Idea is great. But what if a long train needs to be repaired. The workers have to work outside. That's not a problem on a sunny day, but if it rains............

BrickForge new colours and items galore
BillytheKid replied to LuxorV's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Cool stuff. Time to make an order soon again . -
Your idea is good, the model chosen for your moc..... a challenge. Only this moc, I don't know what I should think of it. It looks a bit cheap and simple............ It needs more work and building to impress, I guess.

Can 12v trains be used in the United States?
BillytheKid replied to gary_sabol's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I guess there are things, which can convert 110v to 220v un USA. Ask an electricity shop, maybe they can give you an answer. I hope I didn't wake up people to start collecting 12v now? If demand rises, the prices will go sky high. Realize that, when starting collecting 12v. If you are a bit handy, you can add 12v things to your excisting 9v system. You only need switches for the signals and crossovers from 12v. The switch in track can made for 9v. You people are working on the clock here . Too bad I've little time right now, cause of my work and private daily stuff. This is my second week work, after 3 week holiday. I haven't even time to enjoy my lego after my holiday . With what I'm so busy with ? I hadn't even any time left to watch the second movie of the instructions of this new software. Sorry I didn't started to make this de-coupler 7862 yet. I love those 12v switches , I can't wait to make a layout with this fabulous software. Whom I can give a hug for making these switches anyway?

WOW That's all I can say at this moment...........

Good moccing . Building it upside down. I saw this idea a long time ago and still thinking what I would build. A wagon is a good idea.

Puzzle with this piece: Bottom a 4 stud wide and then use a lot of the piece shown above. Puzzle a little bit and you have a 7 stud wide wagon.

How come you love the 2150 and did not mentioned the 4554? The 4555 is a cargo station: The 4554 is the yellow version of 2150, which I love: A second place is for 7822:

Thx for the help. Working on it, with watching the youtube. I like it already .

Tell some more about yourself. What theme you like, which I guess trains. If do, what kind you like most. Like 12v (like me), 9v or RC. Or are you a moccer or collector. How come you get into lego. Not that we're curious, just wanna know everything .

That's funny. Looks fantastic, exspecially in the way you've done it. Looks scary. That brings me at my death train 7725. I build this one, because a total black version is boring. So I thought, it's a train full of death and scary monsters that can bring death. I let the pic's big now. Take a look inside the train:

Count here the signs I have: Click on pic to get a bigger one I have 17 ones in my layout. 14 of them are working. With 12v it's not necessary to design one. I wish I could design mu own signals, but the 12v ones are looking very real already. Some signals are just standing that I look at the backside of the lights. Very annoying If you look, when parking a train at that place. I made these (see pic below) just to let it look for real, but more practical for me controlling the trains. Click on pic to get a bigger one And what to do when 4 tracks are next to eachother: Click on pic to get a bigger one Click on pic to get a bigger one And this is also more pratical design: Click on pic to get a bigger one It's not the best design ever, I know. It's more pratical and trying to look as real and original as possible.

I've found 2 sets 7862 in mine collection, which can disconnect wagons form the train. Not that I didn't know I had them, but yesterday I picked them of my box of 12v track. Surprisely I found even pieces for a third one, but I know that one isn't complete. Nevertheless, I decided to connect them in my layout. Actually the idea is 'wunderbar', but in real life it stinks. I dunno why this set is soo expensive.........., beats me. If the prices still going up, I sell mine . But for a diehard 12v fan, it's something to show off. Only when you have to demonstrate it, then you loose your face. Don't buy this set if you have big plans to disconnecting your wagons form trains. Only reason should be, a nice wannahave. Here a pic, to find those two 7862: Click on pic to get a bigger one And here the controlpanel. It's now more complete: Click on pic to get a bigger one It was like this: Click on pic to get a bigger one Most panels are connected now. I guess I used now 250 meter of elec wire now. And still it ain't enough to connect them all.

Wow. That looks good.

And is those XML file necessary? And I miss decoupling set 7862. I'm learning how the use this program, so I don't know yet how to make gif-pic's .

Replacements are better then original ones. And originals ones are dried out after one year of use, garantied. I don't care if those original ones are dried out, I replace them nevertheless .
-
Yes, that's a sticker and hard to get of you bought one without it . A red 7760 is easily to made, als a green one . Maybe I build this 7720 in blue one day .
-
I dunno if it's the same guy, but these are even better then original ones. I use them for 5 years, while original ones are worn off after 2 years. Replacemants 12v rims in dutch ebay.

This a good point. Never thought about this.
