In he US the bike is called an ATV for All Terrain Vehicle. Four wheeled versions are called Quads. Brickset lists the US prices for sets, I believe it's $39.99 over here. Good review BTW, I like the old set photos. Anyone notice their hideout has a mailbox? Those robbers better watch out, that's the kind of detail that took down Bin Ladden.

That looks great. I like the 1x2 grille pieces for the stairs. Many excellent details.

I am retiring from the discussion as I feel both sides have presented their case. We're all smart enough to make up our own minds from the evidence presented. I would ask that everyone else let the discussion return to the merits of the set itself. Back on track, I'm interested to see how the release mechanism for the attic ladder looks from the outside.

They're in almost every space battle, mounted in the fighters.

Looks great. You should fill it with 1x1 rounbd plates.

What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars minifigures?

The fact that he dies in Phantom Menace automatically makes him lame. Plus the fig makes him look like he's earing a hat. -
This is more or less my point.

Combination of roof pieces: Black Falcon's Castle, 2002 Inverted 1x2 slopes with a gap: Blacksmith's shop, 2002 Heck, I've used that hinge piece as ornamentation before and I know I've never seen that MOC.

There is a differnce between the fell of "some inspiration" and the feel of "Stolen", "Copied", or "Ripped Off". I still believe that the similarities have been arrived at coincidentally, rather than purposefully. You'd have to be pretty stupid to rip-off a first page result on Brickshelf, and the designer doesn't sound stupid.
-
While excellent I see a much higher parts count, especially when you factor in an interior. So I'm sure the set could have differed more if it were priced at $300 instead of $200. The designer said he was going for a symmetrical Psycho-style house.

I guess Lego has no choice but to give us square unadorned buildings. Does a column in the corner look better than plain bricks? Sure Does it matter? No, because some guy did it first seven years ago. Would having the columns connecting directly to porch roof look worse than using the inverted slopes as ornamentation? Yes. Can you think of a better pieces to use that look better and allow for two stud separation at the front and three stud separation on the sides? Cafe Corner used the 1x2 upside down slopes, spearated by 1 stud, as ornamentation below the roofline. Are you calling Jamie Berrard a rip off artist as well? Where is his witch hunt?

This illustrates what is going on. I see as many similarities between the two physical houses as I see between the two lego houses; everything else I see as detail differences. That's why some people see it as a ripoff and others do not.
-
Basically the same structure with a lot of detail differences. Everything else aside, I can't believe the color choice is even up for debate. Lets say the designer saw the MOC and changed more details and the color, whould anyone here REALLY be happier with a bley house, or worse a tan haunted house, instead of this lovely sand green one? We've reached a put-up or shut-up moment. For everyone who really believes this is a copy, lets see you LDD a haunted house that looks significantly different while being production ready, keeping the same size and all the set's exterior details, and look like a traditional creepy mansion/bates motel.

Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Relax...its a plastic toy. Wouldn't it be awesome if they provided a parts pack to winter-fy the Haunted House. Frost on railings, snow on headstones, Santa hats for the zombies, a tree trimmed with rats, etc. -
I have all of them from Green Grocer on and I was in no way disappointed by Pet Shop set. Based on the common 10 cent per parts ratio its a good deal. I personally like the two separate buildings as they give some variety to my modular street, and they have some clever techniques and ideas. The Pet Shop is a superb parts pack with great colors and useful pieces, so you could always keep just this set in a couple of containers and try your hand at making your own modular using just those pieces. I just feel that as your modular street develops, you'll want to have them all. However, if you buy your modulars based on wow factor, and Pet Shop doesn't give you that feeling, there is nothing wrong with ignoring it. The same is true if your budget doesn't allow for expensive sets you only feel lukewarm about. If I felt the same way about Pet Shop, and my budget only allowed for one $150+ set per year, I would totally choose the Haunted House set, UCS R2D2, or even the Sopwith Camel + a Winter Village set instead. **Edit** PS has a distinct display advantage for you. You can turn it 45deg, so the corner is pointing towards you, and put one building on either side of GE. Until you get more modulars, this really would be best way to display both sets.

I would tell the parents; people should learn that stealing is bad before they become adults.
-
I do think that there should be a visible method of pivoting the walkways.
-
You'd have to find a different hinge solution because the bit that sticks out wouldn't allow the two buildings to sit flush.
-
for the small town feel, I would go with a Credit Union or Farmers Bank.
-
Honestly, for this to be a viable entry you need to up the level of detail; would you agree that it doesn't match the complexity of your Market Street next to it. At least work in some of the wall techniques from the Lord of th Rings sets like Helms Deep. I'm pretty sure the sidewalk needs to be made using 2x2 tiles. The concept is great but the execution needs to be refined.
-
I thought t he deadline was coming up but realized I have a whole other month to obsess over my entry. I think I'll make the windows look like the haunted house set.
-
And horror.... Ha ha cause its a haunted house.
-
Bricklink really shouldn't be used for hosting photos. FB is just fine for that.

No gravity = no need for stairs. You designed a space ship after all. Regardless, I like the side windows and the whole ship has a good shape.
