  1. Thansk for sharing the video! I like the way the blade moves! Would be nice to see the pneumatic hoses in its belly!
  2. here's a bit more on the campain (Pic links to the German site, Link via translate.Google) and even a Facebook page (in German)
  3. Thanks for the hint, good old TOR, forgot about that one :-) Need to give it a try tomorrow!
  4. Looks like somebody else was not satisfied... GEMA homepage was hacked...
  5. Must be this one: but as figures it was them or does the guy driving this machine count :-)
  6. Rule #1: Everything in the basement is mine. Rule #2: Everything in my son's room is his. Rule #3: Everything what gets into the basement becomes mine. Basement Rule #1: Do not build with parts from the top drawers (well at least I say so, however sometimes I find those parts in his MOCs ) Basement Rule #2: Do not go behind the (construction) table Basement Rule #3: Keep your friends to adhere to the all the rules all the time. This works pretty well most of the times. I am amazed how my 7 y.o. son knows the location of very much of my parts, i.e. bulk slopes and plates for terrain, colors etc. Sometimes I ask him where a part is and he tell me. He may even play with the train, however if there are friends with him, I try to stay close (at least with an open ear) as it might get out of hand... you know, train derailments, crash and so on... Solution is to give them some interesting things the can play with even rough like the racers track
  7. Stu***d... GEMA... does not play for users located in Germany... why can't they find a proper agreement. I have tried hiding my megablocks and other proxies that supposedly support YT, but no success, other ideas? Apart from removing the soudtrack...
  8. Epic! This is great! superb playability in a small package! At first I was wondering, snow?!?! But then I saw NZ :-) I guess for deeper snow movement, the snow should be a bit "wet", not powderey as the area where it has contact is quite small and it would sink to deep I guess!
  9. Sorry for bumping this thread, but I think this mentioning deserves it: OObjects 12 Mobile Bridge Launchers Mahjqa's MOC was featured on this list as the only model amoung the other real-life military bridge launchers. Mods, if you consider the bump not ok, feel free to remove the post our spin it of into another thread.
  10. Yes, I am! I like them very much. I am building one myself. However I seem only to build when there is snow actually as I want it to drive in the snow. Which effectively put me in the third winter season of building :-). However now I am satisfied with the drivetrain and it can handle the snow properly. Regarding the dimensions I use the Kässbohrer website Oh yes, Lego spending .... I can see the stack of PF connectors in your pictures, amazing :-) In my tiller I did I put 2 function to the back, lifting the yellow side "protectors"/smoothening thing and driving the shaft to hack the snow. I am using the 1 x 4 Gear Rack in Yellow to get a nice pattern in the snow, it#s working great. Disadvantage is a bit fat tiller. Two years back a got basically all BL had (8 pcs). Just checked and there are new ones available .... at, ups... 1,45 EUR!!!
  11. Wow! This is gigantic! ...and this is a beauty! I love it. The pictures are wonderful. The only thing of improvement I would suggest is the height of the cabin. In the Kässbohrer documents it looks taller. Around three to five studs I think. Blade construction, nice and I like the degrees of movements as you described them, raise/lower, tilt and turn! May be a completely black blade woudl further perfect the look! How far up and down you can move it? Carriage: Best I have seen so far! Most close to the real thing, Rubber tires! Even the "slaggy" threads are very close to the real thing. How good do the treads stay in place when moving around/especially turning? I can imagine that the tread itself is very sturdy. The location of the tiller attachment is also very close to the real thing. The most difficult thing to realized properly. The original has somehydraulic transmission to the drive wheels that makes it hard to realize it in Lego. The tradeoff is of course a wider "wheelbase" to accomodate drive etc. Tiller: This does not convince me fully. It serves the purpose for the model, but I think more functionality could be added, i.e. drive the snow-chopping thing... Interior: Beautiful! Seats 10 of 10, the headrest is my favorite. even the drives console is built in! A hint for trying it outside: Close up the underside as much as possible to avoid snow coming into the chassis. The "shovel-effect" will take a lot of power from it! closing word, again Wonderful! A favourite MOC!
  12. this is the question of the question... Buying used can get you everything from nearly "new" down to parts being dirty and coverd in bitemarks respectively having no corners anymore... So you will need a seller you can trust or ones that add some further decription. I had parts I bought for NEW (Transparent quartes panels and 6x6 dishes) that were really in bad condition, i.e. lots of scatches etc. However I had used parts that were great. So for me: Expensive transparent big items: Check before the purchase, may be even request pics. If you build castles you might even want some "weathered" bricks not to get an all too smooth wall. fW
  13. see my post above, I was at the store in the morning, no chance... if you find a way to convice them to sell it to you let me know!
  14. Good luck, unless you stay till August! Since LEGO pulled it off the shelf again unfortunately you need veeeryyy much charme to convince them to sell you one. I tried all my charme this morning, but in vain. She would not let me have one, even they still have them behind the counter, but the sets are due to be returned. Price is 189,99 EUR according to the catalogue. I guess on the one hand side it is the faulty part as reported on technicbricks and another issue might be the box which says 2 PF-M although there is only one inside! So the box might get potentially a collectors item :-) Curious if they change the box as well. fW
  15. now you made us curios, but Looking forward to it
  16. DLuders reply puzzled me as well a bit as the model looked perfectly "Countach" and the robot in the post is a Murcielago (hope I typed it right)
  17. The little pool is gorgeous! even with a board!
  18. Next challenge, make it possible to tilt to both sides!
  19. Very nice, I like the design of the bonnet! Represents the lines of the original very nicely. A lot to learn from!
  20. Unreal! This is so fantastic! This picture looks like taken from a Sales Brochure of the real thing! Thansk for adding this!
  21. In the German/Austrian catalogue the Unimog is on the front page and inside it is the centerfold . It has got two pages of attention in there! I don't have it with me right now so I can't post the reference number. fW
  22. Adding PF to the current monorail is a swift thing, what you need is: PF to old-9V-System IR-Reciever Battery pack or Rechargable Here's a link to a Brickhelf Folder showing such a monorail. I got my train base just a few days ago, so I did a rudementary PF Monorail with the PF-Speedcontrol, just works great!
  23. What I like i that MasaoHidaka share the whole development process on his Brickshelf folder He's a the 9th version already and added in this version curved rails that are even more innovative that the ones in the video. His development looks like he's by heart at fight with TLG as the longer it gets his cusoo wish gets fulfille dhte better his system gets! fW
  24. Regarding the old grey I do not have that much sentiments. It is nice for a weathered design, that's what I use it for. The color I miss most is the old dark red, it was really a intense color. In 2005 the change came. Now it is nearly reddish brown, not easy to distinguish under artificial light...
  25. I completely second this! I just bought my first train base two days ago! EOL for the machine? How long did they produce the MR? Was not too long IMHO to make such a machine go to EOL, and there is always a happy supplier to make another one for you. Same for the mould, it's digital copy should still be around The XL would be too big in my opinion, the M is a better choice, it let's you build the traditional 4-wide, but also a 6-wide one. The MRs would not be too heavy to pull. Alternatively you can leave the choice to the user/builder by supplying a proper motor-base, i.e. a base that has a small gear (to run on the track) with a standard axle so you can decide by yourself how to drive it. AND PF has the IR receiver! Remote control your MR. There are MOCs around which incorporate the mindstorms to control the MR (I think they use the HiTechnic IR interface) Great possibilities! - More ramp flexibility: - 1/8 Circle: (a they are today, the part has an insane price tag...) MR at that time was designed to fit to the grid (connection point for the supports) If you make too many curves, smaller angles etc. it would be difficult do design connection points that easily fit the grid.
