  1. That's the one item that I'm still waiting for from MRF. I get the feeling that they were the last item to be sent out from the wholesalers. I don't think Digger has reviewed that set yet so that tells me that the HK store owners haven't received them.... which probably leads me to believe that the AE sellers haven't either.
  2. The starlet hair is so close to her Avengers 1 hair it's ridiculous it was never used. I still intend to pick one up and dye it red to use with my Christo custom.
  3. I'm glad that the orders from this seller are turning up for people. I genuinely think that the vast majority of sellers on AE are genuine and sometimes list things early to attract buyers but are then at the mercy of the wholesale warehouses shipping them out to them.
  4. I think I'm going to be making an order from AE to pick up the new Decool wave and their Groot figure. As long as it doesn't become a monster order I'm happy to include some extra items for those that don't use AE and ship to them. I'm in the UK and it'll probably be around £4 for shipping to Europe but just PM me if it's something you're interested in.
  5. Yep... It's an old trick usually set up on larger sets to make as much money on as few sets as possible. Someone has paid in full for that set and know nothing about it. Not to scaremonger... But if the person with the stolen card tracks the sales to Walmart and they have s record that a sale was sent to you then it's at the discretion of the seller whether you keep the Lego set. If not then you may still be able to claim back from PayPal.
  6. I'm interested how that looks and what the brick quality is like. Also the figure quality as that Joker is the one from the Arkham set isn't it?
  7. You fool! You'd have been swimming in bootlegs by now if you'd have trusted old Tom Zhou!!
  8. I find it amazing that people actually expected something mini figure scale. Really?! And with models like this the minifigures are not the reason for purchase... maybe a bonus to the set... a sweetener perhaps but not the reason for buying... so what if Coulson isn't in it? Is that such a deal breaker in a £300 set? This set doesn't succeed or fail because of the minifigures included. When the designer was tasked with putting this together he probably wasn't even asked about minifigures to include. With regards to Ideas... that set was NEVER going to be made. Ever. It was too big... it would have dwarfed every other set Lego has ever made in piece count and size. It would have been somewhere around £2000 if it ever hit the shelves.. and that's a conservative estimate. So what if Coulson had only been in a set that was £2000/$3000... people would be whinging all day long... the prices of the Coulson figure hitting more than an SDCC figure on the aftermarket. I'll revert back to my stance that I think most sets that relate to existing themes are doomed... if not all. Yes they serve a purpose in showing that there is interest in the possibility of a set like that... or even in the extension of a theme in the case of Minas Tirith, but every single one of them is huge and has 15-20 minifigs... and you wonder why it gets votes? This is a good set... and they've tried something new with it. Some people will like it and others won't... but I'm just not sure that the success of it can be judged by the minifigures included.
  9. That's not a good experience is it? Thankfully I've never had a bad experience with AE even if a seller seems to be taking a little while to send something. I've only ever been burned once on eBay many MANY years ago... long before Paypal was in place. On another note... The Expendables set is OK... The facial printing throughout is a little iffy for me... and the torso design is quite generic and overly busy. I'm tempted to keep the female figure for making a custom somewhere along the way but I'll probably list the rest of them for £1 a go on eBay. The accessories were nice though... really good quality hand pistols and the usual good quality moulded rifles etc on a frame to pop out. Either way after selling the figures for £1 each and keeping one of them I'd still be in profit!
  10. MRF Trade. I think the tracking only kicked in around a week ago. Says it was collected on 23rd and here it is 1 week later!
  11. Well my package with the SY sets just arrived and I'm delighted. Only slight issue is very minor misalignment of the black on Daredevil's head but I can live with that as I'll probably replace it with the one from the Decool set. Switched Antman's head with Loki's and all is good in the world. Sod Loki. Galactus is superb as it comic Hawkeye. Cyborg from LB2 is excellent and once I've sprayed the headpiece I'll be really happy with him. Beast is excellent and I think the print on Green Arrow and Phoenix are now superb. I actually much prefer the brown straps on Green Arrow over the plain black on the SDCC version. Phoenix has the double sided Decool head and original Lego red hair on her so the orange hair is going on the old Decool body for sale. Yellow Lantern Deadpool is quite fun so I think I'll keep him too. Wolverine's headpiece is MASSIVE... and that face print is offensive. I also didn't realise that they'd put the BLO arms on him rather than flesh... either way they'll go with the Decool ones on eBay anyway. Red Robin is good but missing some of the detail from the original Christo but the cape quality on that was actually close to Lego quality so I'll keep the new cape and use an older custom version on this when I sell it. All the other figures are pretty good too if you don't have originals and the only slight misprint was on Daredevil's head. Shame that they just can't get Superman's hair mould right... Lance Plastic Man looks a bit iffy. Just need to open the Expendables set when I get a minute.
  12. I picked up a set of these on AliExpress and shipped to the UK. The print on the torso and legs looks like a copy of the camo print from Citizen Brick. The head print were pretty iffy for me and one of the hats just didn't fit at all and kept bouncing off the head. I found that the figures with backpacks couldn't have the tactical belt on the correct way ad the backpack hits the ammo pouch on the back. All in all I think I paid about $1 or 65p each so for that they're not too bad. If you want a really god military set that's also cheap pick up the Disen set. Excellent printing on the heads although they're flesh (which I prefer). The equipment was excellent and some new things I'd not seen like pistols with light/torch attachments and holsters with a slight gap in them allowing the light section to fit snugly into it... really nicely done. They also have a small sheath connector on the opposite side to fit a knife in there. Gas masks and usual things with them are also really nicely done. Disen also has the body armour with the shoulder attachments... another nice feature. I tend not to keep the torso and legs of things like these though and just replace them with regular Lego police torsos etc as they sit under the armour anyway and they're very inexpensive to pick up.
  13. I quite like that Batman armour as an alternative Batsuit... not so much as a Iron Bat. I'd actually quite like that to make another variant Bats figure.
  14. Were they for sale somewhere? Taobao maybe? That Maria Hill torso is the only unique thing about the figure so if it's possible to pick them up that would be great.
  15. The Decool wave is interesting for only a couple of thing for me... Electro really... then being able to compare the head for DD with the SY one. I've got the Phoenix Customs Collector on the way but this head might be very close to the SDCC version so I may keep hold of that... and if they've got the Bane right then it'll be a decent placeholder until I decide to pick the original one up. I've never negotiated with a AE seller... Maybe I don't order enough quantities of any particular set for it to be worth it. If I can find a seller that's got both the Groot and the other Decool wave I might give it a go. Would you mind PM'ing me with the rate you managed to get?
  16. I don't think that's a bad price for the Decool set... Anywhere round the $9/£6 mark for a set is fine for me. Groot is also available: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Decool-2Pcs-Building-Blocks-Super-Heroes-MiniFigures-GUARDIANS-OF-THE-GALAXY-GROOT-TREE-MAN-Bricks-Figures/32277704729.html Just over $6/£4 for 2 of them. Might pick them up and move one on to one of our friends with an aversion to AE. How long until Fury and Hill from the Helicarrier set are released by our Eastern cousins?
  17. Well if anything there'll probably be another exclusive figure to keep the rumour mill and wishlist going...
  18. After watching the video and hearing the designer talk about it I think the set makes really good sense... and the choices they've made do too. They've done something a little different and introduced microscale elements to a big build. There must be a huge amount of framing inside that thing and the engine function is a nice touch... they've also allowed for it to be motor driven with power functions so that's nice too. They've given 2 exclusive figures although I agree that Barton and Romanov seem like odd choices to add but they have and that's it. I've more of a grumble over Nick Fury's design in that I don't think the coat design looks like the long jacket I pictured... I actually think My Christo custom does the job better with a fabric trench coat. Maria Hill is a nice figure although maybe we could look at a new face print but if WW's head works then fine then so be it.
  19. I ordered from Engtaobao through an agent. You just paste in the URL of the item from Taobao and then make the order. The shipping is bloody expensive though!! It was only worth it because I ordered several sets and got them before they hit eBay... then sold the remaining stuff to make my money back.
  20. I think this question pretty much sums up some people's reactions. When you start laying bets like that some people start asking who you've heard it from!
  21. Yeah... the printing on those really has to be a sign that we're getting an Antman micro/trophy figure.
  22. I think everyone had the image of the Ideas submission in their head... this huge beast... with hopes of 17 minifigures to populate it. To me, that was never going to happen. The build was always going to be much smaller and the minifig count was always going to be around the 5-6 mark. The set is everything we've had any kind of teaser about... it's the SSD for Marvel... although with the addition of printed microfigs. Maria Hill uses the Wonder Woman head but I wondered if the Cap A head is unique to this figure or can anyone recognise it from a previous release?
  23. Didn't someone mention 9am E.S.T.? Wouldn't that make it 2pm UK time? Well it looks like they've done both minifigures and microfigures. 5 minifigures it is then... But aren't 2 of those regular figures from the AOU sets? And Cap is just a replacement head and hair? Hill looks OK though... even if it is just a new torso print... I like the SHIELD logo on her right arm. I must say that Nick Fury doesn't look as good as I thought he would. The Coulson mob will riot tonight. For such a large and apparently expensive set it looks like it may be a pass for me... unless there's a pretty big reduction somewhere along the line.
  24. I've always been on the fence about whether to pick it up. It definitely won't be something I rush out to buy but might be something further down the line .
  25. You were looking at it much closer than I to spot the trophy figures on the deck... it certainly does looks like there's a few of them on there. Fair play to them for trying something a little different. It may not be what a lot of minifig collectors were looking for but as a set that could work as both a display and play set it might be just what Lego wanted to produce. I'm sure there'll be howls from those that will now post comparison picks of the original Ideas submission and this one.
