  1. Yeah, I have lots of time to fiddle with web pages but little time or space for building, hence the lack of pics. The site is more my way of planning what I want to build. I do have some buildings I will be adding but my physical town is a bookstore, garden shop, Cafe corner (with extra floor) and some vehicles. Sweet! *sweet* Maybe we can arrange for "visits" when I have a few more MOC's actually built? It might give me a goal to build towards.
  2. Mayor: George Brickley City name: Stackton Location: Small port at the mouth of the River Stack, gateway to Stackton Valley in the Central Brickland Hills Population: 200 Goverment: Democracy (technically, but just try voting for anyone NOT endorsed by Baron Stackton) Since: 2004 Website: STACT
  3. I voted no because there have been other reviews of BA weapons and no new information was provided. I did like the comics though. *sweet*
  4. Just in time for Christmas, Shrek the Halls! X-D Yep, here in N. America they just broadcast this holiday special featuring Shrek and all the gang. I $#1t you not. :-$
  5. Too bad. I was all excited that someone was doing the Revelstoke here in British Columbia, Canada. I didn't know there was one in America.
  6. Where do you get the idea that the two systems are "separate"? The IR trains run on plastic OR 9V track. All rolling stock is identical. The only practical difference is in the drive motor. You can buy all the new engines you want and run them on existing 9V track if you like. The only limit is that 9V motors will not work on plastic track so two separate loops of track might be useful at a big show.
  7. Very good quality. The cows are built with components that are a hair thinner than the LEGO horses/gryphons/etc but I would say all the components that I have ever bought (amour, weapons, animals, beards) are nearly LEGO-quality (and in some cases equal.) I was delighted with my order and will order more accessories as they introduce new elements or my farm expands. *sweet*
  8. His grenades are 4/$1 so I would bet the bipods will be reasonably priced.
  9. This is rather old but for those who missed it I wrote it up in a BrickWiki article back in May.
  10. These are really cool but they almost stop being minifigs. The proportions are more realistic for adult miniatures. Add in the "fleshie" bits and they seem like they are something else. Great for individual figs or small vignettes but I wonder how they would look in a MOC populated with regular-size minifigs? Of course changing the proportions of these figs also changes the scale for other objects which, given the over-sized nature of many accessories, could be a good thing. Hmmm, might be fun to play with.
  11. Actually the number represents a guestimate of how many complaints they have received not how many were actually sub-standard. It is likely that only a fraction of the people complained given that many people would not complain for a variety of reason (ie: assuming child damaged booklet). I would be very concerned if I was Bjarke. :-D
  12. I'm sorry but you have really gotten bad information. Let me try to summarize what I understand from Joe's comments on the subject over the last two years. From the very first issue many AFOLs have been begging for a print version. Some of us like "real" magazines that can be read on the bus or stored on a shelf to be referenced while we build. I may be "old-fashioned" but I never read .pdf magazines online, I print them (or at least the articles I am interested in.) Further, to attract a wider audience and expand the hobby requires a real magazine that could someday sit on newstands beside model railroad or other hobby magazines. There is no quest for profit other than to make the magazine viable including someday, maybe, a little renumeration for contributers and making it worthwhile for Joe (et al) to publish it. He is providing a service to AFOLs and that service has value just as products have value. Are you suggesting that BrickArms, BrickForge et al should sell their products at cost? On a personal note, as a Canadian I will be paying $50 for 4 issues. That is $12.50 per issue which, coincidentally is the sort of price one pays in Canada for ANY specialty magazine. I get an English soccer magazine called "When Saturday Comes" every month and I pay about $12 each time (plus tax) and I have to read it almost a month after it is published in the UK. If a real magazine is not worth it to you then get the .pdf version. If less than 3 Euros (at today's rate) is too much for a .pdf version then don't get it at all. But please don't make accusations or advocate theft because you have made a choice not to buy something.
  13. July wasn't early enough? See: North West Brick Convention - has a pirate theme!
  14. *sweet* Looking forward to some cool accessories. Any hints/previews? Any chance of a musket w/bayonet? :-)
  15. Thanks for the heads up at the event BTW. I scooped up several handfuls of those into my PaB bin on Friday night. Decking ON! It was nice talking with you at BrickCon and I look forward to seeing it completed next year? *sweet* The reactions from the public were amazement and delight as Titanic was basically the first thing they saw when they entered the exhibition. "Omicron Weekend" may have won Best in Show but Titanic is what people will be talking about until next year.
  16. What you are looking at here is a prototype mold which Will does himself to test out designs (hence the title of the picture: "Test Mold") . He brought several to show at NWBrickCon last weekend. His production molds are much bigger and contain several different weapons.
  17. I did take my video camera and took some footage but I have not had a chance to edit or upload yet. The display looked pretty good but sadly we were not complete. BTW Justin Major designed a version of his micro pirate ship as the commemorative kit and the 2 different t-shirt designs featured male and female pirates. I'll try to find some pics of those tomorrow. It was very pirate-y.
  18. Certainly he appears unfamiliar with the concept of "business". I contacted him back when he was offering the Little Armory for sale on eBay. His responses were not what you would expect from someone familiar with normal business practices. How do you expect to sell a business when you will not even make basic disclosures on assets, liabilities and annual turnover? Anyway, good luck with your venture.
  19. I found the use of parts well done by the designers. I made a car and then tried to make a house from a different instruction book. I could not as several pieces were already used in the car. Nice to see them using all the parts like that rather than having a lot of "extra" bits. Moral of the story: one instruction book at a time. *sweet*
  20. Not to go too far off-topic but, ARE YOU KIDDING?!!??!?!!! If you thought the Pirates of the Caribbean movies (which I infer from your avatar) were good you will LOVE the Indiana Jones movies (well maybe not so much Temple of Doom.) :'-)
  21. Thanks for the kind thought but sadly I am indeed questioning the wisdom of the project. I do want to say that I think resin casting has it's place and ImperialScouts does seem to be very good at it and I don't think resin products would be a rip-off as a custom accessory nor likely a huge money maker. So to be clear, I think ImperialScouts is doing this as a service for good motivations without any hope of making gobs of cash. I just don't think it's necessary until or unless we know shakos will NOT be produced in abs by BrickForge. I'm sorry if this is seen as being negative but, as resin casts can never be as good as what could be produced by Brick Forge, if this project could in any way interfere with that development then I must protest. Go ahead, make some shakos for yourself but will you be selling enough of them in bulk to make the potential BF product not financially viable? I am not a big advocate of monopolies but is the market really big enough for two vendors of LEGO-compatible Shakos? Maybe it is but I do not know the break-even number for BF molds. It probably does not help that reproduction of LEGO parts can lead to problems of fakes being sold as genuine in the re-sale market. Am I the only one who objects to forgery? A new and unique BF product cannot be passed-off as a LEGO product. Adding a "badge" or removing the plume or something that would make it "not-LEGO" but still compatible should be possible for a resin cast. So, to summarize, if ImperialScouts was producing a unique design AND there was sufficient interest from AFOLs to justify BF continuing their development and production I would have no objection whatsoever.
  22. Will they still consider this or has ImperialScouts torpedoed the whole project (RTV Mold thread)? I would much rather see quality ABS parts produced so I hope BF will still be able to justify the development and production of new shakos in the face of these silicon knock-offs.
  23. I'm confused. The rules do not mention any specific characters from the Wild, Wild West. Can we use just Artemis Gordon by himself or do we have to include James West as well? Now, I just have to figure out how to do his classic boot-knife... >:-) Hey, You are the one who called it The Wild, Wild West Contest!
  24. I don't usually do cutting but that looks fantastic and I too have a a lot of those hairpieces... just might have to try one. X-D
  25. Will at Brickarms is a great guy (met him a couple of times) and his products are top notch. You will NOT be disappointed. *sweet*
