  1. good point. i missed it for some reasons. thanks!
  2. is the rear bed fixed or move up and down? it seems to be pretty small. what's the rough dimension of this? looks good!
  3. it's just an eye candy. nothing special about the set. i was fooled by the limited edition (not entirely but somewhat). 6 out of 10...
  4. ... good for you...sucks for me... i even took it apart to see where this "gear play" is coming from but i couldn't find any. it occurs when you lift or lower crane arm(s). everything is tight so that's what i figured and blakbird noticed the same thing.
  5. i wish the car was a little bit bigger. the car looks a little bit funny to me unless you are a dub fan... how big is this model?
  6. very cool. reminds me of scuderia front, saleen s7 rear. i like how those doors open. i may have missed it but does it also have working suspension?
  7. so what's the benefit of having this beep? i found this to be very annoying...... what's the story behind your creation?
  8. i may want to get my hands on those pneumatics. i hope prices go down on BL...
  9. i am an idiot. sorry. you are right, i was thinking of that white gear. i never knew that the dark grey one is also called clutch. thank you for clarification. that 16 tooth gear has different sides so you are right on that as well. even if you have it correctly, the crane still rotates (about 5 degrees) due to play in gears but i guess yours was rotating fully. i've asked on this forum about that "slight" rotation whenever gears were engaged for the crane. it appears to be that it's inevitable.
  10. i hope they come back with pnematics in bigger sets. i will most likely NOT buy this one mainly due to it's lack of appearance and the fact that i already have a tractor/trailer set, which is discontinued last week. are you disassembling every piece or disassembling a little bit to reduce sizes? is there a particular reason why you are disassembling every piece by piece if you are doing so?
  11. good to know. dont have pnematic system yet but planning to buy one (hopefully from ebay/BL in future). thanks!
  12. so does it really matter if the clutch gear is upside down? quite hard to believe. i thought it should work either way.
  13. correct me if i am wrong but doesnt WD40 attracts lots of dusts? i've been recommended to stay away from WD40 if i dont want any dusts built up. i forgot what the alternative was but i was just wondering. [edit] yes, teflon lubricant: http://www.lowes.com/pd_213197-39963-D0011...36;y=0$x=0 just my 2cents.
  14. where can i find more info on these items? you said sets but it seems to be very small for sets...can i get further information or rough pricing on these sets?
  15. I am not a "Star Wars" person and since my priority is Technic products, I'd like to share some ebay listings that I found (if you haven't seen these listings yet). I know there's a subforum for this but I am thinking less people go there than here. http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-NIB-LEGO-sets-Tra...=item35a69dcc98 http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-LEGO-sets-parts-8...=item35a6a0731a http://cgi.ebay.com/LEGO-Star-Wars-10019-R...=item35a6a085be http://cgi.ebay.com/LEGO-Star-Wars-7191-X-...=item35a6a08f1b I am on East Coast and I am not related by any means to the seller. I just checked BL prices on those and they are worth every penny IMO. I wish I had extra $ to get those collector's series (specifically x wing :() More I see Star Wars, more I get into it but Technic is just too cool. 8) Cheers!
  16. Words can't describe how great Technicopedia is. Technicopedia > Wikipedia by far.  i just noticed the 8880...i wish i can afford it... however i recently got 8480!!! still in sealed box. 8880 has too much stuffs in it and i wish they can bring it back. i'd gladly pay 200+ for something like that if i can.
  17. wow i was really cautious when i first heard the clutch kicked in. i was scared of breaking it so i never really extended all the way out or in. i think i can fully extend or retract now since i know that clutch is doing all the work to prevent any damages. thanks a lot! :)
  18. wow...speechless...how many parts used in this project? have you finished the other half? jaw dropping!
  19. not today but recently bought 8480 (MISB), last weekend. I am VERY surprised to see how new it was. VERY CLEAN! I AM HAPPY! WOOHOO!

  21. only concern with the rubber band method is the residue that the rubber band leaves on ABS material. (well i guess in general)
  22. wow! my only suggestion to you is maybe build a cover for the front end of the front end loader. it seems like this has everything you need (working suspension, steering, etc.) awesome!
  23. thanks! i am guessing you can automatically do trailer steering with remote control. sort of like upcoming 2010 excavator where 2 remotes (4 functions) held together and use proper gearing to steer trailer while steering front. i wish i can go back home now!!! :(
  24. lucky you. i am away so i cant get it anyways. sucks. :(
