CMF Mafia 2 - Day 2 - Special Delivery
Peanuts replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Still, how is that curse going to help us one bit? It's not that it made her more likely to slip up if she was scum, instead it would just give her a good excuse to keep a low profile if she wanted to. -

What made you change your opinion? In the bgeninning of the day you seemed intend on lynching derek, now you say you believe him. Did him claiming that he investigated Kelly really change your mind completely? Why so? I don't see why a townie would curse her. It's really annoying and I can't imagine how it's supposed to help the town. -

Damn. Guess that changes things. Not that I believe your accusation, I still feel more comfortable with my vote where it is. Helen is not a cleared townie by any means, but your accusation doesn't hold enough weight to justify a conviction. She hasn't struck me as particularly anti-town so far -

Wow, Bleep has to be really important if the scum goes to such lengths to keep him alive for another night. Is he the converter or something? Or this is just the weirdest townie move ever...either way, I'm not buying it. My vote stands where it is. -

I don't know, I must admit I didn't follow the last game. So, that's not what you said? Well, I meant Timothy actively tried to get peopel to lynch Kingsley, while Bleeb just walked by and voted. There's a distinction there. Not to say that scum wouldn't push for a power role. That's what Carl does, after all. -

If your statement was in reply to the Sally's you just quoted, why didn't you tell so in the beginning? Also, Sally said that the scum probably wanted to get Kingsley lynched, not that they were behind the lynch. Jumping on the bandwagon in the last minute is scummier than pushing hard for the lynch. Your reply doesn't convince me that we shouldn't lynch you. I still think Carl is scum, but to me you are the second best candidate. Since everyone else doesn't even regard my accusation of Carl, I'll vote: Bleeb (Bob) -

I guess right now you can't tell me when I've been lurking, but once you can, I'd be interested to learn. Damn, your speech affection is annoying. I really hope you'll be better soon. Actually, I mentioned her too. I found her suspicious. Guess I was wrong. -

Who keeps saying that? I know I said it backs up the investigator claim. I never said it must be real. Also, it's technically two to save one, isn't it? I can only think of the Faith Healers. But it's Day Two. We've had one lynch. Keeping themselves safe for a day isn't much of an achievement. No, an uncontested claim is not enough, that's why I haven't told Derek my identity yet. But it's the best we have. And as far as I can tell, we can only verify him two ways: Him finding scum or us lynching him. I prefer the former. I can see where you are coming from with the accusation against Bleeb. I find it weird how he tries to make a case against Timothy, only because Timothy insisted on lynching Kingsley, which many of us stood behind. There's nothing scummy about the fact that Timothy doesn't want to end a without a lynch. And Bleeb placed the hammer vote without voicing his doubts about Timothy, it's definitely odd that he now tries to blame Timothy. I'm still more suspicious of Carl Nemoss for the reasons I pointed out earlier. But the case against Bleeb makes sense and I wouldn't miss him too much, so I'd be willing to lynch either of the two. -

Just because I'm in the room, doesn't mean I have the time to contribute, you know? What we currently know seems to suggest that power roles have less monster-y identities than vanillas. I'm sure the scum would love to find out whether that's true or not. Nothing here has convinced me that it's a good idea to share our identities yet. If I shared my identity, I think I'd prefer to tell it to Derek in private, seeing as there's no counterclaim. -

Faith in her judgement. If she's made everything up, what's the point in asking her to "reveal" the identities? And if she speaks the truth about the claims, when she says that the Faith Healer's identities are less monstrous, I'll roll with that. Not going to happen. I won't trust either of you until you're proven to be monsters, but you haven't done anything that suggests you are town. -

I think you should try to keep the claims straight from now on. It really helps a lot. Well, that doesn't change the fact that either Helen is lying or we have two more claimed non-monsters. The main part of the accusation against Derek was that he said he had a non-monster identity, which some people, me included, interpreted as slip-up. I myself doubt the scum would risk two more of their own just to save one, so apparently there are townies without monstrous alter egos. Also, not only did the faith healers confirm that not all townies have monster identities, but they also confirmed that they were put in the style of "monster ______", which a scum member had no wayof knowing (unless somebody let it slip). All this makes it less likely that Derek is scum, yet you keep pushing for his lynch. Well, that's standard town play, not everyone can have all the info, or the scum will have it too. I'm not sure if I want to have the alter egos published, but if Helen says they are less monstrous than Fortune Teller, I'll have to believe her judgement. But you have my sympathy, I'm sure it's hard to play scum when everyone's withholding valuable information from you. How are the names and the secret identities of the Faith Healers important? The names won't come into importance unless we decide to lynch them, and the identities only in order to back up Derek's claim, and as I said, we'll have to go with Helen's judgement. Considering that all the power roles we know of so far don't fall into what would usually be called a monster (Fortune Teller, Scarecrow, whatever the Faith Healers are) one might come to the conclusion that that power role equals non-monstrous secret identity. Or not, I have no idea, and I don't want to discuss this theory too much, as it only helps the scum. -

I disagree. If there is a known townie, a town block can be created behind the scenes. If the scum know who was cleared, they can kill them and avoid that town block. The scum have enough information already, we shouldn't share more with them than we have to. -

Derek has claimed investigator, which is both the most common and the most powerful role. By the way, I've looked at what you said yesterday, which didn't take too long, since you didn't say very much yesterday. Even Henry the Hair Brush said more than you. Your first post was pure roleplaying, which is okay in the dawn of the first day. I think any actual townie would know that last statment is very wrong. Like always in witch hunts, we don't usually have much to go on day one, but this seems more solid than it could have been. Let's see if this lynches a nice human as opposed to an evil monster. Then we can feast! Vote: Derek Polanes (Darth Potato) In your second post, you basically reiterate why everyone else was voting Derek: He said he had non-monster figure when the rest of us had monsters. And in the third post: Okay, fair enough. You seem to mix up role cop and cop here. Also, you go to great lengths to explain that Fortune Teller is not a monster. We get it. And you seem to be very intent on lynching our Cop. Helen mentioned that the Faith Healer's identity was less of a monster, and that's why she wante dto lynch the Faith Healer instead: To test if that's the case. Also, I'm not sure what you mean by "the rest of us know even less about this new claim then we know about the last one". I'll assume that the last one refers to Derek's cop claim (the other Faith Healer had not claimed at that point, for all we know), so duh, we knew everything about Derek's claim. About the Faith Healer, we knew everything but the person claiming and the identity. It sounds like you were fishing for more info, though. And that's all you said. And everything about your posts is scummy in my opinion. I just realized that this sentence can be hard to understand. To clarify: I meant, Helen wanted to lynch the Faith Healer to see if there are monsters without a monster alter ego. Sorry -

I agree that the kill is most likely a scum kill, the letter gives it away. A smart vigilante probably would not kill on the first night unless they are very suspicious of someone, so I'm not surprised there is no vig kill. About the Sk, well, I have no idea. There are more than enough ways a kill could fail (though we seem to have lost or blocker), or maybe there is none. There's no point to wildcatting about that. They dyed their hair with a mixture of lead and vinegar. How's that not monstrous? It's probably just a cameo. I wouldn't interprete too much into it. Scarecrow isn't the most monstrous of monsters, so I feel no need to prove that players can have non-monster identities by lynching one of the faith healers. -

Peanuts replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I'm thinking about it. He told me in private he had a role (I didn't really want to know what), and I was considering unvoting him. But if it's the blocker, I'm less sure. Would be a shame to lose a power role early on... I won't be around when the day ends, so this is kind of important. I have half a mind to change my vote to Caitie, but I'm far from convinced she's scum and I don't think a bandwagon on her will form either way. I also have half a mind to keep my vote on Kingsley. And come to think of it, the scarecrow might as well be a council member. Scarecrow is also a good identity to make up, since it's a non-human, but not a monster per se, so less likely to be already taken by a real monster. The fact remains that Mencatta was saying she was a witch in response to Sally talking about identity cards. I'll admit she can be difficult to follow and one can overlook that at first, but you persisted after I pointed it out and accused me of defending her. I still think your initial post might have been meant to be a distraction, or scum trying to just post something. What? Didn't the gladiator use their role? And didn't that end less than optimal? How is this the same case? And why do you want him to claim something?- 267 replies

And then he can explain how his actions were in the best interest of the town. Lynching you is better than lynching a claimed cop and lynching nobody. I'll just Vote: Kingsley of the Starfish (KingOfTheZempk)- 267 replies

Alright, I guess that lends credibility to the claims and it appears that power roles actually can be non-monsters. All the more reason not to publish our identities. Unvote: Derek Polanes (Darth Potato) I saw you ignoring information and pointed that out. It's funny that you make it sound like I defended her, when you brought up two quick, weak cases while at the same time losing not one word about your opinion on the faith healers. I come to think you were trying to distract. I'm not sure if you are roleplaying or not. You would let your gameplay be influenced by how your actions look? If you're town, you don't need to do that. Scum have to care about appearing town. Townies are town.- 267 replies

This must be the laziest thing ever. "I'd rather kill the claimed Faith Healer than the claimed Cop, but there's not enough time, so whatever." We still have more than 12 hours left, if I'm not mistaking. Identities can be revealed in that time, and lynches can be turned around. So far I'm waiting for the second faith healer to somehow prove the first one (but hopefully not in public, we've had enough public claims already). Probably they should claim to Helen.- 267 replies

Proof? No. But why would a scum member out their identity? It's very risky and offers few reward. Judgig from the limited pool of monsters, I'd say it's likely one of us is a witch, yet nobody countered her.- 267 replies

Peanuts replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
After all this discussion why couldn't you come in at this point and simply say you were the Monster Fortune Teller. Did anybody tell Derek or anybody by the point of the above post how their Role PM was structured? Why couldn't you have said this earlier? Why did this come 24 hours after the first discussion of your alter ego? You're making a good point here. To me, these two posts by Derek don't seem consistent, I can't see how listing the monster figures and theorizing that the indentities are random is supposed to say that he's a monster version of a minifigure. It almost sounds like he received new information after the first post. That's interesting. I'm wondering whether scum would claim Faith Healer. It's a very comfortable claim, since you don't have to actually do anything and even have an excuse in case your action fails, and the role is rare enough a counterclaim is unlikely, but why claim there's another one? I don't think the scum would risk two players just to save one, and I find it hard to believe that one of the faith healers is scum and the other is town. So, if we hear of another claim, I'd be inclined to believe. Mikatta said pretty much the first thing today that was of substance: She outed herself as the witch. You seem to ignore that.- 267 replies

Still against it. While the role-identity context should be a bit less clear than last time, I could think of a few implications. I wouldn't want to share them, though. Wildly speculating is not helping us, and I'll let the scum do their homework themselves. Shit. You should have stopped after Fortune Teller, I think. Oh right, you're doing this to save yourself from getting lynched, sorry.- 267 replies

Peanuts replied to TrumpetKing's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
It would certainly give the scum trouble, but it also could leave our power roles vulnerable. I'd prefer to handle this the way we did it last time, telling our identities to somebody in private who'd look for oddities. The closest I have to a person I could trust would be Mencatta, for blurting out his identity earlier. I'm not really fond of the idea of sharing our identities yet.- 267 replies

Well, thanks for repeating the case against Derek. So far nobody else seems to have a non-monster as alter ego, so this vote is going to be easy. Vote: Derek Polanes (Darth Potato) I have absolutely no idea what this is supposed to mean.- 267 replies

What exactly, the monologue? The last time power roles could actually be deduced from the identities, which is why it might be a good idea not to share them publicly. We were asked about our identities by someone who was likely to be town, in private, which I think would be a good idea this time as well. Unfortunately, at this point there's nobody I trust in particular, so we shouldn't share our identities right now in my opinion.- 267 replies
