  1. I believe that's a risk we have to take, as someone is going to vote anyway, so we will get a conviction, no matter what, and since all "evidence" we could get would be circumstantial at best, all we really can do is to make sure that we won't convict a person who's outspoken and proactive. So no matter who we kill, we can't get too wrong, if we use our heads. I'd prefer to kill a Mutineer rather than a useless Templie, but if we are wrong and whoever we kill was no Mutineer after all, we still won't have lost too much. And Yasu's statement certainly wasn't "nothing", Shiro. I still don't really think she's scum, but together with her deficient "defense" it's a testimony of stupidity, if you ask me.
  2. Hasn't Filoni once said in some interview that the whole Maul thing was Lucas' idea? Is it just me, or is The Clone Wars not about Clones and War anymore? I mean, we just had four episodes about bounty hunters, before that we had Mandalore, which was okay, but didn't contain Clones or War on a siginificant level either. Now we will get more about Ventress, Opress and Maul, but not about the Clone Wars. Frankly, I'd like to see something like the Umbara arc again, or just something that senters on War, because that's what the show should be about. Right now, from season to season they are taking more distance from the real Clone War and focus on stuff like Bounty Hunters (which is okay), the Senate (), or even Ventress/Maul () and Mortis. I'd really like to see something more straight-forward.
  3. Just to make that clear, I have not been defending her. I have evaluated her and came to the conclusion she most likely was just an overly paranoid Family member. But I never said I was sure about that, I was simply voicing my opinion about her and about Emi's logic. And voicing opinions is never wrong. So, she now has "defended" herself, and rather poorly. She didn't address the point Emi made, she was whiny (all that "I can't stay up all night" and "I'm already dead" talk) and she displayed a great lack of understanding for this situation. Yes, people have been lynched before because of inactiveness. But not before at least 48 hours some time has passed, so that we could really say who's quiet and who's sleeping. And, honestly, on day one more often than not people have died who were annoyingly outspoken in a way that didn't help the town at all. Especially her lack of understanding is what makes she rather useless for us, together with her paranoia and selfishness.
  4. I'd guess this lamp thing's intention was to prove the correctness of his prophecies, that the second one must come true if the first one did, like in McBeth, and maybe it's going to be a running gag. But I'll keep in mind that the number of the genies could hint to the number of Mutineers, but considering we are 32 people in this temple, only 5 Mutineers seems a bit few, doesn't it?
  5. You're right, she could have made an arbitrary act. This statement wasn't a bright idea, no matter if she's Yakuza or a traitor, so I guess I can't argue with common sence here. If she actually knows what she's doing, I must agree her behaviour would be explicitly anti-town. But if she does, her statement was a game tactic, so she would have been playing the game in the discussion thread, which is highly reprehensible in my opinion. I myself don't think she is aware of what she's doing, while she is indeed afraid of suspicion, propably wrongfully thinking "suspicion equals death equals losing". Such thinking can be harmful for the Family, which is why I agree that she wouldn't be a great loss. Though I must say, I'm a bit surprised about this all, since I thought Yasu was a bit more experienced, but I don't have any other explanation. I'd really like to hear what she has to say about her motives behind that declaration.
  6. Nobody's wearing an eyepatch, so why don't we start with the person wearing a sailor suit instead? I'd say that comes close enough
  7. I believe, what she means, is, that we won't be able to kill one of those traitors if we don't vote. While I myself usually prefer not to lynch someone with few to no evidence on the first day, but since no majority is required and there's so many of us, I am quite sure that we will get a conviction today.
  8. This day has just started, I haven't even got my herbal tea yet and you've already talked that much. I'm glad we're such a big family, but bigger families make it harder for us to find these honorless traitors. It appears some of you have already come up with something suspicious. I must say, I don't think it's a scumtell, since scum would usually try to avoid attention like this. So she obviously tried to defend herself even before she was attacked, even before we started to look for the Mutineers among us, although any scum should have known we wouldn't attack someone for being quiet early in the game, since there are different time zones sleep-wake cycles, so nobody would have cared anyway. So, therefore, if there is at least one experienced (or at least logically thinking) scum member they wouldn't have approved of her defending herself in the discussion thread yesterday in the evening. So, I myself think she is just being a paranoid, self-centered, but nonetheless loyal member of the Yakuza (no offence). Why paranoid and self-centered? Because a Yakuza or Mutineer who's not paranoid won't assume they would be accused, and a Yakuza who's not self-centered won't really care if they are accused, they'll simply do their best to defend themselves after reading the accusation and if they fail, they'll die in honor. So they certainly won't care about being under suspicion, either, especially if there's no reason for them to be suspected. They will care about the Family, not about themselves. I agree with your premiss, but not with your conclusion. In an ideal case, a true Yakuza (why are you talking about "Townies" anyway, we're in a temple, not in a town ) will not try to act innocent, as I said above, but sometimes young aspirants, who still have to learn, care more about themselves than about the Family. They fear being killed so much, that they try to act innocant, and don't realize how they harm the Family that way.
  9. That's what aforesaid person told us back then, too. Turns out, he never quite managed to get to that doctor. Really, stutter is a serious ailment which shouldn't be underestimated, it kills faster than you might believe...
  10. Oh, you're s-stuttering. I remember people getting killed because of their stutter, even though some other people denied the stutter was the reason. At least, it doesn't increase your longevity.
  11. Why exactly is everything regarding the recent episode written as spoiler, while any information about future episodes is not? I usually try to keep the MLP talk to a minimum, but since I already started posting...Seems like the episodes are going to air three hours later from March on. I guess that's good for most of you, but for once I actually stood to benefit from the time zones.
  12. Congratulations, Fugazi and Pandora! You defintely deserve the tags.
  13. I, Isamu, am here and ready to kill all those Mutineers. Let's get this over with, so we all can leave this temple and attend to our usual business.
  14. Or you simply choose "Spoiler" from "Other styles".
  15. 1. I've played quite a few mafia games so far, feel free to look at my profile, I've got them all there. 2. I'll have an oral examination in March, but except for that, school's all but over, and I've got nothing to do after that, so I'll be able to post frequently from now until, say, September. I figure that will be enough. 3. I tried to learn some Hiragana characters at some point, but I never quite got the hang of it. I might try again, though. I don't speak Japanese (but I've watched Hetalia in Japanese, does that count? ). About history, I'm very interested in the history of Japan, I've read a lot about the Sengoku Jidai, the Azuchi-Momoyama period, the Edo period and the Meiji era, which are the ages I'm interested in most. I've also read a bit about the Gempei war, Japan during WW2 under Hirohito and modern Japan, but not that much. I've also seen some Akira Kurosawa movies playing during that age, i.e. Kagemusha, Seven Samurai, Hidden Fortress, Yojimbo, Sanjuro and Throne of Blood. I've also seen the first half of Last Samurai, but I never got to watch in fully. I've seen a few Yakuza-themed movies as well, but I don't know how accurate they are. I don't know that much about present-day Japanese culture, I've never been there, I've watched one or two documentaries at some time, and I've read a bit, but not much. I'm more of a historican, really. 32 slots, that's rather much, I think. Sounds like you've got a lot of work ahead. I'm really excited about the game, and I hope I'll manage to get into it. The characters sure do look good.
  16. Sounds fun. I'll be trying to get a spot in this game (by all means necessary, that is ). I've been waiting to play another mafia game, and now that my exams are all but over, I'll have plenty of time. That's your fault, Tammo
  17. *minor nitpick* But he saw him 8 seconds before he grapped through the shield, but while his disguise was flicking. But I don't think that's anything worth having an argument about. Sorry, I didn't read that. But the whole thing with the bounty hunters just to make Anakin feel let down? Sounds a bit contrived, if you ask me. While Bane's disguise indeed is irrelevant, the number of guards is an inconsistency, as Palpatine complained about this before. And, if Palpatine was more effectively protected, say, by the number of guards he was told to have, the kidnapping would have failed. While the background story was okay, it felt a bit like the "You know what would be awesome? A group of badass mercs kidnapping Palpatine. Let's do it!" kind of episode. But they managed to include some scenes which would fit into the context, like Anakin's dark moments, which definitely improved the overall episode.
  18. Didn't Obi-Wan recognize the bounty hunter sabotating the shield only thanks to the flickering? Anyway, I watched the episode today, I must say, I'm not impressed. We still haven't been told what exactly Dooku's and Palpatine's reason for the whole plan have been, was it meant to lead into a situation like in the beginning of RoTS or was it meant to simply drive Anakin further to the dark side? I don't quite get it. Also, why would Cad Bane disguise as a Neimodian? Certainly the Republic would have closely watched any Neimodian. And why were the Magna droids so weak (losing their head didn't kill them back then)? They weren't nearly as strong as in RoTS, while Dooku was far weaker than in AotC (which might be because Anakin grew stronger, though, because of the dark side). And if there had been so many guards at the celebration, why did we only see half a dozen Senate Guards, two Clone Troopers and the Jedi? But if we forget about the plot holes and the fridge logic, which seems to be a necessity for this arc, it was okay. Some action, bounty hunters, and Palpatine driving Anakin against the Jedi Counsil.
  19. I tried to withstand the temptation, but I succumbed yesterday. Anyway, it was really good.
  20. I definitely like it! The handle certainly looks very preeminent, and the tip also looks far better than I expected. I guess, number one was a good choice afterall. Very stylish umbrella!
  21. Yeah, the episode was rather good. I liked the fact that Eval designed the box as simulator for difficult situation and therefore being training instead of a senceless way of making the applicants kill each other to see who's the best. They also kind of explained why Anakin wasn't told about Obi-Wan being alive, I must say, I'm not convinced, but it's as good an explanation as I'm ever going to hear, and the Jedi not trusting Anakin's patience makes sence. And with Dooku's possible suspicion of Obi-Wan they have the prospect of an interesting plot in the next episode, together with the real assassination. I also like the fact that they depicted Can Bane a bit more positive (while still staying in character). Overall, a good episode, can hardly wait for the finale.
  22. I absolutely second this, it's a hell of a day. This game is awesome!
  23. I've recently finished "The Prince" by Machiavelli, definitely an interesting book to read. Also I've just finished "Mort" after reading "Equal Rites" before, now I'm about to begin with "Wyrd Sisters". Can't stop reading Discworld novels.
  24. Well, I got that, but frankly, it's not like any bad guy of importance actually watched his reaction to his death, and they could tell him right after, and honestly, even I could act well enough to fake some kind of reaction to the death of a friend. And even if he can't act and even if the Seperatists were closely watching his reaction to the death of Obi-Wan, it's still not like there would be an unique reaction everyone could predict which Anakin would never be able to fake, as not even the Jedi counsil was able to presage his anger, so every possible watcher couldn't if he was acting badly or simply being a apathetic person. But I'm just being nitpicky here, since the overall episode really wasn't that bad.
  25. I like the arc so far, I hope it stays as good as it is. That Box episode sounds interesting, but the plot seems pretty predictable to me. But I like that they make episodes with more dark Anakin and less Jedi heroism and involving a criminal setting. But does anyone have any idea why the Jedi didn't tell Anakin about the plan? I mean, it's not like he was involved at all or like he couldn't keep a secret, so I don't see any risk in telling him. Sounds like completely unnecessary secretiveness to me.
