only hair brush out there, you know? I'm not threatening you! You're watching too many mafia movies. Any help with the current situation? Of course not...why am I even asking you? *end of monologue* -
Collectible Minifigures Mafia - Day One
Peanuts replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Why would town players want to get the attention away from them so badly? I guess you're talking about Paris, because she was the first to talk about analyzing, but I know her and she's never really been one to turn attention away from her [no roleplaying, I actually mean it]. And so far we've always found something to analyze. Sure, most Day One lynches are townies, but successful play starts on the first day, not on the second and certainly not on the eleventh (as Melanie has suggested). *To Henry* What's your opinion, Henry? You've been awfully quiet lately. Oh, come on. I'm sure Paris didn't mean it when she called you a pet. Also, you kind of started it. Oh, look who's cute when he's sensitive. Whosa good boy? Alright, I'll stop. So, are you going to help us catch scum or are you going to stay miffed all day? *End of monologue* -
Collectible Minifigures Mafia - Day One
Peanuts replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
If we don't lynch anyone today, we have absolutely nothing to go on tomorrow (unless the night actions find something out, but let's not rely on night actions). Not lynching on day one is not a good idea. Not to mention that if we now decide to not lynch anyone, it will seriously curb our discussion today. -
Collectible Minifigures Mafia - Day One
Peanuts replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I was talking to Henry the Hair Brush. He was using very harsh language. As you might have noticed by the fact that the sentence before was addressing him, as well as the sentence before that. I sometimes talk to Henry, you know. Henry may be a jerkass, but he's a damn good hair bush. [should I use some kind of color or font when I'm talking to myself from now on? I can see how this is confusing] -
Collectible Minifigures Mafia - Day One
Peanuts replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Okay, let's analyze! Henry, do you want to go first? Alright, I'll start then. Well, first Mercutio said something, then Paris told us to analyze. No read yet, though I'm fairly sure Mercutio is an NPC. And my hair is to scientifically be considered perfect. Now you, Henry! Hm, that was less than stellar, I must say. Okay, okay, I'll give you more time. But don't be so rude to Paris, analyzing posts is a good strategy. It's not her fault there are no posts yet. -
Collectible Minifigures Mafia- Confirmation
Peanuts replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Only one person left to confirm. Well, I don't want to mention anyone by names, but... Actually, pictures work just fine So, it seems we're almost ready to go. Are you excited, Henry? I see. So, let's talk about my hair, shall we? Did you know it's air and water tight? And fireproof at up to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit? And unlike Paris here color and length are 100% natural.- 85 replies
