I made this Ultralisk as a Christmas present for my brother, who's an avid StarCraft fan. He loves playing Zerg, and a year ago he jokingly asked me to build him a huge Ultralisk out of Lego. It may not be huge, but he had totally forgotten he had asked me for that anyway. Team color is lime green. I chose that because green is my brother's favourite color, and I thought the lime green popped well with the brown (besides, I seemed to have a decent amount of lime green in useful pieces for this). Darkdragon's For Sale/Trade Thread

Oh oh, me me! I'd like the following figs: Mouse with number 8 on torso (pic 1) Hippos with necklace (pic 3) Elephant with rain hat and the piggy next to it, + racoon (pic 4) Albatross, parrot and Copmike ( )... oh what the heck, the poodle and walrus too from same pic I might have some S10 and S11 figs to spare... which ones do you want? I'll have to check how many I have of them... Need moar fabufigs to populate my Fabuland village -
Here's mine: Although it's very leaky, so without water is probably better for actually hanging on the tree Pic without water There's also a video! Look at it snow!

It's actually the board position where Anand gave up. I first wanted them to be extend their arms to shake hands across the board, but because the board is a bit disproportionally large, they would have needed way too long arms Well, I don't know about the rest of Europe, but seeing as Magnus Carlsen is Norwegian, and that it's the first time ever we have a Norwegian chess player who's doing so well (he's the current 1st ranked in the world), he's kind of a big deal here. So, most people don't care about chess, but they care about Magnus, and I think this is the first time they're showing chess live on TV...
-
The player on the right is Magnus yes, and he's not wearing glasses, I tried to portray the deep dark frown he has when he's thinking hard Thanks . It's actually my first time attempting miniland scale figures (and clearly I was too lazy to give them legs and chairs )

I don't understand much about chess (I know the rules, but that's pretty much it ), but when the young Norwegian chess prodigy Magnus Carlsen is playing for the world champion title against Vishy Anand, I can't help it, I'm spending hours in front of my computer watching the matches, and understand nothing about why the chess computers are telling me one or the other has an advantage . But today Magnus took his second victory, playing with black, and I made a little celebratory MOC

Which witch? Rick (presumably) subtly points out how I messed up which is the correct spelling of witch . Can I blame auto-correct? I wish . I'll just blame being an overworked Norwegian typing too fast

I just thought they did since they did in Harriet Slutter.

Didn't you guys on the scum team know who each other was?

So you were the one calling me out for being quiet when I was struggling to find internet on that damn boat I think it's good that we were able to move on from the day 1 shenanigans without lynching any of the top suspects from that day . Maybe your new reputation should be that you always give up? . But in all seriousness. I don't think there was any way you could have fought yourself to get me lynched on that day. I started the lynch on Dan (who played Dan btw? ), I knew who the vig was killing and who the vig was before they did it (and the kill wasn't stopped!). I even suggested vig-killing Robert. I knew who the investigator was, yet Donald was killed instead. They would have had to be crazy to think I was scum over you. Speaking of, how did you manage to count the votes against you wrong on day 1? Seems like it would have been important enough to get that right It's minimalist! . Your 3 year old would probably overdo it Well, it almost worked. Eva was high an many people's suspect lists, and if the investigator thing hadn't happened, there's a high chance she would have been lynched. Although I was already having my eyes on Dan, there might not have been enough support to get him lynched.

We did all the right things . I thought they would be too scared to kill him. He was making himself too obvious a target, usually when someone does that, I think they are deliberately trying to do so, and thus there's a catch in trying to kill them...

I had John pegged as a quiet and not very helpful townie from early on, who was mostly just making a mess of what he said and didn't even defend himself properly when called out. Which is not the way I expect you to play, I figure you as someone who tries to be more active and will certainly clear up any misunderstandings about yourself. So I just would never have guessed you were John, that's all... But you still managed to avoid being lynched even with people accusing you left and right, so I guess you did something right We do tend to find each other . After a while, I was pretty sure you were Donald too That was really great. I was frustrated about it until you said you had already used your two shots . Sadly, they blocked the investigator that night, but we still lynched the right one . After Carl claimed blocker, the deal was sealed, thanks to your sacrifice and trust in me The way you were so insistent on not being protected, I almost started to think you might be a PGO or something I really was convinced there was a PGO in this game . But I did not guess there were two! That is actually a good point. I didn't think of that. You drew the blocker to you, leaving the rest of us free to do as we pleased . I didn't guess who you were until we were talking in private You never stopped suspecting Eva, I almost had to tie you up to leave her alone for a bit so we could focus on looking at the others Lucky for you he was town

I want to add something about playing anonymously. I was in the last anonymous game too, but got killed on night 1, so didn't really experience much of it then... First of all, as town, it's really really frustrating not to be able to gauge people's behaviour based on past behaviour. It's impossible to brush things of as "typical Bob" (sorry Bob ), or say "wow, he's usually more proactive, what's up?". So yeah, not being able to metagame is a pain . On day 1, everything is a complete mess, because it's impossible to remember any names or who said what. On top of that, this time around, I happened to be on a boat on a work seminar for most of day 1, meaning I had lousy access to internet... There was wifi with slooow internet in the conference area, but when there I was naturally busy and only had time to skim the threads. When I had time off, there was no wifi! And no phone reception either... But luckily, I discovered there was a very weak signal to an open wifi network in my room, if I held my laptop up high . So I lay down with my feet up, balancing my laptop on my knees, trying to compose posts... Even lost a couple of long posts twice due to losing the wifi signal. And the satellite link was so slow, it was really unbearable to go back and forth in thread. Oh, and on top of that, using a browser I'm not familiar with to keep the accounts separate made it that much harder... Anyway, I digress. On day 2 I tried to catch up a bit. But on day 2 I was seriously frustrated. The accused weren't defending themselves, people were hardly talking, I was having a hard time getting a read on anyone, nobody was stepping up to act as a "leader". The vets seemed to try to hide their identity by not being themselves. I was banging my head on my desk in agony. But luckily I started talking to Anne after she came off as the most pro-townie in thread. Now here comes a good thing about the anonymous accounts: because I had no idea who anyone was, I was forced to read everyone on equal footing. New and veteran players alike. In a game where I know where people are, I may have someone I like talking to more than others, and I often find myself looking more specifically at their behaviour hoping they'll be a good ally, and ignoring others. This may be a flaw in my playing style that I should improve on, but this way of playing has taught me that! So, what I wonder is, how do people approach the anonymous account thing? Because I felt like none of the "veteran" players were playing their regular game. I always try to play the best I can, anonymous or not. This game, I felt like I could be more bold because I had no cloud of "this is how she usually plays" hanging over me. I could just go out and do what felt right. And being the protector, I needed to get in contact with people so I knew who to protect. And that's what I did! I worked hard to try and find people that needed protection, and that actually led me to become some sort of town coordinator. But at the same time as it feels good to hide oneself, it's also extremely frustrating to not know who others are. And toward the end, I was terrified that one of the veteran players was posing as being less experienced and was playing us all like fools... So do I like it or not? I'm not sure ... It has good sides and bad sides... It feels like it's an advantage to the scum team, really. And in the beginning, I actually thought the scum team was steamrolling us by hiding behind their identities. I imagine they must have felt pretty frustrated when we took out two in one blow About the balance of the game. Like I said, the hidden identities felt like a power to the scum team at first, but in the end, I'm not sure it was all that much. And to those of you who feel like town was overpowered, we really weren't. We were on our toes the entire time. The investigator only "confirmed" two people, and we kept suspecting them of being a godfather! (you blocked him the third time, so he failed to get a scum read on Carl). The blocker was two-shot, both of which you blocked... The vig was one-shot, and only used it on night 3 and was never 100% confirmed until then even though I trusted them. And the vig would probably have killed Eva if I hadn't calmed them down . The PGOs never came into use. I never protected the kill target... So all in all, only 3 actions in total were ever effective, and only 1 was an action that really confirmed anyone 100% (the vig killing of a scum), the two investigation results always had uncertainty hanging over them, and I didn't trust Ellsworth fully either until Dan and Robert turned up scum (making it unlikely that both Ellsworth and either John or Eva was scum, which would have been the only logical way for Ellsworth to be a scum claiming investigator claiming to have cleared those two...). Most of the town block was entirely based on behavioural trust. Wow, I ramble on, don't I?

I know it's not easy, but I was just surprised that none of the scum tried... Well, I guess I was just paranoid since I was afraid that someone had infiltrated us, and then when we just seemingly mopped you all up suddenly, I couldn't believe it was that easy, and feared there was something completely off . Yes, please stop it!!! So annoying... You were John?! Wow, I would have expected you to kind of... I dunno... play harder? We thought you were really confusing, even when you weren't speaking in a fake german accent, you were speaking weirdly . We suspected you to the bitter end . I thought if there was a godfather hiding in the town results, it was you! And Anne suspected you the entire game, she even almost killed you on night 2!

Oh, and one more thing. Nobody actually ever confirmed me. They all trusted me with their actions based on my behaviour alone...

Alright, time to shed the mask. Hi, I'm Jo. And to clear up a bit how the town block came together so fast. I contacted Anne on day 2, because she seemed very pro town to me. She then panicked and freaked out on night 2, afraid she she might die and claimed vig to me and said she wanted to kill Eva. I then proceeded to comfort her, telling her I was the protector and that I was protecting her. I trusted her from then on. Then when John and Eva came out claiming to have been investigated town, I contacted John and said I could get the investigator protection, and that he should let the investigator choose what to do with that information, investigate me or whatever. He chose to just come out and contact me, and it didn't take long until it was established that I was in fact the protector. Then when Donald claimed the multi block, I contacted him and and was a bit "wtf, you just sold yourself to the scum". And then eventually, he told me he was the 2-shot blocker, which then led us to know Carl's claim of blocker was false. And to the scum team: you just didn't play very well . You were all very unactive in thread and generally dropping scum tells. You did not even try to infiltrate the town block. Of course it ended up being easy for us then!

19. CraneVan by RazvyClujRo (2 votes) - this one reminded me of a tiny toy crane I had as a child, it was almost like seeing my old toy! 54. Neko No Basu by Jamesn (2 votes) - Instantly recognizable, and a good fit for the mini camper format. 56. TMNT Party Wagon by midi (2 votes) - I was a huge TMNT fan back in the day, and even though this one looks more like the modern TMNT van, it is really well done and my favourite of the two TMNT vans entered in this contest. 114. Transformer Camper by Darkblane (2 votes) - There were many transformable vans in this contest, but to me this was THE transformer camper van. The non-transformed van looks spot on to the original, and yet it transforms so neatly! 160. Friendly Butterfly Camper by Kristel (1 vote) - This one made me laugh, and think about those hippies and their flower power . And the wing shaping is really good.

Thanks Yeah, a lot of people go "look, it's a hobbit hole!" But I actually never thought about the hobbit holes when I had the idea for it initially, but I quickly realized there was a striking resemblance Thanks DD . And yes, it is swooshable! Well, sort of http://www.flickr.co...157635497354496

After making a couple of Fabuland layouts together with Quarryman, I've now made my own layout that I displayed at the LEGO Fan Weekend in Skærbæk, Denmark last weekend. Fabuland village by cecilihf, on Flickr Here is Maurice Mouse's hillside house, with Villa Revenant on top of the hill. Fabuland village - LFW 2013 by cecilihf, on Flickr The Croc brothers have moved their little hut from besides the river and up to the lake on the hill. Fabuland village - LFW 2013 by cecilihf, on Flickr The tea house has found a spot on the other side of the lake. The plane is Quarryman's. Fabuland village - LFW 2013 by cecilihf, on Flickr The Fabulanders are also intending to invade space now, and have built themselves a rocket to get there. This was actually built for SHIPtember. Ah, what the heck, I'll sign up. I figured I needed a little break after last game's hecticness, but screw that 1. What Mafia experience have you had? Some . Wait, am I a veteran player now? Oh dear ... 2. What was your favorite Mafia role that you played and why? Being the blocker (well, technically jailkeeper) in Heartlake and blocking the scum killer on the first night was pretty cool. But I think maybe the most fun I've had was playing Eregor in Steampunk mafia 3. What was the moment in your EB Mafia experience that surprised you the most. Getting killed by the SK posing as vig at the end of Mafia After Dark... Seriously didn't see that coming. And then proceeding to watch mostlytechnic win it for us even though I was sure we'd lost...

Mafia After Dark - Conclusion: City of Gods
Cecilie replied to Tamamono's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Hah, so my attempt at a meatshield worked as a reverse meatshield, awesome . And for the record, I hated lying to you too . I hate being scum for that very reason, I don't like lying, even though I'm fairly good at it . Once I was contacted by you, I was both super happy to have a chance to gain inside information for my team, and super nervous about how I would handle lying to your face. And I was constantly on my toes, thinking you were on to me! It was very stressful. And I was terrified to take too long to respond to your PMs, thinking I would get accused of consulting with my scum buddies . -
Mafia After Dark - Conclusion: City of Gods
Cecilie replied to Tamamono's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Sadly, we did not have a role cop. We were going back and forth about the possibility of you being an SK or not. You really did a good job hiding your kills as typical vig kills, and once town trusted you, it was hard for us to touch you in anyway. Had you won this, it would have been well deserved.
