10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
Roebuck replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I was maybe risky, but when they do something like that and hit the bullseye they will earn a lot more money that giving us AFOLs a Castle set I agree, a lot of the sets they are making for adults now are so diverse and looks to be designed to hook in new adults. If they manage to get 10 new adult customers that buy e.g a football stadium or a typewriter as their first set and in the process looses 2 former AFOLs that collected e.g. Pirates or Castle, it is a big win. They actually managed to increase the AFOL customers from 10 to 20% now and I assume the kids are still getting the same amount at least of Lego. If the 90 year castle set sells a lot, maybe hook in some new AFOLs we will get more similar sets in the future. However if it do not, they will use their time and resources to make a e.g. new football stadium instead I just looked and that is correct- 2,976 replies

We have to agree to disagree on that one However it is still possible series 23 is the odd one out, need to know all the series next year before we know the answer

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

I think they have clear numbers of which pars sell the most anyway CS employees are hired because they can handle customers in a nice way not because they are Lego experts, so everything they say must be taken with a pinch of salt and nothing close to a official TLG statement. Maybe they got the preliminary massage that it would take 3 months or maybe it said 3 months when they checked the program they are using for ordering parts. Anyway it did not happen after 3 months or even 6 months so clearly the info was not correct or something altered the initial plan I hope this is not correct, but it could be Maybe when they finally add some 2022 parts it is only the basic boring ones Maybe it was not worth all the hassle of people calling in ordering parts, asking for parts, asking for old orders that took forever to ship so both the CS and the B&P was overloaded. What is still giving me hope is that "none-bestsellers parts" are still possible to buy, if they wanted to shut the old B&P down they could only sell the old PAB aka "bestseller parts" in the new PAB system. In addition they have started to offer BAM and factory minifigs online, a move that will give them more to do not less -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Roebuck replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The number of the series really has nothing to do with the year it is released. The first years we got 3-4 series a year and none of them matched, when the CMF numbers caught up to the actual year we got more licensed series and for some years only a normal series a year that match the number of the year. Maybe it was conscious decision or maybe it was random, anyway it is nothing that stopping them from doing more than one normal series a year again if that is the most financially wise move -

I think that was a rumor not a actual statement from Lego I sent a mail to CS last week asking for the farm animals in set 60346, they did not know, but noted that the animals were asked after a lot so was sending the request higher up in the system to highlight the demand for them. So I would recommend everyone to send a mail or make a call to CS asking for animals or other 2022 parts and when they are coming for sale on the Pick a brick site -

Maybe not to overload the shop so it brakes down The anniversary is 10th of August so maybe have it closer to that, but should have it on the day for that to make much sense- 2,976 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Roebuck replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Excellent news, however series 23 is more "regular" then regular Yes it think it would be back to normal with a new animal or two after the disappointing series 23 The ones linked directly to the sets normally come out before or at the same time as the set like the series 22 bard and series 23 "knight", however a fig or two that is a good companion fig is definitely possible A civilian Castle fig would be great, maybe a sheepherder or goatherder Good question, but i think we need to see the hole 2023 lineup to know if it is a permanent change. If the 2 last series next year is licensed, the only odd one out is series 23 I for one do not mind (other than my wallet) a change back to several normal series a year. I will probably stop buying costumed figs (there are so many of them and I really do not have any use for them) and just focus on figs with animals, Castle, Pirates and Western ones in addition to City figs that fit in nicely in the modular street So from series 23 I plan on only getting 1 of the "knight" instead of 10-12 of the figs if i still collected costumed ones -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours

Yes that is right, I forgot about them, but they definitely made the niffler and snitch (probably more also) in CMF so they could include them in sets (maybe we even got the sets first if I remember correctly) -

Is it still something to add with VIP points to your order as during the test earlier or is it a normal GWP?- 2,976 replies

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
Roebuck replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I am sure the only reason the 5 forestmen figs this year are identical is because of budget, they just ran out of budget (just look at the wizard in the set). Imagine they made the castle, but this time all the new prints introduced in the set was available to them from previous Castle sets. I am sure the set would look rather different at least the details. A lot of the minifigs would have more unique printed parts, more weapons would be added (so you do not need to rob the castle to arm the minifigs), some more animals would probably be included and likely some more bricks as well (could be used to expand the "marked" part maybe).. Pirate pack? Is it the one from the Ideas competition?- 2,976 replies

Lego City 2022 Rumours, Leaks, Information And Discussion
Roebuck replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Speaking only for myself, animals are the main reason I am still interested in City sets. Modular buildings brought me out of the dark age and scratch my itch for "City sets", so if not for the animals I would probably buy only 1 "City set" a year. With all the animals they have included in City sets especially the two last years I assume "people like me" become more interested in City sets and more involved in the discussion around them, however I understand this can become monotonous for other City fans that are more interested in other aspects of City sets -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Roebuck replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I do not mean sets that take advantage of parts existing in the CMF, that is of course what you would expect when the designers find a part they find useful in another theme. I mean when there is a more or less obvious collaboration between the CMF designers and another theme, e.g. either they make a fig that fit so well it could have been in the set and/or make new parts that are made so they can use it in the set to make it better -
I thought it could be used for Capercaillie instead

Latest impact of other themes on historic themes
Roebuck replied to Wardancer's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
If we get a normal wave of e.g. Castle sets aimed mostly at kids it would probably get around the same budget as e.g. City has, so a few new moulded parts. A similar set as the 90 year castle under the Icons theme would most likely only have a maximum of 1 new part (same as 10305). However in both cases they could make use of all the new printed parts in 10305 and make more different minifigs etc instead -
That was modest of you

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
Roebuck replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Yes that was really odd! It was sold out several months at the time so I find it hard to not believe it could have gotten a longer shelf life if they managed to keep it in stock and sell more sets However Lego have the numbers so maybe we are not such a big group of customers as we like to think 20% of the Lego buyers are AFOLs now, but maybe only 5% are interested in Pirates, Castle and Space sets from the 80ties and early 90ties. I guess we will see if we get more Pirates, Castle and Space sets in the next year or two- 2,976 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Roebuck replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
That is probably the best thing coming out of a Lego advent calendar ever However I think it is more the case of the AC takes advantage of parts already on the marked instead of it being CMF using its budget to make the AC better It is possible if Vidiyo came out around the same time as the CMF, but as you say the theme had a high budget so was probably not dependent on the CMF budget to make moulds for them -
My first choice is of course roe deer to be introduced with a Castle forestmen set Second is pigeon with the modular building (not very likely since the modulars do not have new moulds) Third is a crow with a CMF Forth is a red fox in a City farm set Fifth is a goat kid (I assume I get a adult as well in the bargain) in a Castle MMV/MVR type of set
